You might have a bent valve if the timing is off, an easy way to check is to remove the valve cover and shake each cam bearing cap, if you find any movement you bent a valve directly under the loose cap, just a lil trick I learned

If it’s always leaking make sure it’s not bent anywhere around the bolts or the part of the pan that touches the engine at all, but if it has been bent I’d suggest using a cork gasket installation since they tend to be thicker. I have a YouTube video on how to prep the gasket so it won’t pinch...
