    99 GSX Street beast

Finally had a minute to mess with the car and install some long awaited parts. Super happy with the carbonetics front lip and rear diffuser. After seeing these parts I think I'm going to add the carbon side skirts next. Love the way these look on the car. Been trying to sort a couple issues with...

    99 GSX Street beast

Got the car out again today and just cleaned it up. Took it for another ride and everything is functioning great still. Still working to get some air out of the power steering and need to finish putting the interior back together but it's been either miserably hot or pour rain here lately so...

The brembos are officially on, bled and road tested. What a difference these brakes make. These things grab really hard, couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. Bleeding the brakes was a marathon but after borrowing a buddies snap on vacuum bleeder it made my life much easier. My car has...

    99 GSX Street beast

More progress today. Everything is mocked up / bolted up / fit tested. Proper clearance all around, no issues. Ready for bleeding. Ignore that rotor being on the wrong side, I fixed that. Really impressed with just how good these look, they fill the wheel space incredibly well and these really...

Got the rears all bolted up today. Pretty simple, and they look great. New wheel bearings should be here tomorrow so I can bleed the fronts and get them all back together. Can’t wait to see the finished result!

    99 GSX Street beast

Been dormant for a few due to work and other car projects. But finally got started on the brembo swap today. Can’t tell you how excited I am to get these together. I’m going the jdm galant knuckle route. New bearings, hubs, knuckles, and evo 8 front and tears with the associated goodies. Hawk...

Busy, busy, busy... New Koyo radiator went in with a single FAL slim puller. Couldn't fit 2 fans with the T3 manifold yet, so basically made my own single fan setup with the brackets I had and it came out great. Really glad to have the old banged up OEM radiator out of there. Flushed coolant and...

Little more interior bits today. Reinforced the glove box metal frame because the plastic bits of the dash were broken. So cut these pieces off some table saw clamps because who the hell needs those. Worked out real well, no more floppy glovebox. Took the sun roof out to try and get it less...

    99 GSX Street beast

Little more work on the interior today. Real happy With the gray doors and black inlays. They came out great. Only tricky part was getting the 3 screws behind the defroster duct. I drilled out 2 5/8 holes to get to the top corner ones. Plugged the holes up with interior trim caps after the swap...

    99 GSX Street beast

Finally got to spend some good time on the car and gathering some more parts. Took a drive out to CT to pickup a complete, very nice gray, interior. I don't love the tan, so I'm going to be going with a gray and black combo instead, because I love the black dash, black wheel etc. I think it's...

    99 GSX Street beast

Mounted this little carbon 3rd brake light cover on the car today. I used JB weld plastic epoxy to bind it to the piece. I used a full syringe and about 6 clamps to hold it in place for over 24 hours. Wanted to give it plenty of time to set up and cure. I think it is going to hold up real well...

    99 GSX Street beast

Had a few minutes to myself in the garage and decided to see what these RPF's will look like. Actually love the look with the drag radials on there. With plans for more road track use though I'll be putting a new set of tires on these. Once I compile all the parts for my suspension, wheel...

    99 GSX Street beast

Well it was a good day today. Sold my WRX to free up some cash, and like any good DSM'er I put it straight into parts. Picked up a nice set of RPF 1's 17x8 on brandy new Hoosier slicks and some evo 8 Brembo fronts today from a local guy in the community. I love the current wheel and tire setup...

    99 GSX Street beast

Been laid up for a few weeks following surgery, but it was a nice day out today so got out and moving in the garage for a bit and decided to tackle a simple little project. Added the bumper shutters to the car today and I'm really pleased with how they look. Nice to block off the giant fog light...

Motor Assembly Goodies. Love the gold powdercoating. Can't wait to repaint this engine bay to make it really pop in there though.Going to need a bigger garage....Already ordered the carbon bumper shutters and looking forward to putting a carbonetics splitter / diffuser on this someday.

    99 GSX Street beast

Here we go again. After a couple years being clean I couldn't pass on the opportunity to scoop this 99 GSX up. This is my first eclipse after coming from 3 different Talons and I'm really excited to make this thing a damn near perfect 600HP street car. It came with all the goodies but it needs a...

Hey @tommiman Thanks for reaching out, and glad to meet you. If you're ever in the area just let me know! Feel free to DM me if you want to know more about what I've been up to, I'm pretty close to finishing what my goals were for the car. Thanks, John

    First 2G street car

Well sadly due to the corona nonsense the tuner is pretty backed up and working by himself basically, have to delay getting my car in. At least she’s running strong and the weathers been good.

    First 2G street car

So I finished up the battery relocation to the trunk and everything is running great and working as it should. Very happy with how the project turned out. Also struck some gold this week and found a local dam’er selling off a brandy new VIS carbon hood, so I picked that up for a great price and...

    First 2G street car

This week is all about relocating the battery and what I'm calling the ghetto wire tuck. I've been wanting to do this for a while but for me to pull the entire Harness and extend it to where I want just is not an option right now as I'm rushing to put it back together for its tune appointment...

Battery Relocation, beating a dead horse

There are 2 off of the altenator to the fuse box and then 4 wires out of the fuse box that go straight to the positive terminal on the battery in a factory setup. I think I've overcomplicated this and will just send those 4 wires and the starter wire to the busbar and keep the factory fuse box...

