    14b Limits?

    I was the original 14b that was ported along with a stock motor and trans. All of which had like 154,000 miles on them. Also had evo fmic, 550s, afc neo, 2g mas, 3" turboback, ported evo3 o2, ported 2g manifold, act 2100 and flywheel. I'm sure there was more but i forget.

    Talk about bringing a thread back from the dead.... lol. Long story short, the best I could muster was a 13.1@107 on 93 octane thanks to some shitty tires and trans was going out. Trans ended up blowing a couple weeks later, and I was forced to sell the car =(

    Hey man , good numbers! :thumb: Was this on race gas or 93? If it was 93, You might wanna think about richening it up a little except from 3500-4500 and lean that section out like tqmx1 said. It's not dangerously lean everywhere else, but I would aim more for 11.0:1 just to be safe.

    I'm running an afc neo right now. I tuned it at my buddy's shop on their dyno with a wideband. My AEM wideband will be here tuesday. I had a logger but my palm pilot broke, so I have a new one coming this week also.I am shifting out of 1st and second at about 6800 and shift into 4th around 6400.

    Does the car run fine otherwise? Try a leakdown test to try and find out where you are losing compression. Maybe all you need is some headwork. While your in there, just throw some goodies in ;)

    450's will work but I'd keep the boost at stock levels. 650's are what you should get with the 16g, more than enough to max out the 16g. You need some type of fuel management. an SAFC will work ok with the 650's just be careful with the timing advance. A good idea would be to get a chip burned...

    Yea I did all of the tuning myself. I've done all the work on my car myself, with the exception of the clutch and flywheel, I just didnt feel like doing it on jackstands in my garage.

    I'm just looking for more ways to improve power on the 14b. I do still need a front mount, but other than that I have all supporting mods. I guess some intense dyno time will get me where I want to me.

    It was only 3 baseline runs, but I'm friends with the guy that dynoed my car, so I had him lean it out after the first 2 runs, and it was still rich. I really dont wanna mess with it much until I get a wideband. Either way, the car pulls hard and smooth, and I'd rather be rich than lean anyways.

    I just installed some 550's and an afc neo. At 16 psi on a 14b, no matter what i set the afc at I start getting really bad knock right around 5000 rpms. I am also seeing up to 3200 Hz of airflow. Is it just me or does that sound really high?

    Well i guess I'll be taking the turbo off for the 3rd time again this weekend haha. I'm gonna port the living hell out of it. Then I'll throw the rest of my toys on. I read somewhere that i should richen up the idle or 1000 rpm by like 10% with the 1g mas and 550s, does that sound right?
