Has anyone gotten ASA to work on Windows 10? When going through the installation it tells me the drivers for the HASP HL are incompatible, then when attempting to run the program it simply gives a "key expired" message. Running as administrator does not get around it.
Thanks Martin. Below is the official announcement:----The Capital Area Diamond Star Motor Club (DSMCA) has reorganized and come under new management. We are now pleased to offer our very own home on the web, at www.dsmca.org.Times have changed and the EVO has exploded in popularity...
My JMF intake has withstood a meth backfire of over 60 psi (pegged reading). It did swell a bit but did not split or crack. I'm still using it with no issues (it may even be an improvement with the greater volume of the swelled plenum :)). It was an old version of the intake, too; one of the first.
For the folks worried about the weather, you need to broaden your monitoring beyond just weather.com, which is notoriously unreliable.weather.com: 30% chance of rainNOAA: mostly cloudy; no mention of rainNBC4: mostly cloudy; no mention of rainABC7: 30-40% chance of rainLooks...
I see you're in Staunton. There are several DSMer's in the Harrisonburg area and some of them post here. There's a SOVADSM forum floating around out there you should probably check out. I dunno the url though (probably something obvious).
Just to clarify, DSMsource.com constitutes the DSMtalk.com database as it existed prior to the November 2004 crash and subsequent buy-out. The original owner (WhoaTed) retained the rights to the database and recently decided to start the community up again with some of the original mod team...
I don't know of any shops in the area that are familiar with the DSM trans, and I wouldn't trust a trans at a shop anyway. If interested, PM me and I can put you in touch with a guy who works on just DSM trannies.
The bottom line is that no one really knows what's going on, not even ekool. A lot of folks are jumping the gun with new forums, etc. We can see that a lot of people were emotionally attached to DSMtalk. This isn't going to be easy.
Where did you buy the clutch that broke? Either way, there should be a warranty on it; you'll have to call ACT to pursue it. The part may have been defective, so hopefully you won't run into it again if you get another ACT clutch. Get an OEM plastic sleeved throwout bearing to go with it.As...
Stock head bolts/headgasket or ARP studs? 30 psi is possible with a conservative tune if you have ARPs, otherwise I wouldn't venture above 20-25 psi. I'm paranoid though.
After further analysis it looks like the car may have been too rich when it blew up. It is possible to inject too much meth and have it backfire in the intake manifold, which is what we believe happened. There was more than one problem with that motor. The meth explosion was one, but the...
The specs are in the manual (you have one, right?) The whole only-doing-it-when-hot thing sounds familiar. This happened to me many years ago. As the car and ECU warmed up, the electronics would fail. When cold it was fine. I had the flashing CEL as well. When I finally captured the code, it was...
Sounds like rod knock, although I dunno if mixing the two oils would have been the cause so late in the game. I would suspect an assembly or engine break-in error. Who built the motor?
You should be fine at 20 psi. The big advantage to adding meth is that it effectively increases the octane of the fuel mixture. Not only does this allow you to run more boost safely, it also allows you to dial in more timing advance. The difference in timing advance at the same boost between...
Methanol injection is the best substitute for race gas. It definitely offers a lot of potential, but you better know what you're doing and have the right engine components to pull it off. I speak from experience as I just recently blew my car up after fitting a meth kit to it. Details here...
Yes. Keep in mind though that the bigger injector you go with, the more airflow signal you are taking out of the ECU. With 660s you start reaching a point of diminishing returns when the ECU starts bumping up the timing advance way too much because it thinks are you aren't flowing enough air for...
TMO has long been defunct. Some place like Foreignecurepair.com or something like that now takes most of the business that once went to TMO. As for EPROM ECU sources, that's a tough one. Check your local DSM crowd to see if anyone has one, or ebay.www.dsmchips.com is today's replacement for...
Silly question but the rear end is jacked up all the way, right? Meaning no weight is being supported by the rear suspension at all. There should be enough room to rotate the stock bar until it comes out, same with getting the new one in.
You will have to swap pins, but yes. Check this link and the other wiring schematics hosted there:http://www.ecanfix.com/~mdhamilton/ecuconversion.html
Do you have any logs or O2 readings of when this happens? You are likely hitting fuel cut. Since you already have an AFC, and I'm assuming it is dialed in correctly, the amount of signal being taken out is not enough to offset the amount of airflow being metered by the MAS. You can either go the...
What turbo problems are you talking about? The extra .3L displacement will give you both quicker spool and more torque. The only turbo problem I could see is if you had a large ball bearing turbo that spooled up too quickly (compressor surge), in which case you would want a surge ported...
