Resolved 2G - No start on occasion, now most of the time

Maybe remove the ecu and open it up to see if anything looks unusual or burnt.

    Aftermarket TB with fmic

What kind of fmic is it? You can probably just get a silicone coupler to go in its place.

    2G Transfer case shims

Yeah I'm sure of it, i was able to get 10 of them totall. But i was only looking for the ones above 1.40 since thats what was in it to start with. I know when I was rebuilding my transmission it was like pulling teeth to find the shims I needed. That experience alone made me be easier on the...

    2G Transfer case shims

@twicks69 thank man, I called mitsubishi today and I got all the sizes that I could besides 7 of them that was obsolete like you was saying. Have you been able to see if anything was savable?I'm thinking between the sizes that I could get I can get this thing finished already. It's been...

    2G Transfer case shims

So I'm in the process of putting my transfer case back together and trying to find the part numbers for the output shaft shims. I looked in the fsm and here on the forum can't find anything on it. Help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Alrighty here is the billet 1/2 shift fork and also the evo 5th gear install. So with the trans obviously out of the car and on the work bench.Start with taking out the reverse switch and detent bolt. In the front you will have 3 hollow bolts with springs and detent balls. Use a little magnet...

How bad do you guys think the head gasket is blown on this gst I just got

i would hook up a leak down tester first in each hole before wasting money putting any liquids back in and listen for air escaping out of the radiator cap hole.

Alrighty, just wanted to post this before I get into the transmission and forget. I've been thinking about the best thing to do for heat/rust management on this exhaust manifold and exhaust turbo housing. What I came up with is to cerakote it with there v series product. I've been seeing alot of...

I'm hoping to have some drivetrain updates this coming weekend. With install pictures because what's a build update with out pictures? Lol

Yeah it's mostly my fault it's taking longer than I want it to. I have almost all the parts and stuff, but I also do this for a living. So after working on everybody else's vehicles I'm drained by Saturday and want nothing to do with a wrench. LolBut I do agree slowing down and being patient...

@AWD-Tony thanks man! It's going a little slower than expected. But little progress is better than none. Also I got that from extreme psi, The brand is Frontline fabrications. All you do is press out a little pin in the oem dip stick and swap out the handles.

Well finally got my bolts back from zinc. Check this stuff out, they did a great job with the bolt and nuts.I seem to have terrible luck with the plastic oil stick handle. So I went ahead and got a billet one. What a price of art, totally worth the 60$. While cleaning out the front of the car...

I forgot to mention I sent my cams out to delta cams for some regrinding to the hks 272 profile. I can't say enough good things about that place. They was super friendly and quick. I know that's hard to come by now days. This should go pretty good with the hy35. Can not wait to get this thing...

Alright I'm back with a small update. I got everything back from powdercoating. Figured I'd go with the storm trooper look since the car is white. Also found a evo 3 intake manifold for cheap. The only thing I'm waiting on now so I can officially put everything on is the bolts from zinc plating...

So I got a update but just a parts update. I figured I'd go ahead and rip off the bandaid. So I got most of the big stuff along with all the little picky stuff as well. Hopefully the wife doesn't notice. :tease:I'll go through the build specs and update them as well later. But this is most of it...

    2G DIY engine harness pointers

Hey everyone hope you're having a good one. I've been thinking of completely building a new engine harness from scratch. This isn't my first rodeo with wiring but i want to do this harness once. 2G Auxiliary radiator?

Yeah I ment to say after doing all the ducting and cleaning the condensor and all the normal stuff we preach on here.I figure I could modify the stock ic duct if it stayed on the passrnger side and use the stock vw fan on the back of it. I should have said this in post 1.What about putting...

    2G Auxiliary radiator?

So as everyone knows it's hard to keep ac and a fmic with a stock appearing car in 100° weather. Meaning no vented hood and no added vents in the bumper. I came across some info on the 15+ vw golf R. They have a auxiliary radiator off to the side like where our stock ic is. Mishimoto makes a...

    2G Engine harnesses

Does any one other than ohm racing make engine harnesses for 2gs? Idk if it's just me but 1300$ for a engine harness is crazy to me. When other harnesses for different engines are almost half the price. Like a sr20 harness is 700$.

    Spyder Convertible Top Replacement

Yeah I ment to update this. So what I did was laid the old top on top on the new one. Then traced along the staple line of the old top. Then I was done in 30 minutes. Lol

    Spyder Convertible Top Replacement

Alright I'll give it another shot tomorrow. I guess that's what the problem is, I'm afraid to mess it up. I don't want to put unnecessary holes in the top. Thanks for the help!

    Spyder Convertible Top Replacement

So how did you find where to staple on the 4th rib exactly?? I'm having the same issues but a little lost on how you got it tight in the middle the 3rd and 4th rib.

2G Hard Pipe for t25 or Ebay FMIC

There is loop holes around the coolant Temps and ac. But it's not worth all the headache for something under 350whp. It's like I told ya I'd stick with the smic. Plus look around for a used set. I bought some a couple weeks ago for 80$ with couplers and all.

2G 97 GS-T barely stays on, weak idle after battery replacement

You'll most likely break the clear part. Best to just remove it for the fuse box.
  33. Hickory-NC-2Ggsx

2G 97 GS-T barely stays on, weak idle after battery replacement

Simplest things can get ya. Test that fuse and report back. Now that you fixed the terminal does it still run better with the tps unplugged?
  34. Hickory-NC-2Ggsx

2G 97 GS-T barely stays on, weak idle after battery replacement

So I asked you befor on your other thread that if you unplug the tps does the car stay running and you said no. Now you say it stays running if you unplug it. If it stays running unplugged that means you need a new tps. Also idle should be around 750Also sounds like you have something draining...

    TPS pricing

I would start with atleast a cheap scan tool ($50)at Walmart or something so you can see what most of the sensors are reading. They don't always throw a cel if something is wrong. Honestly dsms are not that bad. They're just old it comes with the territory.
  36. Hickory-NC-2Ggsx

    TPS pricing

Repetitive creates clutter that most of the time never gets a resolved answer. Yes I understand you have never done this before but come on I just typed in resistance for tps and there's bunches of good results. Like I mentioned I'm not trying to be that guy. But to encourage you too look...

2G Looking for advice & suggestions on planned 2g build

Looks like a solid and reliable plan to me! If you need any more help feel free to pm me.So for those injectors you would need to delete the resistor box because those are high z stock are low z. And you would need to add a conversion harness for each injector plug or solder in the new plugs...

You could do a remote tune. I know jack at hp logic in Florida does remote tunes. And he is very good at what he does. Or you can do it yourself it's not bad at all. Scott laird on YouTube has alot of good videos on how to get everything dialed in.

2G Looking for advice & suggestions on planned 2g build

Use rear o2 sensor input (pin 75 white wire) for wiring in the output data (yellow wire) on the wideband. Then use mdp input (pin 73) for map sensor. For the gm iat sensor use the ecu iat input (pin 72). Yes you can use the elbow for the it sensor. There is a better wiring how to of these...
