Another +1 for thermal! Mine came with the car when I bought it nearly stock four years ago. Daily drove it for about two years before building it and I have no complaints. Does not drone out and isn’t overly loud around town. Nice deep tone as well. I would upload a video, but it says the file...
Yes the demo videos are gold. Start with dialing in your idle then take a cruise log and run mafcomp to dial in your mass air flow sensor properly. From there you just do some wot logs and get your top end maf calibrated then it's just messing with the fuel/timing tables to get the most power...
That's what I did at first. It's good to get used to the program and how everything works first. Then you can see how things change once you begin to throw parts on and know what to do to get it to run properly the first time around.
Hmm I'd be interested to know what he changes in order to run with 0 dead time on that big of an injector. Never heard of that before. Whatever works though right!
@2gmitsueclipse im pretty sure I see you driving all over the auburn hills/lake Orion area. Straight exit exhaust right? Car looks and sounds dope. Haven't been able to make it out to the track, but here is a static.
That's awesome man I'm glad to hear you got it figured out and glad I could help. I was gonna say something about the throttle cable with the high idle, that's good that's all it was! Hopefully everything starts to line up with your fuel trims. Once I started driving and checking it is when I...
Sorry to double post, but I'm having thoughts pop up here. I had a problem where once i put in the bigger injectors I had to raise deadtime alot to get the front o2 to start cycling for some reason. Did you make sure your car is achieving closed loop after 15-20 seconds?
For sure. If they are brand new then hopefully that's not the problem. Make sure your isc position is good, hopefully it is if it idled fine with the old injectors. Just set the global for suggested and play with deadtime until combinedft is good. Maybe reset Mafcomp to get back to a good...
Did you install new injector bushings with the new injectors? Like the doughnut ones that go on the head at the bottom of the injectors. If not then I would suspect a leak from there for sure. Those things get hard as a rock when old and will never seal right especially when installing a...
By idle speed are you talking about your rpm? If so then yes you should get that to whatever your targeted idle rpm is in link. Make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks or anything and your logged isc position is 30 once fully warmed up. Also make sure your idle switch is working properly, best...
Play with dead time and mafcomp 50 hz slider until you get your .24-.27 airflowperrev and combinedft as close to 0 as possible. I only have rc 550cc in my car, but had similar issues after installing them. It took some serious adjusting back and forth for some reason, but just playing with it...
You are correct @biglady112 it is caused by an overrun of the maf. I was rambling and got ahead of myself. I meant to refer that to his lean af readings on boost.
Do a boost leak test man. Even if you don't think you have one, you probably do if you haven't tested. My car was running strong as hell at 18psi with nothing close to a hiccup. Then I installed my fmic and hard piping and bam fuel cut right at 5k. I was so pissed, I mean I cranked down all the...
Thanks man I was actually just doing some research and found both of those ha, research goes along way. Ya you're right about location haha idk where I was thinking it was, but I was way off. A bit late in the year for Woodward, but I'm out there on any given weekend cruising around if you find...
Hmm ya idk if it would since it's labeled for turbo vehicles. Wouldn't be a bad idea to look into it tho, you never know! Btw, how often do you pass 100mph? Haha
I just spent the last two days reading over this build and the only thing I have to say is you sir are a wizard. The attention to detail and drive to do everything correctly is what these older dsm's need. I wish I had the time/space/money to do the same. One day... awesome build and I'm looking...
My first dsm was also an eclipse gs from Florida, cleanest one I have ever owned. I miss it every day. Mine was manual and also passed 100 mph. Perhaps it's an automatic thing?
Well I guess we will have to wait and see if the code comes back with the 6 bolt in then. If so then it would be best to get some sort of fuel monitoring device such as a wideband or datalogger. It would be a good idea to get a wideband regairdless just to keep an eye on fuel delivery in the...
Yes what pauleyman said and probably just a complete run through of the entire vehicle. Suspension, underbody, steering, control arms etc. I would take advantage of having it parked and just make sure everything is in tip top shape with that many miles. Fix any leaks would be number one. You...
Coolant temp sensor could also be a possible cause. If you don't know the age of it, or haven't replaced it since you have owned the vehicle, I would just replace it. It's not an expensive part, easy to replace and can cause all kinds of weird fuel delivery problems if bad. Usually the sign of...
The reason it will pull tighter is when the engine gets warm the throttle cable heats up with it and actually "shrinks" it a bit. I had the same issue when I first bought my car. Best thing to do to make sure it is good is when the engine is fully warm, loosen the two bolts that secure the...
