as the title says i have a 1999 eclipse with the 4g64 motor when i shift for example from 2nd gear into 3rd the car itself actually shuts off (lights cut on, on the dash, no powersteering, ect ect) until i put it into gear and press on the gas. Any ideas of what it could be?
Would also make the car shut off while shifting basically when shifting the lights on the dash would come on and the car would be off until i put it in gear and press on the gas

It stalled really hard while changing gears when taking it back on and after that well like said before. No crank start or click all the lights and stuff work as normal
Now i feel completely dumb as shit i didnt do my own timing i allowed someone else to do it. I jus looked at the timing marks......the cam was way off. How likely is it that the motor is fried
Alright heres the update i found the leak and fixed it (oil pump seal) seen oil which looked like it came from the exhaust manifold gaskets so i replaced the valve cover gasket last night. Started it up this morning (it has the infamous lifter tick).
Well i drove it litterally around the block...
I thought the balance shaft belt was jus to quiet vibration. I believe when it broke it could have broken the crankseal behind the timing belt. Seeing how the oil pump is run off the timing belt.
