Cars been on and off the road for a few years now. Ive kinda grown out of my dsm but every now and then i fire her up for a drive. So i started her the other day and everything was fine until the car reached its running temp. Than it dies. As soon as it hits running temp it stalls right out. Ive...
They did mine twice. Was a bi*** but i got it done. They say if they replace it once and it goes bad after a certain time period or mileage then it's on you. Which is what they tried pulling with me. Except with me they never changed the yoke the first time they did the recall which is the point...
how'd the mom or lawyer get your number unless you gave it to her? Why did you stay there for a half hour after you broke someones nose?
Something smells a bit fishy here.
OK ill give a brief description of my setup for those to lazy to check my profile. Im running on a 50 trim at 20 lbs with denso 660's, buschur fpr and 255hp, magnacore wires and ngk bpr7es. I use an safc and pocketlogger to tune.
I'd like to talk about the low throttle tuning. I origionally...
Im trying to better understand timing. I pretty sure i know the basics of timing like where mine should be on my logger. :o But why should it be there, i think a lot of us know what good advance is for our cars and what not but if I should decide to go with a stand alone or dsmlink sometime i...
torch it. if you get a bolt red hot they will sometimes break, if not burn it off and buy a new one. Its the last resort usually. I think i had to cut out my entire front suspension when i put my teins in.
I have a act 2600 with about 45000 miles on it driven hard. The clutch seems to be slipping but only when i shift hard. It does not do it at the top of gears or anything, its fine if i gas it all the way to redline except for when i go to shift then it feels like its slipping when i take my foot...
I would'nt consider buying this until i was making enough power to need it. Thats why theres not many people using them. Now if your making that much power this would be a huge benefit. I know i have trouble getting my BMtrans to shift at 7500 let alone at 9000 and im only making a little over...
These cars can play nasty games with your head, i always assume something horrible and most the time it's a bad ground, plugs or something stupid. Back to the subject, i try and change my plugs every oil change which is like 3500 miles. Just good practice i think. My car loves fresh plugs. As...
I'll bet you my dsm your running very rich. stop adding fuel and start taking it away. Look at your logs. Your adding fuel and your o2 voltages are going up take some away and they go down. That must tell you there working somewhat right. Get your o2 voltages to about .92 - .93 and then post a log.
The directions that came with the wastegate were not to good or at least i did'nt get much usefull info out of them. I have a mbc hooked up to the bottom port and the top port is open. I also did'nt change the spring. My question is should i change the spring and shims, do i need to? I plan on...
I just finished my agp 50 full garret kit. I also installed there fmic, 660s, afc, buschur fpr. I have a palm pilot with the pocketlogger program. I had the low throttle settings tuned within 2 minutes at the most just by holding my cars rpms equal with my afc rpm shift points and watched the st...
Kook, do you have any idea how far off the stock tach can be? When my stock tach says im at 7500 im actually only at 6500. Its not so bad at lower rpms but as the rpms come up it gets more and more inaccurate. Im not a big fan of monster tachs but i am a fan of accuracy.
I have an agp 50 trim full garrett turbo kit on the way and would like to have everything else when it gets here. Im not sure what size intake pipe i need for this turbo. I looked around and saw some people using 3" and some using 3.5". So what size is it?
Im just worried from what ive heard the 255 high pressure pump might raise my base fuel pressure and im concercned with not being able to turn it down. I was told with the buschur afpr i would only be able to turn the pressure up.
I plan on running a 255 high pressure fuel pump so i know i need a fuel pressure regulator. Choosing a fpr on other peoples impressions which vary so widely has'nt been helping me to much. My question is with this fuel pump will i need a fpr that is fully adjustable or will i be ok with say, the...
Ok, maybe i overreacted a bit with the class action suit.
The dealership said he spoke with the district rep or someone like that and they said that the recall had a warranty period of 12 months or 10,000 miles which im over by 5 months and 3000 miles. They also told me when i origionally had...
reading the newspaper reports i could do nothing but wipe tears from my eyes. I could picture the kid, sounds like most of us, loved life, living fast, very respectable and helpfull and had an extreme passion for his car. My prayers go out to his family.
