So the day of my tune came and went we spent 6 hours trying to get it to start, swapped the COP and ARC 2 back to the oem set up just to verify we had spark for some reason cylinders 2&3 don’t get spark when running the cop set up but I figure I’ll figure that out later right now I’m getting a...
hopefully this Sunday I get the tune loaded and can actually get it started for the first time in 5 years finishing the fuel surge tank that will be going in after the car is moving under its own power it feels like the list just keeps growingTo doCharge battery/replace
Coolant top off...
Ordered parts to pressurize the coolant system to test for coolant leaks emptied the car completely and attempted to re install all the dash parts when I realized so much shit was broken now that I’d be better off finding a donor car for interior
After putting the dsm on hold for the last 8 months I was finally able to get back to working on her last night I did a boost leak test felt the air chuck wasn’t supplying enough air for me to locate any of my leaks so I threaded a quick adapter that are found on most air tools and hooked it up...
Finally got a weekend to get to my shop again doing a lot of cleaning every time I go but finally found the leak funny how it held over 100 psi on the bench didn’t find this till it was pissing fuel well new intake was the fix it’s the jmf drag race intake
I swear ima burn this car down 😂 well fixed the no spark on cylinders 2/3 completely required the COP and borrowed a friends ecu new plugs on the CAS, ptu, and the COP I have it started and running and get it tuned on the 28/29 I noticed some fluid coming out of the manifold not sure if it’s...
That’s a much better diagram than I was using for the engine I’ll have to get out there this weekend and see if this is the culprit having the wire colors helps alot
I think I found the series of issues that are the cause of my problems. I've rewired the COP, swapped ECUs with a known good one, and now the kit is on it way so I can replace the plugs. My only real concern is the correct wiring for a coil on plug. My brother is an electrical engineer and...
I believe iv fixed the issues I have spark on all 4 cylinders it seems to have been a combination of a bad ecu a bad connector and what we are suspect was a bad wiring diagram for a COP. However I won’t know till I get it turned by Kenny Kline
Sorry it took so long for an update this was one of the things iv been dreading to do I was able to test all of the wires to verify continuity my make shift diagram help me diagnose the issue. The two bright red connectors pin 2,7 on the ptu lead back to the ecu at pin 54 and 55. so checking...
I’ll have to email him tomorrow I was trying to figure out how to purchase looks like I just send him the parts number I have a few questions on the arc-2 so I’m glad the person who probably knows the most about it is reachable 😂
Thank you I ordered one off of extreme psi it’s on its way in I made the Mistake of ordering one off eBay first. I should have known better 😂. But I’ll probably replace the ptu plug while I’m at it it has a broken clip so may as well. If I would have known about Sheridan Engineering I would have...
92 Plymouth laser rs the harness was cut but I did all the work on it nothing crazy just measuring and extending one at a time or shortening all joints are solder joints and heat shrinked the car drove into the shop on the same harness
Sorry for the late response. I’m in the process of tracking down continuity on all the major components CAS, PTU, and the harness that connects to my arc box. I did find that the plug on my CAS was pretty toast. I don’t feel this is the issue but I order a new pigtail from extreme psi just to be...
I mean atleast he’s trying to learn vs someone just throwing parts at the build then not understanding how it all works and why it works a lot of this stuff can be used on other platforms it’s shocking how much of this helps when building say a 1600 hp ls engine
does he need it no, but he wants to oversize his fuel system from what iv gathered from his posts. It seems he’s also interested in learning about how to size his fuel system I could be wrong not sure why people think there’s a contest going on 🤷🏼
He was asking for the break down as in don’t just throw parts at him he wants to know why someone would choose a 450 over a 255 probably should read all the comments befor jumping the gun there fella
Your logic is solid you want to pick a turbo that will flow 20% more your max flow requirements say for instance you live at 4800’ in elevation your going to want a buffer as well as you don’t want to run the turbo on the ragged edge of the compressor map. So pick the smallest turbo that will...
I only have 80 post’s because there’s no real need to post almost everything can be found on here I’m at the point that I am quite comfortable with the platform so answering questions is easy now.As well as the fact that there’s a few hundred ways to get to 600 hp we can go from cheap to...
So with no cps then the only thing I have left to inspect would be the wires and ecu 😩 god I hate wiring work. Is there anything in a tune if someone didn’t know what they were doing could cause a no spark on 2/3 had a buddy messing around with the tune to try and get it to start (how I found...
After basically finishing my build I’m left with no spark on cylinders 2/3. I switched to a COP set up with new NGK coils as well as using the ARC2 CDI BOX HOWEVER; even after switching back to OEM coils and wires there's still no spark on cylinders 2/3 which helps me say it’s none of the COP...
still no spark on coils 2/3. iv been chasing through the list of possible items it could be tested ptu, cas, had ecm link check the ecu and I replaced all of the coils with NGK brand coils doesn’t seem to be any of those. I believed it may have been the cop wiring or the dyna arc2 both turned...
Shit happens did 4 and 2 deployments back in 2010-2014 with 1 ceb to sangin my bronco got used and abused by the family so I get it. Overbuilding definitely isn’t a bad thing especially if you have the budget for it if budget is no matter you should look into the “newer” garret G-Series G30-660...
So iv been trying to chase down a no spark issue someone recommended replacing my CAS after the ptu tested good so here’s the check $89 Amazon special with Mitsubishi guys in it I have spark on cylinders 1/4 nothing on 2/3 last piece of the puzzle
12 years here you sound like someone who hasn’t been in the dsm scene very long even though your a moderator and have been here for how long? New people come to these forums all the time looking for guidance it’s best to be clear about it so others don’t get misguidedYou’ve had the car for 10...
That’s like comparing forged rods to oem rods but hey it’s your build do what you want I wouldn’t preach that information as gospel (oem 4g63 crank not likening 600 horsepower) seeing as there’s probably thousands of examples on here that prove the opposite claim however make sure you get that...
Decided to run the coil on plug set up with the arc2 system just waiting for it to come in the mail and I have to finish my fuel pump set up I get out there about twice a month wish it was in my garage close by 🥺
Was a little buisy trying to get the car ready for yep fest all of the brake lines have been ran however somehow my prop valve decided it wanted to seize up and the front brakes don’t get fluid other than that she’s finally back on the ground on all 4s still has yet to start I have to chase down...
Well slowly things are falling in line with the heat reaching 115 inside the shop I haven’t been out there much in the last two months and helping another friend get his daily running had put a stop to any real work on the car plus iv been kinda putting off working on the last bit of the brake...
For anyone that cares to know I had to do two separate size spacers due to the CTS-v brembo upgrades they are 25mm thick (1”) the hub centric spacers are 5x114.3 70.1 -72.6 for front, and 5x114.3 cb67.1-72.6 for rear, 12x1.5 studs size I recommend contacting the company as they aren’t really...
Update quite a few lines ran the nt03+m will not clear the ctsv brake calipers however I had a feeling that would be the case I’m running a 1” spacer even though I hate the idea it clears the calipers by about a quarter inch I had taken several measurements prior to the install I’ll get some...
Since no machine shop would cut the gears I had to have them ground down by a local cam shaft company hopefully there won’t be any issues with it digging into the housings the reason I left some of the teeth was so the shafts could still get oiled and it wouldn’t cause any damage to the front...
