Hey all,THE RISERS ARE NOW LIVE! Please visit shophef.com to purchase. You can contact me directly but my website has better shipping rates. I also created an installation video, which shows you the effectiveness of these risers.Initial post:
My first ever product that brought me into the...
Hey all,
Been chasing down a startup squeal from my powersteering pump. Squeals hard at startup, goes away quickly. When warm, I can startup and have little/no squealing. Had this issue intermittently for a while, but really started when I got a new belt.
I think I've nailed down the issue to...
Hey all,I'm away from my Talon but I recently changed out the motor mounts in my Golf. It was pretty crazy how big of a difference motor mounts made. The clutch engages better, and more power gets put to the ground.I was curious if anyone has experience doing combination poly/OE mounts on a...
I'm not having trouble with a DSM today, rather a mk4 diesel golf.I hooked up a boost gauge that I sourced local. It's called an AutoGauge? Which I just assumed to be an Autometer ripoff. Has a bunch of 4-pin connectors because you can daisy chain other gauges. The bottom 3-wire pin goes to a...
Hey all, it's gotten crazy around here lately. Apologies if I'm taking longer than expected on anything. One of the things keeping me busy is my 4th year engineering design project. Along with 2 other uWaterloo students, we are looking into solutions to monitor the health and well-being of...
I haven’t put many km on my car since I did a 3000gt front brake swap. I used the volk metal craft kit which worked well, and got brand new calipers. I also bought the inner-wheel brake line from a vendor that came recommended on the forums for this swap. The line was fine for around 1000km, but...
I have an upper charge pipe for a 2g. Came off my old eclipse when I went to fmic and a different bov. I THINK it’s an old HRC Mahn Racecraft charge pipe but I didn’t buy it, only took it off the old car. It has a plate for solid-mounting the pipe to the chassis. Comes with an older HKS SBOV...
Got this alternator professionally rebuilt probably a year ago. Never ran, still has the rebuild tag on it. I got two alternators rebuilt by the same place, and the one on my Talon is still going strong. Just want back pretty much what I paid for it.

Hey all. I’ve been designing a personal battery tray. Im aiming for “overbuilt.” It has an aluminum frame with some 3D printed goodies built in. I’ve been having some trouble figuring out the best route to go for designing the fastening mechanism and just overall upper structure of the tray. To...
I've been playing around with flexible filaments lately. 3D printing has great capabilities for printing replacements for old worn out rubber bushings. The great part about designing bushings, was that I can play with infills and TPU shore hardness in order to get my favourite feeling bushing...
I’m working out some new ideas for parts. I’m mocking the holes for our DSM throttle body.I wanted to make adapters for throttle bodies off of other cars. What throttle bodies do we commonly use, maybe that we’d like to see?
I was also tossing around the idea of a spacer in front of the...
Hey all! After a much needed break from car business, I’m back with more 3D printed DSM parts! I’ve done more research and made more efforts towards making stronger and more customized products via 3D printing. You guys have given me the opportunity to expand the possibilities of 3D printing...
I’ve been prototyping some holders for larger fuel lines to bolt into stock locations. I’m not a big fan of the plastic nut that goes on this stud for the front one, does anyone know what thread size/pitch it is? I want to use a metal locknut instead but all the nuts I’m trying are coming up short.
Hey all. Been loving the idea of a 4g64 swap with a 4g63 head, but I'm still confused about which 4g64 blocks are supposed to be used. Do I HAVE to get a 4g64 from a 97-99 eclipse spyder? There is a 3g eclipse in a local junkyard, are the 4g64 bottom ends the same? The main gripe that I have is...
The entire front brakes setup for a awd 2g. Upgrade your 1g brakes! Have some spares, up to you. The brakes worked totally fine coming off, just upgraded to a comprehensive aftermarket setup. Lots of life left! Little rust on the rotor is just humidity when I was working in the garage and it was...
Ever since I did a turbo swap I had a really slow leak from the turbo oil line (which I upgraded when I swapped but I guess it just didn’t seal right).
So now I paid for this oil drain line already made to make sure that it doesn’t leak. Was wondering, is this 90 degree into the oil pan too...
Anyone know the thread size and pitch of this guy here? Looking to get some brake lines made locally for my 3kgt front brake swap. Need a new line with a provision for the 3kgt fitting.
My 2g eclipse is 6bolt swapped. It came with a 2g DSM ECMlink v3 that it ran pretty poorly on. I wanted to switch it over to the Blackbox so I could throw the ECMlink in my Talon. Thing is, on the Blackbox, the car just keeps turning over. On ECMlink it starts right up! The firing order between...
So I got my Eclipse back up and running. I was in the process of bleeding the coolant and at idle it was pushing out of the top and overflowing. I figure I’d just throw some rags around it and keep bleeding. It kept pushing coolant out of the top and when I shut the motor off it shot more out...
Hey all.Was reading on what exact lubricant to use for my trans and I got everything figured out to do a fluid change around the entire car. I remember seeing a comment on one of the threads about a method to remove the reverse switch (or something) to fill up the trans a bit more. Apparently...
I feel like I've seen it before and I'm just doing a bit of research out of curiosity. Is there a write-up or info on someone flipping our engine to be inline with the driveshaft? Same orientation as the mighty-max I believe. Just want to become informed because I'm looking at a similar idea myself.
Hey!I finally got around to trying to clean up the butterfly stock intake that’s been sitting around. There is some gunk inside, and I want to freshen up the outside.
I’m worried about normal foaming agents or anything just incase they damage the valve things in the intake. I also guess that...