My tears are shed more for the girl he...
Ok heres the story, on sept 04, 2002 i brought my car to freehold mitsubishi in nj to have it check for recalls. The dealer replaced the ball joints and transfer case under the recall. Now 1 year and 5 months later the transfer case is leaking right where the driveshaft connects to it and they...
Oh yeah, i forgot about the resetting. Everytime he started the car the settings went back to greddys factory settings.
Greddy is a big name, they dont need quality anymore to to sell there products. All the rich kids hear "GREDDY," and start spoogin there pants.:o
Do you have any idea what its like pulling the truth out of the rep on the phone. I dont know if they changed anything, they said they would send a new one, after they said they would not give a refund my friend got pissed told the rep where to put the ebc and hung up. If you got it brand new in...
The symptoms you say you had are so exact to what his car was doing its unbelievable! One run were like holy shoot boost gauge goes straight to 20lbs and holds through three gears, next pull same settings and he hits fuel cut at 22 lbs. So we mess with it get it to work again holds boost strong...
Just to let you know, i helped a buddy install one of these on his evo and we had the same issues. After calling greddy we learned there was some software issues with the controller. Hes tried that and the new evc and is now using a mbc if that tell you anything.
Just ground the o2 sensor out. I hoseclamped it to one of the exhaust hangars and reset the code(uplug the battery for a few minutes) and have'nt thrown a code yet, i dont know if its me or what but since that code has gone away my car has ran ten times better.
I've been using pirelli p7000 ss for a long time on my car, for a daily driver i would'nt pick anything else. For me they have awesome traction wet or dry. In the snow they also work very well if you drive with common sense and not like a soccer mom in a suv with 4 WHEEL DRIVE. Haha
Ive been using pirelli p7000 supersports for the past 4 years and for an all season tire id say there the best ive used. Traction wise there great, they're no drag radial but i have tons of confidence in them wet, dry, or in snow.
I here of other car owners using o2 simulators but have never heard from any other dsm owners about using one. I was just wondering if anyone did. Any info appreciated.
OK, i installed a dejon tool boost controller and upper intercooler pipe. First off no matter what i set the boost controller to it spikes an extra 2 -3 psi. The thing that has me a little bugged out is how the bov sounds like it's opening up every time i come into boost but not full throttle. I...
I bought the apc ones, cut them open and spray painted the inside black. Looks really good on a white car, especially with my 97-99 front bumper and black housing headlights. Im definately the only dsm in my area with em, at least that ive seen. I'll post pics later when my car is all back...
Ok this is a huge pain in the a$$. Passenger side axle came out no problem, driver sides a totally dif story. Had to heat the nut and use an impact gun we use to take lugs off my dads tractor/trailers. Then the real fun began, we beat the axle nut to pieces trying to pound the axle out of the...
I pulled the rubber back, and bam! oil all over my face. Well im replacing my pads, rotors, wheel bearings, axles, dust covers, drivers side steering knuckle and hub, oil cooler, rear o2 sensor and i'm changing downpipes so slave cylinder does'nt seem like such a bad job.
hmm, i feel like i...
Well im pretty sure i am going to go with an aftermarket setup. I am not sure what i would need and what this whole project involves, like deleting the stock oil cooler(is it a pain in the a$$) and also what kits work with my car and which ones work best. If anyone is running a aftermarket Oil...
What are my options as far as going with a stock replacement or aftermarket. Is it hard to hook up a air cooled system on a 2g? What kind of price difference am i looking at between stock and aftermarket units? Any help??
Ok i was driving and went to park in this dirt parking lot and an exhaust hanger hit a manhole, stretched the flex part of the downpipe about 8 inches, ripped the 2nd o2 sensor wires from the car. Question is where do the wire run from the o2 sensor, do they follow a line or something under the...
