bump! Extremely interested in the subframe, trailing arms and control arms, will I still be able to use aftermarket sway bars with this kit? Definitely in for any subframe group or solo buys to Savannah, GA!
not sure man, but I just pulled my motor literally 20 mins ago so when I tear it down tmrw I'll look more into it and see what I can find and post results back here if any are worth while
I'm not gonna lie tho, I thought you posted a link for a gates racing alternator belt and I was about to get all excited :(I would love to find one of those as well as the power steering belt and ac belt if they happened to exist. I have seen the alternator belt link floating around before tho!!!
And if anyone knows of a good reputable machine shop in the Austin, TX area with DSM/EVO experience to have my block cleaned up and possibly bored (won't know if I'll need to as the motor was previously rebuilt but I have .20 over bore pistons so if the block wasn't touched I would obviously...
So I spun a rod bearing on cylinder 4 of my 2.0 and I'm currently rebuilding my motor for a 2.3 set up.I'm just wondering if anyone can offer me any tips.I'm planning on hot tanking the block and doing assembly myself. I'll be using an oem 4g64 crank, eagle rods, and cp pistons as I was able...
If you do happen to go with full pulley replacement tho, I would love to know where you get your parts from as I wouldn't mind replacing mine as well for preventative maintenance while I'm rebuilding my motor...already gotta find an ac tensioner pulley as i snapped the bolt....downright...
I went through about 6 belts in two weeks from going either too tight or not tight enough until I manged to figure out the correct tension. But if it's the bearing you might be able to get away with just ripping out the old one and throwing a new one in its place for like 3-5 dollars if i...
What does deleting the lines do? Other than the obvious of course. The throttle body wouldn't become too hot? Why are they there then if the temps wouldn't climb too high? And would deleting the lines on the tb and also utilizing both thermal gaskets be of any sort of benefit?
Could a failing sensor cause the car to think it's overheating? Occasionally while driving in the city my car will creep towards the red on the gauge until i turn it off and back on, then when driving again it will stay at normal operating temp, a little under halfway on the gauge. I have a...
sorry to bump an old thread but would running this as well as a thermal throttle body gasket yield some good reults as it eliminates heat coming from the throttle body to the im as well? (throttle body being warmed due to the coolant lines being connected)
I'm currently in the middle of a 2.3 build as well, will revving to 7200rpms with 27psi of boost on pump gas be ok? Also, how do I set the rev lilit? I have dsmlink v3 but when I was running the 2.0 my limit was set to 8000rpms
Do you have to use evo 8 squirters on a stroker build? Reason I ask is because I'm currently building a 2.3 stroker with oem 4g64 crank, eagle h beams and cp stroker pistons. Or am I safe to just utilize the stockers?
I have a question, I bought my 1g tsi awd with a precision 6262 turbo on it but i guess my question is, is there anyway to tell if it's journal bearing or ball bearing just by looking at it?
I mean in all honesty I don't need to reach a specific boost goal per se if I could manage to reach my goal or close to it with less boost, I'm just curious as to whether or not my build set up would hold up reliably if I did manage to do so without knocking like crazy
I'm curious as to if anyone knows the max safe boost level on 93 pump gas on a precision 6262 and a 2.3 stroker build with eagle h beam rods, cp stroker pistons, oem 4g64 crank, acl main and rod bearings, composite hg, arp main, rod, and head studs, crower 272s and a fully built 2g head (i.e...
The reason I'm asking is because I'm currently in the middle of a 2.0 to 2.3 stroker build which includes a 2g head swap with cams so I would obviously need to retune. If anyone could point me to a thread to answer my questions (yes I searched) or give me some pointers on what to look for I...
Hmm, I didn't know that. Thanks, makes me glad I decided against a stroker myself! I was concerned about the reliability of them in a dd (which is what my talon is used for) rather than a track car or project like what OPs car is sounding like.
Remember too, the bigger turbo you decide to go, the more lag you'll have trying to spool it. Maybe throw a stroker in there if you're trying to get a larger size turbo? It should help you spool up faster
