sorry to bring up a semi old post again ... but I'm having this issue now as well. I cant figure it out and was wondering if anyone has a fix for this yet...(new timer maybe?) ...as for the guy that does not like the noise from the timer, you can turn the sound off by holding in one of the...
To the original poster of this thread... I know you said you were going to check out the lawyer that was refered to you ... but make sure you have a lawyer on this one. All the stuff you are doing like taking pics and making the video are all great. The more work you do for your lawyer the less...
if you are just replacing the gasket and dont plan on going with big mods like a big turbo or somthing than the fel-pro one is fine. The cometic that I used has proven itself on motors with 900hp and pushing 32psi.
this is the set I bought from autozonehttp://www.pickproparts.com/pictures/single.aspx?linecode=fel&partnum=HS9627PT1The pic says 93-94.. my car is a 90 but the head gasket is the same part # 9627PTI used all of it exept the head gasket itself. lemme know.......
to give you an idea. I bought the complete felpro gaskets set for the head. I used every gasket exept the head gasket itself. I went with the cometic because it is superior to the felpro. I called cometic straight to the factory and gave em the specs to my motor (bore and all that) and they sent...
Id still buy it even if the motor was shot... as long as it has a good block to rebuild. That has project car written all over it. Sounds like fun. :thumb:
if you dont have a logger yet ... ask for somthing like that.maybe sombody can get you the palm and sombody else get you the cable and then just use the freeware like MMcD or somthing.
he said where in the o2 housing .. :rolleyes:here are a couple threads on the topic even though you have made up your mind:http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116765&page=1&pp=25http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=104367if I were doing the...
for those of us that live in phoenix their is a place called BAP auto imports. They sell the plugs for $1.75 each. I usally buy a few sets at a time when i go in, if they have that many in stock. They usally do.
I had some work done on my car when it all the sudden one day decided not to start. It turned out the coil transistor went bad. They had so many things off the car like the CAS, coil pack, stuff like that... well when they got it running again it was not running quite right. I figured that they...
I think its the end of another Linken Park song .. dont know wich one and im not totally certain ... im sure if you listen to you local alterative station for a few hours you will find out :p
I love my magnaflow setup... its got a perfect low tone at idle and a superb sound through the full power band. Ive heard just about all the exhaust setup's out there, and my magnaflow keeps the smile on my face everytime that honda next to me with their "dirt bike" sounding exhaust setup...
I like Magnaflow... I have a magnaflow exhaust on my turbo awd and its sounds great. They have good cats too.. even the universal ones. My car does not sound ricey at all.....
any performance car is going to nickle and dime you... If it were me id fix the clutch and wheels and keep on driving. Remeber its a love-hate relationship with our cars. I just look at it like this ... I could be spending 250 - 300 a month on a new car with a warranty or i could just keep this...
I wouldnt go to a dealer for no silly bolts .. id go to a junkyard before id go to the devil. Not sure of any sites that would sell em. Hopfully sombody else does. good luck :talon:
not sure on the exact size. But usally at a hardware store such as lowes or home depot they will have a bolt measuring thing that will find the exact size of the bolt and thread. All you need to know after that is the length.
actually ive never seen sombody try and solder one together :) the bosch one comes with wire connectors that are fully enclosed when you are done.. however I think I will buy the NGK oem style one. I found it cheaper and its the whole oem 02 sensor (no splicing) Thanks for all the help guys ...
Not to get off topic about the balance shafts, but are the belts in correct tension? This would not cause a misfire unless it was very very off .. just curious and is their and other noises like a whining or somthing coming from that area?
I need a new o2 sensor for my talon. I went to autozone and checkers and it looks like both of em only carry a universal one for my car. The guy at autozone says (which could mean nothing) that the universal one will suck for my car. Is this true? has anyone had any problems with a universal...
If you have access to another ecu I would try that first. Even though your other one looked fine. It sucks that its a problem only some of the time. I would first try another ecu though. That is the best place to start considering that you have replaced just about everything else. when the car...
I went with a cometic head gasket when I did mine. Also it doesnt matter how many miles are on that T- belt. If you are taking it off then replace it. They are not that expensive and its definatly the best insurance you can buy when doing that job.
maybe its just a mind trick and you feel like its sluggish.. If everything is boosting the same and the car is still running fine, then I cant see why it would cause a problem.
as far as the tune up goes... basically replace your plugs and wires with NGK's. Even if its not a turbo..those plugs and wires perform better in our cars. So get NGK's they are cheap and are the best. Change your oil and check all other fluids. They may need to be changed as well but at least...
It started a few months ago and ive been to lazy and busy to really check into it... But my turbo timer will start counting down when I turn on the turn signal. Left or right, it doesnt matter it will start counting down. I checked just about every fuse and I dont think thats the problem. Just...
also if the fuel pump is slowing down or getting tired it may take a bit for the pressure to rise. If you do as said above, and turn the key to on and wait for about 10 sec to make sure its pressurized then try to start it. If this solves the problem, then get a new fuel pump. And if you need to...
did you check your fuses?..not sure if that effects every gauge but I know the other day my RPM gauge, radio and cigarette lighter plug used for my radar detctor stopped working. I checked all the fuses and none were blown but all the sudden everything started working again. I must have pulled...
im sure its fine.. One time I was teaching my friend to drive a stick in my old 78 MGB and he was going to shift from 2nd to 3rd and it was already past time to put it into third when he put it into first ... he let out the clutch and we had to peal our faces off the windsheild. But it was still...
I wonder if the same results hold true for our turbo's.. i would assume so if they claim the oil was better for the motor after 3k miles .. but i want some real hard facts about the oil and its conditions after running over 3k miles through my 16g
Id be happier hearing it than not hearing it... it means that your tank is holding pressure and there is no leaks. ... Thats a good thing by the way. ;)
i didnt see him ask about porting the head .. he said turbo, O2 housing and possibly manifold. I think those would definatly be ok to port without a flow bench. Be carful on the turbo though. This link will help you understand better about porting. They are porting heads in this link but the...
somone already said 1G head .. but if not the whole head, then at least the cams for an upgrade to the 2g's ... same goes for the 2G exhaust mani for an upgrade to the 1G's