Battery Relocation, beating a dead horse

Ok so as long as you have have an inline circuit breaker from the altenator back to the + post you can just eliminate those 4 wires all together? That's where I'm getting confused. If I just run 2ga from the positive post to the starter / altenator then I don't need those 4 white wires correct...

Battery Relocation, beating a dead horse

Yea I feel like a lot of the threads related to this have gone way above and beyond what is necessary to move the battery to the trunk. There's been some heated debates in the threads I've read through. Today I picked up all the parts and order the stuff I couldn't find at the stores. I'm going...

Battery Relocation, beating a dead horse

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I'll be going with the second diagram I posted. Just picked up most of the supplies I need but couldn't find a bussbar, distribution box or any of the good in line fuses at the local parts stores so I'm ordering those. And yes @llxkevinxll I'm going to have...

Battery Relocation, beating a dead horse

This is the other diagram I found that seemed appropriate. Only thing I noticed to fix was beefing up the fuse to the alternator to at least a 100amp fuse.

Battery Relocation, beating a dead horse

Hey guys, I know this is a topic that has been beat to death and I have done a lot of searching in the forums and read through many threads the last few nights. What I'm looking for is confirmation on a diagram I am going with for my battery relocation. Will it work and is it safe? There are a...

    First 2G street car

Finally got the car all back together, in total it ended up being like a week long project to mount the FMIC and swap the turbo's and manifold around, but so far I'm happy and it was worth it to me. Car is now running at 14lbs on the 20G as I'm trying to keep the boost relatively low while I...

    First 2G street car

Got to spend quite a bit of time working on the talon yesterday. The project was to get the FMIC mounted up and add in the new 20G turbo and FP manifold combo. It was a long day but pretty happy with the results. The new turbo and manifold are all bolted in and it looks awesome. Running an MVS...

    Quarantine Questions

Good info, thanks dude. Got to spend about 8 hours today messing around with the car. So the new turbo setup is mounted up and looks awesome and got the FMIC bolted where I want it. Hopefully will have it all back together on wednesday and can go for a startup!

    Quarantine Questions

I still run off the blackbox and car is tuned through ceddymods. And yea the plan would be to stay pretty conservative and turn the boost down a bit until its ready to be tuned properly.

    Quarantine Questions

Thanks for the feedback. I currently run the blackbox ecu and car is tuned off of ceddymods so I'm not sure about remote tuning options and such with that setup. Appreciate the shout out though thanks!

    Quarantine Questions

Evening Gents,So with all the quarantine stuff going on I've been doing a lot of tinkering on my 2G and cleaning things up and such. This season there were big plans to swap in the freshly built motor I've got waiting and adding my FMIC, and upgrading to the 20G turbo. Currently car is tuned...

    First 2G street car

More quarantine fun this week. Went ahead and tackled the fuel pump yesterday, and removed the 195 and added in the new 255 which should be enough to reach my goals for the new motor and turbo setup. Fuel pump wasn't too bad but ran into an issue with the o-ring not seating properly in the...

New Fuel Pump and car is rich

Spot on guys thanks for the suggestions. When I removed the pump again the black o-ring didn't seat properly and I forgot to add this spacer in there so naturally it was my own error and nothing wrong with the pump or regulator. Regulators set and shes running like a champ now, so I appreciate...

New Fuel Pump and car is rich

Voltage was good I did check that. So im guessing like you said and others I assembled the pump incorrectly. I'm going to pull the assembly back out which is awesome, and go back through the vfaq and see where it went wrong hopefully.

New Fuel Pump and car is rich

Hi steve, The pump has the orings on it, as far as a check valve I did not notice one or put one on it but I do have some kicking around. Are you referring to a check valve on the feed tube? And if it is leaking in the tank has it just not seated properly, or bad oring? either way Im going to...

New Fuel Pump and car is rich

Thanks for the like, I dig yours as well. Its the fuel lab guage that came with it. I originally thought bad gauge as well, but it was reading perfectly prior to putting the 255 in So i think like others have mention it is leaking in the tank.

New Fuel Pump and car is rich

Hey Guys... Here we go... about 3 weeks ago I installed a fuel-lab AFPR in my car to prepare for a new wally 255. At the time I had a 195 pump in there and set my regulator to 43PSI and had zero issues, car ran great, regulator did its job perfectly. Today I threw in the new 255 pump and I'm a...

    First 2G street car

Well it's been a minute since I've been on here but this quarantine life has free'd up some time to mess around with the talon a bit more. In the past few days I did a little reducing and deleting. Started by removing the cruise control components and added in a new non cruise throttle cable...

2G new fuel pump / fpr

yea the new pump and fpr will just help for my new turbo setup a little further down the road. Just hoping to take care of a few easy things myself before I send it out.
  48. jgio213

2G new fuel pump / fpr

Right so since the car didn't have an adjustable FPR when it was tuned, it should be around 42-45 psi?
  49. jgio213

2G new fuel pump / fpr

Hey guys, I'm upgrading my old 195 pump to a 255, and going the recommended route of adding in a fuel pressure regulator. Currently car is tuned for 20lbs on a 16g and FIC 750's. First question, is the recommended FPR psi still the 41-45 range? And second question, will I or should I need a...
