What up fellas!! I’m good. Not a whole lot here. Minor updates. Found a new old stock tensioner arm and bracket. Installed that and new oe ect sensor, coolant sensor for gauge, mpi relay, jmfab brake and clutch reservoir caps, new timing cover and installed a slim fan yesterday.I’ve had...
What’s up fellas! Been a minute. Think I found the issue with the hot no start which turned out to be no ground side control on inj circuit, ecu side. Sent the ecu in for inspection and they didn’t find anything. Dave did mention airflow and a few other things it needs to ground injectors...
When you change this section in DA openloopthreshold to the values you have, it's for ONLY cruise tuning to keep the car in closedloop longer and should not be doing any WOT pulls. Also, someone changed the fastidleiscpos settings for some reason.
On a 1g tb, the plate does sit at a slight angle. I assume the same applies to 2g. When you had the tb off, did you inspect the fiav? I found this yesterday on mine. Fiav adjustment doohicky backed out causing high cold start, about 2500rpms.
Yup. I can’t see them lasting forever. I compared the two I have before swapping them. While running under hot faucet water, the na closed fairly quickly and my original one barely moved. I assume this one doing the same. My isc doesn’t move for quite a while.
The only visual differences I see are isc opening and this stamp in the cast. But I’ve been thinking and they have to be different being from same years and having different part numbers. Maybe the fiav opening is larger for the 3kgt since it has two more cylinders. 🤷🏻♂️I currently have a...
What’s the part number for turbo fiav?
And are turbo fiav same as non turbo?
3000gt fiav is part number MD614431 and looks identical. Anyone know if they’re compatible?NA part number is MD614373
I agree. Continuous clicking (not mentioned before) is a low battery. Doesn’t matter what voltage reads, CCA (cold crank amperage) is what it needs. This may also explain the windows not working. Bring your battery to the parts store and have them test it. Do this first before you start pulling...
The starter is grounded by the body bolting up to trans and starter plate.Only wires to the starter is a thick wire straight to battery positive, and another smaller gauge wire which is the starter signal (+12v when you turn key to crank position). Make sure to disconnect the battery when you...
Follow the thick wire attached to the negative at the battery. Think it attaches to the firewall as well for 2g.
On the harness that runs above the trans, you’ll see an eyelet. That attached to the starter bolt closest to the front of car.
Another ground is back of intake manifold to firewall...
With the resistor plugged in, check voltage at each of the black wire on each injector plug. Key on, take your multimeter one lead to ground and other lead to each black wire one at a time. They should all be the same voltage. If you suspect wiring/connector issue, wiggle the wires while...
I was thinking it would be around where his 1g sold for since 2g are more iconic. 2 days left so bidding war will begin soon. Let’s grab some popcorn. I’m going to say $41,500.
If you got it out, it should go back in. Compare the new and old wp to make sure they’re the same. If you’re still having trouble, try raising the engine a little, floor jack + piece of wood on oil pan.
To me it looks like it was repaired before and the base coat is now gone. I would consider blending if it wasn’t dead center. @SixBolt_16G curious if hood insulator present?
This is great advice. I don’t think you’ll have to and it depends how deep those crack are.Matt, yours was a driveway paint job??? Turned out awesome from what I remember. Most home paint job you can tell from feet away.
A gun is great and all but without a decent size compressor, it’s useless. I’ve tried an online paint match company and I wouldn’t recommend it. They sent me two cans and they were both off. Find a local paint shop. If they have a scanner, bring your car or the gas door (they need a flat panel...
I got the link to work. This is what you needSensor
http://thesensorconnection.com/egt-probe-thermocouples/sensors/exhaust-gas-temperature/egt_compression_fitting.shtmlThe sensor doesn’t come with a connector. If you don’t have the old sensor, you’ll need these.Connector - male...
I don’t want you to get the wrong sensor. They have straight and 90*. I’ve used both and the 90* just looks cleaner imo.Contact these people and they WILL get you the correct sensor. If you don’t have the old sensor, you will also need the connector for you application...
That’s the connector to the gauge. If you follow that harness, you should find another connector with two wires. Think post #7 has the correct sensor you need.
Yeah. Definitely wait for warmer weather and sand outside as it gets pretty messy. Wet the floor when you start painting to keep the dust down. It’s all prep work.
Not sure why he’s getting hate. He loves these cars just as much as the next guy. Restores them and sells it with no reserve. He’s not doing this to make money.
