You find them in packs and broken down/issues/blown motors down here in Florida. Sometimes you can get lucky but odds are against you. Took me over three years to get the one I have now. I debated going to Cali where there seems to be a never ending supply of them. People here sell them for way...
These motors aren't as forgiving as v8, ID suggest getting a manual and checking out the service limits. If things aren't in spec you'll have some big problems. That's why you find some of these cars cheap with lots of aftermarket parts and issues because they never got it right. If the motor is...
Good point. Ive got a trick I do to find vacuum links, might not work for you. But as one who vapes, I usually just take a huge puff from my e-cig and blow into an open vacuum line. if there is a leak somewhere i see it vapor trail, if not it usually just comes back out the air filter. The only...
Anytime a vehicle sits for a while you can kiss the gas quality good bye. I'd follow what has already been mentioned before but when you drain the tank, take the back sit out and remove the cover on the passenger side and remove the wiring and hoses on the cap there. I believe it's a 8mm to take...
Totally agree with ohming out the fan. Also just make sure the plug isn't expoded ground itself out. I'm not sure what the wiring looks like but on my car the fans have bullet connectors, which I hate anything crimp on. Might have been what the previous owner did, might be factory but I just cut...
Thanks guys for the suggestions. And yes the oil holes are small, seems the wearing closed them up. Or could have been from the wrong bearings from the beginning. The locks are also beaten out as well. Like I've posted before I know what I SHOULD do l what I'm stuck with is I have to run it like...

I've never had that issue before but I've always degreased the mounts and filled them up from one side to the other and feathered the ends. I had one on a car for five years. But I guess it's personal preference.
I'm sure you don't want solid mount for the reason that you want some kind of buffer in there so you don't twist things that should be twisted. I have a buddy that builds mud trucks, he had a truck they solid mounted to the frame. First time out he hit the gas and ended up twisting the frame...
To start off, here the deal, I know the info is out there, and I know what I SHOULD do. But for the sake of getting more road life out of this engine I'm not doing a full blown rebuild. It's just not in my budget and this is my DD. So I ended up getting this car about 3-4 weeks ago. Did some...
I don't think this thread will ever die, lol. I deleted the evap system and a/c. Now I'm tempted with repurposing the a/c expansion chamber(silver can on the a/c on the driver side under the lights) to a modded oil catch can. Also took out the cruise control module because it never worked...
Watch this video, Jafro breaks it down for you and even a helpful modded tool to loosen/tighten. I believe he explains how to do it without dsmlink to, but in the video he uses dsmlink. Side note for anyone that can't get .63 volts dead even(jumped to every number but .63) using dsmlink, make...
A sensor that can shut down spark such as crank/cam shaft angle sensor. If you've got a bad wire in the harness it might explain random shut off. But first before looking for a needle you need to find out if your compression is good. I can't remember the nubers I'm sure a quick search and turn...
Sorry I just reread what you said about the ignition, now I understand. So scratch the ignition switch, I'd lean more toward a sensor going out or a loose/cracked wire somewhere. I tried editing my post but didn't work.
First of all always remember you need three things to get an engine running, fuel, spark and compression. If you've replaced the crankshaft position sensor what about the camshaft position sensor? I got a gs eclipse for $500 because someone replaced that but mixed up the wires from the piggy...
I've been thinking about doing the same thing. An idea I've thought about is making mounts off the chassis like the stock splash guard on the driver side but for both sides. You already have bolt holes there. Then enclosing the bottom and sides with plexiglass panels. So for your application you...
