Technically it was the 2nd alternator I replaced. The first one(also from the same store) lasted around 3 months and took a shit. Replaced it under warranty and so far it’s been getting my car started and everything. Although granted I have a cheap ass Walmart battery, it doesn’t hold a charge...
Anyone know of where to find the relays for all my lights? All my light flicker when my car first starts up, goes away when warm(idling) then start up again when I’m anywhere between 2700-4000rpms and then again when I slow down. It’s such a nuisance
Thanks for the info. But I do know how to properly install a system although it’s just an amp and sub. Nothing extra added to it. I will look into a capacitor soon and see if that helps any and then go from there. Although I haven’t had any problems with blinking lights before until lately. But...
Oh the joys of this damn car hahaha. I’m not going to give up on this pain. This year has definitely been a real test of my patience and limitations. She hit the big 20 and it’s like almost everything decided to break this year lol
So I’m having another issue. For some reason the last few weeks my cars headlights and all of my interior lights have been blinking. I’m not really sure why and it only seems to happen around 3k rpm’s and also the subwoofer kicks in and out with them. Does anyone possibly know what could be...
That’s what the transmission shop said. Check engine light came on, pulled the code and it said it was the solenoids. They said they checked out the solenoids and said they were fine and that they were going to test the tcm. That was this morning. Still haven’t heard back from them
My eclipse has the 4g64 motor so idk. I have read that there are other Mitsubishi vehicles that share some of the same parts. I’m still highly doubtful it’s my issue. But the transmission is under warranty so i have to jump through their hoops:banghead:
If this is the wrong area. Lmk. But I am possibly looking for a new(used) tcm. I don’t think I actually need one. Not gonna go into great detail but will know more hopefully Monday. So if anyone has one or a link to find one it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Ok so I still haven’t gotten her running yet. Time and money are my issues but I have decided that I am making her my project car and will start building it hopefully soon. My main concern is just getting her running so I can put her in storage somewhere safe while I save up the money to start...
Ok thanks. I’ll check it out later. My one day off and I’m going to make some extra cash to help get my pain in the ass back on the road:banghead::dsm::p
It’s drivable with it unplugged, I just burn through gas more than I should. With it plugged in, whenever I’m at a dead stop and hit the gas. The motor gets bogged down and I have to stomp on the pedal a few times before it goes. A lot of people tell me “your car runs without it plugged in?” And...
I’m hoping it’s nothing internal (fingers crossed) I do know of a shop down here the specializes in my car which I am thinking of taking her to, to see if they can figure out what’s wrong. I know it will cost me a little bit but at least I know I will get a diagnosis and be able to figure out...
Maf sensor’s 1: I’ve had somewhat of a difficult time finding for my motor 2: are damn expensive lol. My car runs normalishhh with it unplugged I just burn through gas. But that’s not the issue I need to face at the moment.Skipped timing? How can that be fixed? The loose timing belt will...
I had gotten my car back from have the transmission finally rebuilt after 20yrs of loyal service(not all mine) on a Thursday morning, and the next night I was out running around with my car crew, I heard a slight banging type noise(thought it was one of my led underglow lights) checked...
Now even more bad news....with all the stress of everything today....I can’t remember how all the bolts go and I’ve been trying one by one and I’m just about to lose hope and say screw it
Well......bad news:...wrong effin part. But I was able to borrow the tools to do it myself. Unfortunately no one local has the right part. Rockauto is the only place I can find it so far. So now I’m just putting everything back together and praying that my car will stil be drivable
Thank you everyone for all the helpful advice and information. Now I just have to find the time. Hopefully tomorrow since I don’t have to work until late evening. But it’s much appreciated:)
Thanks. I have the part now. But still totally clueless. My first dsm. My mobile mechanic seems to be busy asf and I’m trying to get this done ASAP. I’ve searched all over YouTube and the interwebs and can’t find any videos on how to do this.
I drive a 99 eclipse spyder gs. First thought I was going through some major transmission problems. Wasn’t shifting properly...recognized P,R, and D but nothing else. Was stressed out...finally got the time to go get the codes pulled and come to find out the solenoid control pack is bad(major...
Well I priced a new exhaust system(catback) from a local place $650 and explained my situation with him and said magnaflow would be my best bet for quietest with a good sound to my car! Seems like a fairly decent price. And thanks for all the help everyone has given me so far. :)
Also, any tips on exhaust systems for my Eclipse that's not horribly loud and sounds good? Reason I ask is because I reside in a 55+ community and don't wanna piss people off when I come home at 2-3am(no one not that old lol)
Because when the maf sensor is plugged in it makes the engine sputter and I have to pound the gas pedal a few times to get it going and when it's unplugged it runs fine. Just eats thru gas
I look at the tread you linked me to and thanks. I have saved the PDF list and will see what the future will hold for my car. Also, I'm probably going to be redoing the exhaust system. Any suggestions on what I should go with that's not going to excessively loud?
Will do when I get the time. Working 6 days a week gives me very little time to do a lot and as far as maintaince, need to replace MAF sensor and valve cover gasket. Oh and also exhaust system. But other than that some cosmetic work. The top, front bumper and a new paint job. I've already done a...
Ok so, if I'm posting in the wrong area? I apologize, I just joined and I've been going thru some of the threads. Just don't have all the time in the world to go thru EVERYTHING!!! Anyways to the pointMy car: 99 eclipse spyder gs sohc 2.4 non turbo auto.I'm looking into boosting the hp but...
