  1. Will 2G seats fit in a 1G?

This site runs like garbage sometimes.Anyways, the question was:I have some crummy cloth 1G seats I would like to replace. Wanted to put in some nice black leather 2G seats and was wondering if they will fit nicely or if I would need some adapters. Thanks.
  2. Underdrive pulley--->worthwhile mod or not?

I know that under drive pullies are supposed to free up rotationial mass and allow more power to the wheels. What do you guys think? Is is worth the money to purchase one or is it better spent elsewhere?Looking at something like this...
  3. pte 57 trim - reviews?

Guys, obviously something is very wrong with his statements so don't spend so much time trying to figure it out. Sounds like she told him she dyno'd 480hp but completely made that number up since his 14B was keeping up. Either that or she can't drive or he is pulling numbers out of his ass. It's...
  4. Driving me crazy trying to find right turbo...

A GT35R is a BIG turbo to daily drive on and you are going to be off boost a lot on that turbo. On a built 2 litre, you won't see full boost near 3800rpms at all. I think you would be best off shooting for a GT30R for the 2.0LDid you check on the BB 60trim that Speedfactor offers? Slightly...
  5. Do I have enough??

That intercooler needs to go as does that horrid exhaust manifold. Pick up either a ported 2G or a DNP tubular manifold if you have the extra money. Expect that clutch's life to be severely limited once you are boosting hard on that turbo. If you decide to make the jump to the GT35R, you would...
  6. eIII16g vs. 19c vs. 18g td05h

I just recently took off a PTE 54 trim from my car as the flow charts show it actually flows LESS than a 50trim. I got 21psi at 3900rpms and made 309whp on pump gas (shiztty ass 91 octane) but felt I could do better with a better turbo. A close friend of mine runs a BB 57 trim and we love it...
  7. eIII16g vs. 19c vs. 18g td05h

Okay, you counter my 18G flows more than a 16G arguement with nothing more than an opinionated statement and no proof, my comments come directly from the tech support at FORCED PERFORMANCE. Then you proceed to take HALF A SENTENCE quote pertaining to the 19C in which I said it was a good turbo...
  8. eIII16g vs. 19c vs. 18g td05h

r10: Just because it has thinner blades does NOT mean it outflows the 18G. At 15psi, the E16G flows 550cfm and the 18G flows 600cfm, not the other way around.tstkl: Why do you want to get the ball bearing version? For those two specific turbos, the boost will come on at a decent rpm, save...
  9. Help me to choose the turbo please!!!!

I agree with CorvetteBoy and that was the point I was trying to make. You can hit that goal with a 16G but that is the hard route to go. Hard in that it takes the most supporting mods, most boost and most tuning knowledge. Why strain everything to the max when using a 60trim or similar turbo...
  10. eIII16g vs. 19c vs. 18g td05h

Pick up either the FP 18G or the SBR 20G.
  11. Turbo suggestions-not a newb here (upgrading system)

Wow, RRE was right, DSM tuners has gone to shit.
  12. Help me to choose the turbo please!!!!

Do you think this is what the AVERAGE DSM owners does? This guy doesn't even know what turbo would make 400hp. I am glad you have the know how and setup to run that type of boost but "Joe DSM" doesn't. That's the whole point I'm trying to make to the board. I said it can be done but it isn't a...
  13. Help me to choose the turbo please!!!!

Ugghh, this is internet banter to the fullest. It is NOT easy to just throw an Evo16G on your car and make 400hp so stop saying dumb shit like that. Have people made 350whp on a 16G? Sure. Did they do it in any sort of daily driven capacity? HELL NO. If you drive your car frequently then you'd...
  14. eIII16g vs. 19c vs. 18g td05h

I get so TIRED of people's retarded comments when they have NEVER run one of the turbos mentioned. The 18G is an excellent street turbo, probably the most fun I've driven was with my 18G. If the 18G is $600 and the E16G is $575 or whatever it is, why would you recommend the 16G?! The 18G flows...
  15. Turbo suggestions-not a newb here (upgrading system)

Well guys, it is about that time to upgrade the turbo system on my GS-T. Four years ago I started with a ported & clipped 14B and stock SMIC with bolt-ons. Then I moved to a td06 18G, 660s and a 2GMAS. Before I even really maxed that out I moved to a PTE SCM32 (54 trim) and a dejontool...
  16. RS49T Replacment Turbo

For a daily driven 2.0L with a stock head I don't agree with recommending an SCM61, it's too laggy and will cut your "around town" fun in half as it takes too long for this setup to stretch it's legs.I would recommend going with a PTE 60 trim. You get another 50-80hp bump in power, good...
  17. 2.3L vs 2.0L spool finally put to the test

Understood. My 60-1 comment was more aimed at the guys who responded to this thread that are running 60-1s. The GT40 or even the GT35R are much better choices. But for the same price range, the SCM61 is the shizzle.
  18. 2.3L vs 2.0L spool finally put to the test

