    ECMlink PiLink - Owners Thread

Ok I think im going to splice into pin 103 which I have as the battery backup power (constant 12v)

    ECMlink PiLink - Owners Thread

How did you guys wire up the Red (power) for the box. Im looking at diagrams but am worried about blowing a fuse if I connect it to a wire coming from the ECU. Any input is appreciated!

    1G transmission"options"

The way to tell the cables apart is by the adjustment on the shifter base. The 90 cables are adjustable on both. On 91 cables only one cable is. Now you shouldn't need to change cables if you have 90s as they are adjustable. The only combo that wont work is the 91 cables on a 90 trans.

2G I’m ready. Please teach me! Looking for part recommendations.

I had a similar situation when it comes to money when I got mine. I would say get 1200s if you ever plan on going e85 you will max out 600s quick. as for pump a 255 is good. I would say do clutch 1st as its likely stock clutch. As for turbo 16g would be good if you have the budget but I would...

    Civic Half rad swap???

Might be a little late but Im running a 3 inch Honda half rad with a puller fan. Car has a 180 degree thermostat but never goes above 190. If you get a race quality Honda half rad it will pry be better but again this is a light to light car and not a handling/ daily build.

1G To weld the center diff or not That is the question!

Yeah no this would be a street car. I don't street park it so it would never be parallel parked. I was just worried about maybe breaking more drive train parts if I welded it. Its on street tires
  11. Charliethatguy

1G To weld the center diff or not That is the question!

Ok I mostly do street pulls and only take it out for a highway or strip cruise. I just read that the stock 2 gear can cause strain on other drivetrain parts and make them break sooner. If I would weld it I would have jacks do it when I send them my gear sets so the quality wouldnt be an issue...

1G To weld the center diff or not That is the question!

Ok So here is the deal. I have the common 2nd gear grind in my trans and am looking to do a rebuild. I have done some research and one of the mods I see guys talking about is Welding the center diff. I have read the threads and some swear by them and some say to stay away. My main question is at...

Thanks man I will look into it. I appreciate the help!
  20. Charliethatguy

ECMlink Load factor reads to high.

Ok you mentioned the lines. What does that mean? I have people around me who can help but I dont even know how the ecu calculates load. If I knew that I could look at / replace components.
  21. Charliethatguy

ECMlink Load factor reads to high.

Oh opps lol, I mispoke. So yes its reading to low. I couldnt find anything online explaining where the ecu gets this data from or what would cause it to read this way.
  22. Charliethatguy

ECMlink Load factor reads to high.

Hey so today we were tuning the car after I just got the ecu back from ECM. We noticed that the load factor was reading at .15 as upposed to .3 or .4 does anyone know what effects this or what would cause this. No codes Or anything on the dash and everything looks good apart from the load factor...

New to DSMs and need advice

Welcome! Glad were getting new people. First thing I would do would be to turbo it with like a 14b or 16g. Something small to make it fun but not break stuff. You wont make much more power with an n/a motor. Good luck!

    ECMlink Breaking up under boost?

I would try gaping the plugs a little tighter. Mine did that when they were to big. fine at cruise but at high rpm it would buck. I went to .027 .026 and it helped a lot.

    ECMlink Flex Fuel Question

    ECMlink Flex Fuel Question

Ok so I'm thinking about installing a flex fuel setup on my 1992 Eagle Talon TSI. I have done some research and people seem torn as to where to mount the sensor. Some say to mount it before the fuel rail others (ECMwiki) say to mount it after the rail and before the fuel pressure regulator. What...

Got the injectors and fuel filter installed this weekend. Sadly when trying to tune it the ecu fryed and wasnt firing the injectors :( will be sending the ecu out to ecmlink for a rebuild on monday. Hopefully in that time the car will get all its ground wires redone.

2G Injectors, go big or go home?

I have been told that when it comes to injectors anything over 1200cc Low z Idles like crap. It all depends on how much power your end goal is and what fuel you want to run (E85 needs more fuel) FIC has a chart on their website to help you determine injector size. Put in the fuel pressure and...

    2G vs 1G!

I like the handling of the 2gs but I love the 1g interior its so much more driver focused and makes me feel like I'm in a racecar. Also I'm partial because the stock 2g wheel hits my knees because I'm too tall.
  38. Charliethatguy

    Eagle Talon Tsi "Corinta"

First Mod being done is Fuel (again) Those PTE injectors are just too small and old to be good so I picked up a set of FIC 1250 injectors as well as a Warbro 450 fuel pump. We threw the pump in so quick I dont have photos but will provide some when I install the injectors this weekend. I also...
