I really don't see why people get 12" intercoolers when 80% of DSMers never pass the "50 trim phase." and/or make more than 400whp. A 7-10" intercooler is more than enough and will make the car response better than a 12"Just my .02 cents.
First of all if your asking what to do in vegas something is wrong with you. Its a non stop party. Every Hotel has crazy shit to look at The Rio has the best lunch/dinner buffet and Terrible's Casino (off the strip, make a left on Tropicana if i remember correctly) has $9 breakfast buffet...
It is very obvious that you are a newbie. All of you questions could have been answered by doing a simple search. Please use it DSMtuners has many similar useless threads.First, the last thing you should be worrying about is getting a new turbo. Have you even checked for shaft play? boost...
if you go to the 5zigen website they will tell you which size will accommodate the big brakes for EVOs, STis, and 350Z5ZIGEN USA official websiteAlso be a man 8" are weak (so 2006) get AT LEAST a 8.5"; that's the proper size for 245/40 anyway.
why don't you go to a local exhaust shop and get one made. It is only a ~14" piece of SS and two 2-bolt flange. I don't know how strict your regulations are in your state but there is nothing illegal if they just make it for you. However, it will probably be illegal if they install it for you...
I had the G-Force Sport they are a great all-around tire (pun not intended). They gripped fairly well, comfortable, and didn't hydroplane. The only complaint i had about them was they were loud for a "ultra high performance tire." The only tire that I would recommend would the the Kumho SPTs...
If you want your car to be quiet. Just add two resonators to your existing cat-back. Also, if you have a test pipe swap it out for a Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator.
Its really simple to paint wheels all i did was:Masked the polished lip
Sand them
Prime them
Paint them
Let them sit for a week (it says on the can it needs one full week for the ceramic to cure)*I did not put a clear coat on because I have seen a few pictures of white wheels turning...
This is the main reason i decided to paint the door handles black. There is no way i am ruining a well maintained 99 black interior with painted white accents :barf:
My SSR's when I bought them were gold. However, I really did not like how they "flowed" with the car, so i decided to paint them white. I personally think it looks great but I am a little biased since it is my car :pComments welcomed!Specs:
SSRs GT7 17x8.5 35+ mm offset.
Michelin 245/40/17...
If the offset is +49 there is no way you are going to fit wider wheels without spacers. For example, my RX7 wheels are 8" 50+ offset and i rubbed with a 225/50; I had to get a 5mm spacer just to clear the control arm. I you want a 235-245 you will probably need 8mm-10mm spacers, extended studs...
16" rims don't have many sizes. For a 8" rim your choices are 225/50, 245/50, and 245/45. I am not saying all of these will fit because I don't know the offset of your wheels. In addition, a 245/50 has a really big sidewall and I can't promise that they won't rub even at stock ride height...
if your on coilovers you will have no problem since you can just raise the car enough so it doesnt rub. As it sits right now your car is too low. I have coilovers with a 9kg/6kg spring rate and I needed a 2 finger gap in the front a 3 finger gap in the rear to have absolutely no rubbing (even...
a 225/35/19 is actually the ideal size. It keeps the overall circumference close to the stock size. However, if you want more meat on the tires go 235/35/19. Lastly, telling use the offset would be useful. Just by looking at them i think they are 45-40.
Tein springs both S and H are SOFTER than stock (do some research on the spring rates). If you care for performance, your better off getting another brand.
Thats odd because this is how the original intake comes on a a EVO 3. In addition, the IC piping doesn't go over the heat shield. Moreover, the first picture the intake manifold doesn't look like a EVO manifold since it has the writing on it.
The only problem I can think of is IF the Greddy CBE bottlenecks to attach to the stock cat, than the RRE downpipe will not work because it is a 3". You will need to bring your CBE to an exhaust shop so he can get rid of the bottleneck.
Brian Crower makes a stroker kit for the 4G64 to make it into a 2.6L. Also the 4G64 really isnt a 2.4L its a 2350cc.BrianCrower.com - Brian Crower - BC - Mitsubishi Elipse / Eagle Talon - 4G63
the 4G64 is the black sheep in the Eclipse line up. However, there is potential because it is compatible with the 4G63. This website is your guide to the 4G64.4G64 Performance - Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS
do you want to put your alignment back to stock specs or track specs? If you want to put it back to stock spec so you maximize tire wear just go to firestone and get their lifetime vehicle alignment for $150.If you don't care about tire wear and you want all out handling then get...
you don't have to but I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you do. I asked this question to a few local performance shop all of them agreed anything over 5mm spacers you really should get longer and stronger studs.
Tire width really depends on manufacturer. My old 245 Michelin Pilot Sport were BARELY wider than my 225 BFGoodrich G-Force Sport on my old 8" wheels. Tires such as RT615, Advan Neovas, Direzza Z1, Nitto NT01, and RE01R run extremely wide for their width.
only the EARLY 1993 wheels are prone to cracking. They modified all wheels after to be strong (and slightly heavier).Thank You Turbo Addict from finding my old post didn't want to dig through my pictures to upload it again. ROFLFor the record my wheels WITH tires came in at 38lbs. According...
there is a huge difference between:
tires that fit on a wheel
and
tires that fit PROPERLY on a wheela 255/40 should NOT be on a 8" wheel. The minimum width recommendation is 8.5" but optimal would be 9". Having a tire that is too wide for a certain wheel width will cause the center section of...
wow 2.5 60' is HORRIBLE, I have done better in my fwd ROFL You should be able to cut at least a 2.0 60' no problem (as long as your drivetrain is up for it). Remember you have a 15 year old car don't expect it to perform like it was brand new from the showroom but you should be able to do a low...
I use my RX7 for daily driving. If you get a 225/50 you only need a 5mm spacer. The quality/brand of spacer is up to you. I got $10 ones at a local tuning shop. If you get 245/45 10mm spacers would be required and along with longer studs and new lug nuts.
it is IMPOSSIBLE to tell you if it is "bigger" than a 16G by only looking at the compressor housing. Email the seller and ask him the specs of the turbo.
its going to stick out that much regardless of a 225-245. That offset with that width is not meant for a stock body 2G. If you are concerned about traction the more sidewall the better. So getting a 235/45, 225/45, or 245/45 would be ideal. The reality is you are going to rub just depends how...
running a 245/40 is very common. However, it has ALOT to do with how low your is and camber. If you car is slammed you, are going to rub everywhere. In addition, the offset you have is going to make them stick out passed the fenders by about 1.25".
Yea Yimi usually works on WRXs and EVOs. They are capable tuners so I am sure they can do SAFC or DSMlink. Just call and see if they know how to use whatever tuning device you are using.
Here are my RX7 wheels I am using 5mm spacers all around. Sorry for the crappy picture I know the lighting is horrible I just took it really quick to post on this thread.
If you used the metallic red from duplicolor, it is going to fade. I have painted a few of them and all of them faded to an orange. For some weird reason the green and purple held up fine. Also, I let them dry for 1 week just like the back of the can directed.