That would seriously concern me if I just put in a 2.3L stroker motor and the 2.0L was spooling at the same rpms. I personally see no need to run 3" IC piping, 2.5" is fine for any street driven car with a large turbo, if anything I would think that would hinder spool up time on the 2.0L. Keep...
  19. Upgrading setup (turbo&IC) not a noob, your opinion:

Ahhh, I dunno about that man. Two of my friends have run properly setup 60-1s before and we didn't like the lag at all. The power is barely more than a 60trim but the spool is way more severe. Don't forget I am running a stock shortblock right now. I've seen 60-1s make good power on stroker...
  20. Upgrading setup (turbo&IC) not a noob, your opinion:

Well guys, I am planning on switching to a new setup and was looking for suggestions. I was running the following turbo setup:PTE SCM32 (54 trim) Dejontool 2.5" UICP Dejontool super-sidemount (220% bigger than stock smic) Dejontool 2.25" LICPOn shitty 91 octane and 19psi I was putting...
  21. Dyno'd my PTE 54 trim

99gstracer:I'm hoping to get it up to the track in October. I will have the car ready to go running:110 octane gas Nitto drag radials Tuned for running 26psi high boost Fresh passenger axle LSD insert Koni Yellow shocks up frontGot a guess for me? I'm going to have a goal of...
  22. New Turbo exhaust manifold on the market!

I have had the pleasure of dealing with NSFabrication in the past, they make 02 housings for our DSMs that are far superior in design and price to the Team Punishment pieces and they also made my custom intake cut-out of the headlight. So after taking time to design a tubular exhaust manifold...
  23. Fp Green W/ Hrc Smic

Took the car to get dyno'd again as I fixed some boost leaks and an exhaust leak. The tuner mentioned to me afterwards that he was impressed with the way my intercooler setup (dejontool super-sidemount, dejontool 2.5" UICP&LICP w/silicone couplers) cooled the turbo and was suprisingly effecient...
  24. Choices, help me out

The car is basically stock and people are recommending a FPR?? :|With $250 I would buy the testpipe+exhaust system. After that then save some money for a boost controller, boost gauge and downpipe. After that....well, get to that point first.
  25. Those wondering about the limits of an upgraded SMIC

Another update for you guys, I had the car tuned and boost leaks fixed as well. This time on the dynojet I put down 309whp but the big difference being that this time it was at 20psi and PUMP GAS 91 octane. So with some good tuning on the AFC I was able to put down nearly the same amount of...
  26. Dejontool Super-sidemount review (limits of)

I know some people out there are looking to run bigger turbos on a sleeper-type setup. I have an SCM32 (54 trim) with the supporting mods listed in my profile. I was curious how the Dejon Tool Super-sidemount would hold up cooling higher boost without heatsoaking. They say it is rated to 400hp...
  27. New pictures of my GS-T

Added some carbon fiber overlays to the HVACs to compliment the CF hood and also put some Dunlop FM901s on the front to help with traction. Put down 305whp on low boost and pump gas :thumb:
  28. Which Turbo Should I Get [merged] What Turbo

Excellent rod+piston choice IMO. Definately look into a SMIM to optimize your top end flow, just a port job on a stock manifold is no bueno. With that 2.4L setup I would look into a PTE SCM61. With the low end TQ of the 2.4L you'll be good until boost kicks in the 56 trim and then it is GO time...
  29. How much power for 120 traps?

Nah, the 60trim is bigger than the 50 trim, its the 54 that is smaller. My fault, I didn't know what setup you already have, that is very commendable. Hopefully you have a fully built transmission. I know ONE person who have a automatic transmission who ran 11.98 @ 117 on a BR580 and 780cc's...
  30. How much power for 120 traps?

I would say a 60 trim, large cams and effecient FMIC plus the rest of the supporting mods would MAYBE get you close to that. The auto GSX has the worst drivetrain loss, probably close to 30%. I think it would benefit you greatly to look into a nicely ported head while you are taking it out to...
  31. Dyno'd my PTE 54 trim

90AWD: It was a dynojet, whatever that tells you.Okay, so with the mods in my profile I plan to add:Zeitronix wideband ImportPower propane injection kit (98 octane on pump gas) Taboospeedshop Billet steel shift fork Street Radials for the trackAt that point, I am just going to...
  32. 20G vs the 50 trim, E/T difference?

You need to rethink that one yourself. A td06 20G is NOT a 50trim.Also, the 50trim is a solid turbo with many people running good times on them. Just because the quicklist isn't up to date doesn't mean there aren't plenty of 50 trims running great numbers. Two friends of mine have the PTE...
  33. Just dyno'd at 295whp/297ft-lbs on pump gas... WHAT NEXT?

