Awesome actually that first thread shows where the upper tab bolts down & it's to the little bracket on the big water pipe as I suspected. You cant really see it because it's under that rubber hose. At any rate I'll take a pic and throw it on here later just incase someone else needs it, just...
Cool that helps for the bottom mount, thanks! Now does anyone know where the upper tab bolts to?I actually found that pic earlier but cant find the complete pic of that hose, I suppose does it even matter where I secure it?
I understand it's not from the block but it has 2 tabs that bolt to the block to secure it! I'm just trying to figure out where I'm supposed to bolt it on the block! It goes from the oil cooler to the water fill housing!
Sorry guys been looking everywhere for an image of where the small hard coolant line bolts to on a 95/96 GSX block. Couldn't find a good image if there already is one, I do have the manual but it's very vague as to where I'm supposed to bolt it.I know where the hose ends are supposed to go & i...
I just want to say I just fixed my issue which is exactly the same as yours and since the coolant temp wires tend to get hot & cold, all the time the wires get brittle so I had to completely replace the wires into the loom about 8 to 10 inches. The one thing which pointed me to it was my fans...
Wow man thanks that helps a lot. I knew about the plug wires needing to be swapped but had no idea about the plug wires being out of phase. But it makes complete sense, the way it’s acting and just everything it’s doing.. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Man your gonna have so much fun with it! What are your plans for the car? Be sure to do your research and know your differences between years and what parts will work for you because this site is a great resource and you can get a lot of great parts for cheap here! Good luck and don’t hesitate...
First is to make sure you have slack because the engine likes to move in all sorts of directions and wires expand and contract with temperature. Then I like to strip the wires about a half inch from the ends. Don’t twist them up yet! Get your other end and push the frayed ends into each other...
Well if you bought it as a project for something to do stick with it man. There fun little cars and great tools to learn with. Also parts aren’t really to expensive and have great mod abilitie.
Also make sure all boost leaks are gone they have been a huge plague that has messed with me and my setup for a while. It can cause all sorts of issues that you wouldn’t even think of including idle issues and power loss. Not sure if this will help but it can’t hurt to check.
Contrary to popular belief crankwalk is not a common cause for engine failure in the 7 bolt set up. Many think or heard oh my engine failed and since it did it must be crankwalk. Well these cars are getting old in age and are over 20 years old. They have sorted this problem out long ago also...
I know it’s the basics and quite obvious to do, but often over looked. When Assembling new brakes be sure to clean off all surfaces where the pads contact the calipers. Then use which ever brake lube on those contact surfaces. I use anti seize. Also since there a frequent item be sure to anti...
It very well could be your problem, I have ran into the problem of lines having corrosion where you can’t see it on the terminal but it goes through the center of the bundle of wires causing a poor if not bad connection. Double check at various points of the ground and hot wires for corrosion in...
Hi all I’m an ok mechanic, newish to DSM’s. Unfortunately I was bit by the DSM bug and now all my extra money is going to that one extra part I absolutely need.. lol.. I am having a slight issue I have a 95 gsx and it’s got a 97-99 style CAS, with a 97 gst ECU and I can’t get the dam thing to...
Wow dusty your a wealth of knowledge.. thanks! I need it..a lot of things I can try. I’ll give it a try tomorrow morning and let you guys know what happens.
Yea I know just was seeing if the cas being from a 97-99 would be compatible with a 95 ECU.. thank you everyone for the valuable information! I’m glad there is a site like this.
Sorry I mean its supposed to be on the driver side of the head right behind the cam gear, reading the Reluctor on a 95-96 head. Whoever built it last may have mixed and matched wrong year parts and the cas is on the passenger side of this head reading off the end of the camshaft, which I believe...
Yea it just keeps cranking over and over again. I figured the cam angle sensor out of place was bad but I’m not even sure if it’s a 95 ECU.All the kid new that I bought it from was the engine had been rebuilt or replaced.
I recently bought a 95 gsx. I am having issues with it starting. Its cranking over, got spark and fuel. Although I have no info on it but it has been rebuilt. Also the cam angle sensor is on the passenger side of the head instead of riding on the inside of the cam gear. Will that throw the ECU...
Very nice thanks for all the great info especially the bit about the free power mods. I definitely will take advantage of those. I actually don’t have the car yet, although I have 2 stock blocks I’m building. I can’t seem to find a mostly stock 2g around where I live. So I decided to build the...
So I’m building a 4g63 for a 2g and I know I can put rockers out of an evo in the head but I’m not sure which ones. Does anyone have a part number or a list of cars and years that had them? And any other ideas for a Mitsubishi original parts I can throw at it from different cars/engines to get a...
Yea it’s been cold here in Colorado except the last 2-3 days we had some good weather to wrench.. pulling apart my junkyard find now! Seeing if it is any good! 96 4g63 with 110k mi on it , fun fun!
I see, just getting on board with the dsm community and I’m excited. I have 2 4g63 blocks I’m going through and am waiting for taxes to get a 2g eclipse/talon gsx/Tsi!! Much to learn!