Hey all!I'm back experimenting with 3D printing and our cars after some much needed chill time. I was wondering, would there be any interest in this door-mounted gauge pod mount? It bolts-in to the factory hole, has all the required notches for the factory wires, as well as a hole in the back...
Anyone have experience with the RTM Racing fmic kit? How well does it fit the front bumper? Not looking to hold 60lbs of boost here, maybe 25ish for the daily. Anyone have issues with it blowing out? It says not all hardware was included, I’ve got a bunch of clamps and bolts but how bolt-on was...
Hey all. This whole virus thing has spiraled my studies out of control but it hasn't stopped professors from throwing projects at us. I'm wondering if you guys could help me out on something. I'm analyzing the manufacturing processes used to create a crank-case cover for a lawnmower.I already...
Hey all! Back with some more 3D printed parts. I’m having a blast trying to make new parts for DSMs.I’ve gone through easily 40+ iterations on this part just because I kept running into issues with literally everything. Hopefully you guys like it!
Want some feedback on the price as well, but...
I came across a Holset H1C for free from my friend who is moving away. I'm curious about my rebuild options. If I'm not mistaken, it's essentially just an older-style hx-35. I'm not big into rebuilding my own turbos, so I'm wondering, are there any options for companies/people to rebuild this...
I'm suited into my new area and I'm finally getting back to trying to create 3D printed parts for our cars. I've been working on a drop-in replacement for the cup holder in the center console. Personally I never use the cupholder so I wanted to make a touch-button switch panel. Noticing that...
I’ve been getting to a lot of electronics recently, mostly works with LED strips. I’m interested to mess up my extra pair of taillights to see if I can do something cool with them. Talon taillights have this orange top and red bottom. I thought it might just be tint or something but it turns out...
Is this thing important? Weighs a bit, wondering if I could take it out. I figured it might be there just to keep the form of the bottom piece but it seems to hold up fine without it.
Just want to confirm, I've seen different things in-between a few threads on this site. I'm getting ready to throw on those 4-pot big brake things from the 3kgt. Have everything figured out except the bleeder size. I don't feel like running around to figure it out, can anyone confirm if it is...
While I wait for the bumper risers to print on my larger printers, I've been doing a bit of work making shifter base bushings on the smaller printer.
I've got a perfect fit now, but I'm wondering, would it be bad to run ABS shifter base bushings for any reason? I've noticed that a lot of shifter...
Just swapping my dash and didn’t take note of how these plugs were rotated (I.e. 180deg). They are in the right spots, I just want to make sure the sides of each plug are going into the correct sides of the gauge cluster. Does this orientation look correct?
Hey all,I've been making 3D printed products for myself for a few months now, and I figured I would offer some of them to the DSM community! For people who delete their front crash bar, we lose the styrofoam that is supporting the bumper. Personally, I had to delete the front crash bar to...
Using ECMlink v3. It’s my first time ever tuning and I’m reading & watching videos as I’m connected to the car and try to figure this stuff out. I’m having a problem where after some time the battery is dieing on me and I have to change it out which is a hassle.
Can I hook up a 12A charger to...
Just put on a new intake manifold and needed to put on a 1g TB. The car starts great but when it comes down to idle, it goes really really low and crackles, most of the time it kills the car. What am I missing?
I’m guessing I popped some fuse. I forgot to plug in the ground for the wiring harness, when I tried to crank everything turned off. Now if I try to connect the battery, nothing turns on, not even the interior lights.
I tried the 100a fuse, switching it out with some 120a I had laying around...
I deleted AC and Emissions, there should be some plugs that have no where to go but I’m not sure where this one goes. Coilpack and CPS are plugged in already.
Just to get my car on the road for a bit, where can I route this line off of the valve cover? Traditionally it’s going to the intake manifold, but I have a bunch of ports open on my pre-turbo intake pipe, can I route it there? Or is that no bueno.
Do I need these two things? Have a new intake that doesn’t have a spot for them. I think the thing of the left is some vacuum solenoid, where would I hose it to if I need it? Also attached is a pic of my available ports.
I got the SS clutch line that replaces the stock line that goes from the tranny all the way to the clutch cylinder thing. I’m having issues trying to get the line tight enough that it won’t leak. It’s an 11mm. Should I try a flare? It’s ridiculous to try and tighten it when it’s in such a...
What is this? I already have a half-emissions delete from the previous owner (some lines are still laying around). Can I delete this and everything attached to it?
Long story short I’m pretty sure I popped the fuse for my turn signals. If I’m not mistaken, the fuse box for them is located basically right underneath the passenger-side airbag. Is there any way for me to access the fuse and push it back in without pulling the dash? (FYI I already fixed the...
Just installed -6AN lines from the sending unit -> AEM rail -> AFPR -> stock return line. Also threw in a 450lph fuel pump.
I’m getting really high fuel pressure even with the adjustment screw all the way loosened. Like 88psi. Is this bad? What can I do to get lower idle fuel pressure?
Just threw a 450lph fuel pump, SS lines, regulator and rail in my car. I want to start it up to check for leaks and what not, maybe drive it around in a bit. Do I have to rewrite the fuel pump since it’s a 450?
No cracks. The back support plate has a bit of surface rust, nothing a bit of sand paper won’t solve. Selling because I found these in the back of my car after I bought a pair from someone else on DSMTuners.
$100, buyer pays shipping.
Hey all,
I read an older thread about a cheap manual boost controller that actually worked. This one: https://www.amazon.ca/Manual-Boost-Controller-Adjustable-14-5x10-5x3-8cm/dp/B078RMNQCV/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1549498443&sr=8-1&keywords=nxs+boost+controller
I’ve decided to buy it to see how it...