Oh man, get a 2G or Evo manifold. The GVR4 mani is just a 1G manifold, prone to cracking big time.I actually have COMP cams, not HKS cams and they seem to be EXCELLENT quality. People in posts previous already gave you some numbers as to the power they make. Both COMP and FP cams are nearly...
  34. Just dyno'd at 295whp/297ft-lbs on pump gas... WHAT NEXT?

I already answered that for you. And no, your idle will stay just fine with that combo of camshafts. I recommended changing the headgasket but didn't mean to confuse that with the head work, it was more for when that time comes around. ARP studs are VERY useful compared to stockers. When you go...
  35. clutch opinions

While building up my 1991 GS-T I looked at a number of different clutch applications before opting for the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch and XACT flywheel. I was running an 18G + supporting mods when I first installed it. After breaking it in with multiple-shift daily driving for 600 miles, I...
  36. T3/T4 50trim on a 255walbro pump.

Next thread title:Motor grenaded, do you think the tranny may be okay?"
  37. T3/T4 50trim on a 255walbro pump.

Absolutely not.You need to pick up some Denso 720s and a blue screen AFC. I'd put in a 190lph fuel pump if you are nearing the end of your power goals, the 255 is real whiny. If you are sticking at 400whp or around then that pump will suffice.
  38. Dyno'd my PTE 54 trim

Another case of not reading like the first guy. I said super-sidemount and in one post said that the SUPRA sidemount has had good times run on it. Also, during the body of this thread I already mentioned why I don't run an FMIC.
  39. Dyno'd my PTE 54 trim

Guitargeek: I could care less man, my panies aren't in a wad it was just an observation and it happens alot on car forums, I just used yours as an example, no worries. Anyways, the propane kit is around $270 I believe, I'll double check for you.1fast97gsx: I have the Dejontool...
  40. 1" Lowering Springs

H&R is only a 1.2" drop which will work well with the GR-2s. You HAVE to have a spring that is less than a 1.5" drop. I had some KYB GR-2 shocks and they blew after only a month of driving with Intrax springs. They are nice OEM replacement shocks but you can't over lower them.
  41. Thinking of this setup, let me know how u think it will work...

Also, if you search their site as well as others, NOBODY runs Sportlines. They drop is actually 2 inches and bottoms out on everything and jars you around on daily driving. I think you should do some more research and find something better suited for the car:-Your shock choice, despite the...
  42. Dyno'd my PTE 54 trim

Amazes me how people just completely don't read posts. There is no way to read that thread or check my profile and think I have a stock sidemount WTFAnyways, I decided to go with propane because a very reputable shop has made an excellent kit and made it affordable. Propane and alchy...
  43. Just dyno'd at 295whp/297ft-lbs on pump gas... WHAT NEXT?

I would think adding HP and a better TQ curve would be higher on the priority list then your lack of motivation. I didn't feel like taking out every plastic panel and carpeting to swap in OEM black but it made the car better so I did it ;)Don't overlook the other suggestions I had, all of...
  44. Just dyno'd at 295whp/297ft-lbs on pump gas... WHAT NEXT?

I just dyno'd basically the same numbers you did on 91 octane. Being FWD, I would look into some polyurethane motormounts to help eliminate wheel hop. I went with 3 poly's and one fresh OEM mount (tranny-side to not get vibration in the cabin) and that helped out immensley.Aside from that, I...
  45. Dyno'd my PTE 54 trim

:thumb: Thanks. I'm really looking to hit 116 traps on race gas but we'll see. Once the wideband, FMIC and propane injection are installed I think it'll be done. Good to see 1G FWDs go fast, they are a rare breed.
  46. My buddy just set the record for fastest and quickest FWD 3000GT

Hey I remember you t_do, also recall when you first got the Talon. Nice setup you've got there! How is the internally gated 50trim working for ya?
  47. Dyno'd my PTE 54 trim

People have run excellent times on a Supra sidemount before, I know I can do the same. The IC never heatsoaked at 20psi, its 225% bigger than stock. My office is right near the parole board and I had 2 FMIC's stolen so I went sleeper status with the SMIC and haven't had problems since. At a...
  48. Dyno'd my PTE 54 trim

 The weight reduction was done before I had the tuning done, it just is what it is, its not a "band-aid" for anything. And the boost leaks ARE fixed, this tuning is done on 91 octane. How much power with a sidemount and 50 trim do you expect me to get on pump gas and 20psi? This is...
  49. Dyno'd my PTE 54 trim

If I only hit 110 traps in my GS-T I'll be disappointed. I think with the CF hood, lighter rims and the front bumper support removed the car probably weighs around 27XX pounds. AWDs with 50trims have trapped 114+. I think I'll be able to get to high teens with a good tune and high boost...
  50. Dyno'd my PTE 54 trim

Well my 300whp was on PUMP gas and 20psi. In the post I stated I was shooting for those traps on 100 octane and high boost. So my numbers on pump aren't really directly related to my goal. I'll most likely be running 25psi at the track and right around 360whp.P.S--->The picture isn't that...
