I set mine up as a linear, and used the data provided from Prosport to set it up correctly. I think the main problem is that the Prosport Digital series uses the 4.9 sensor, for which I've seen nothing but horrible reviews. I'm going to see if I can use a 4.2 sensor with my wideband to get it...
I think I understand what the OP was trying to say, as I am running into this problem right now. I have the car at idle, warmed up, with the AFR gauge oscillating between ~14.5 - 15.3. Then I take a look at link, and the AFRest says I'm running an AFR ~20. As I increase RPM, the AFR gauge...
Watched it pass a BLT, then still run lean at idle no matter how I adjusted the VE table.... so I'm shipping it off to a tuning shop now. It's dead to me right now haha.
I took your advice. Work was boring anyway haha. Found a stripped fuel rail mounting hole, so yay! Good luck on the rest of your build. I'm looking forward to seeing some updates!
First time stumbling across this build and I am IMPRESSED! Really CLEAN car, dude. This makes me want to skip work and head over to my garage to finish up repairs on mine :hellyeah:
If you do take the driver's side parts out, I'd love to see some pictures. Kinda interested to see what that system looks like but I don't have time to open it up on my own just out of curiosity.
It wouldn't even be that hard for Mitsubishi to bring the Eclipse back as an AWD sports car.1. Start with the 4G platform, fix the FUGLY rear end and the rest of the seriously uninspiring body lines to look like an updated 2G. Steal from your former selves, so to speak. You spend a lot less...
I just found thishttp://www.dragstuff.com/techarticles/AN-Reference-Chart.htmlWhich has a chart for hose. According to that, a 35/64 ID (0.55") hose is a -6AN.Thanks for the info!
The amp has speaker wire outputs. you run RCA cables from your head unit to your amp, power the amp from the battery and ground it to the chassis, and run speaker wire from the amp to each speaker.
This is why I'm confused. I read something exactly like what you just posted, and thought, "ok easy peasy." then I find charts like this:http://autoperformanceengineering.com/html/AN_Thread_Sizes.htmlAccording to that, a -12AN would take a 1-1/16 wrench..... and it's like this all over the...
I bought a 2G a while back, and ended up storing it for the summer. Now that it's starting to get warm again, I've been doing what's necessary to get this beast on the road. I've noticed, though, that the -AN fittings on some of the lines are strangely sized, and was wondering if someone could...
Never seen anything like that on my car, but I had a house built a while back, and the first time I went in the attic, I saw that someone had written "This house is f@#$ing haunted!!" on one of the roof joists. Gave me a little laugh.
I had a no start problem, and while diagnosing it, I found the same issue. No voltage at the starter solenoid when the key was turned. My issue turned out to be a bad fuel pump relay, and after jumping that, the car fired right up. I don't have the FSM in front of me, but iirc, doesn't the...
The previous owner bypassed the clutch switch, but with everything else I've seen in this car, that might not have been done completely correct. Is that the circuit that closes the fuel pump relay? I've tried starting the car with the clutch in and out while the relay was plugged in, and nothing.
When I broke the car out now that it's warm again, I started having the same issue as above. I replaced the starter relay before storing it for winter, and assumed that when I cranked it this year, I wouldn't have any problems. Well, it didn't crank. Just a single click when the key was...
My first action would be to take a multimeter to the driver's side fuse panel wiring. Try checking continuity between separate circuits (headlight circuit have continuity with the horn circuit? there's the short). I've found that wires with damaged insulation always seem to find other such wires.
Sorry to dig up an old thread, and I'm not sure if anyone has any interest in this, or what happened to it, but....I am an Aerospace Engineer for a university, and I have access to wind tunnels and CFD if anyone was still interested in testing some functional aerodynamics. I don't have...
So I've started a wire tuck project, and in the process of removing excess wiring I've come across a question that I can't seem to find a solid answer to. Basically, I have replaced the rear O2 with a wideband and I would now like to remove the OEM front and rear O2 sensors, wiring, and heater...
Hi everyone,I was wondering if anyone knew if I could use Deutsch pins in a Souriau connector. I know that the two will connect with each other, as they are the same mil-spec # (DT-38999), but I'm unsure if the souriau connectors will accept a Deutsch pin internally.I ask because I have...
Wow, that wiring job looks really bad. I would trace it all, taking note of anywhere it splices into the main harness. From those places, trace the wires all the way through the harness. If the fuel pump relay goes crazy when the battery is connected, I would start by checking the starter...
Sorry to necro-bump an old thread, but I thought it better than making a new one. If I install the prosport A/F on the turbo outlet, is that considered the front O2? If so, would I then just run the brown wideband output to the front O2 pin on the ECU, and enable narrowband sim that way...
SOLVED!!! The starter relay was bad >.> I tested it and it passed, but on a whim I decided to jumper across it, and the car fired right up.edit: How do I update the thread title to include that it was solved?
Ok, so update:I traced 12V from the battery to the MPI relay. I get 12V on the MPI pin 6 (black/white) and when I turn the key to START, both the MPI and Ignition relays operate, so I can verify they work.Next, I moved to the ECU, and discovered that pin 71 isn't sending the signal it's...
I can't even find a place to plug this in. I'm completely clueless. TBH, I was hoping it was something to do with the ignition, since I'm not getting a signal to my starter signal wire. So I guess the better question would be:Can anyone tell me where the signal wire from the starter goes...
It's on the passenger side, kinda underneath the glovebox. The wires are AWG 14ish, one blue, the other is black with a white stripe. I can't seem to find where this connects to, and it's driving me crazy. At first I thought it was blower motor power, but my car isn't starting, and the...
I'm thinking that my problem may be the starter signal wire then. I feel like the starter is fine if I can jump it like that, and the only reason I'm not getting a start is because that wire isn't getting a signal. I'll have to check it with a multimeter to see what happens when I turn the key...
About the tab on the starter:
I have a blue wire connected to the tab with a spade connector. It seemed kind of loose, so I tightened the spade connector and reinstalled it, but that did not solve the problem. Is that the signal wire that causes the starter switch to close and gives power to...
Ok, a little update:All of the interior electrical now works. The aftermarket gauges still don't work, but I think it's because they're connected to a mini add-a-fuse instead of a full size add-a-fuse, since I can measure 12V at the fuse locations. (Just in case I'm crazy, I'll say that I...
Ok, so I have searched the forums for hours, and I have learned quite a bit about this issue, but I haven't been able to solve the problem. I removed the dash a few days ago to repair some bad wiring from the previous owner, and after finishing the repairs, the car will no longer start...
That depends. If you're one of the people who removed A/C and power steering to "save weight," then it's pretty hypocritical to knock someone for losing 50 lbs on a carbon fiber hood/hatch setup. If not, then it's w/e. Either way, most people nowadays usually paint the carbon fiber pieces...
I can't speak from experience with a DSM, as I've not owned one for very long, but I ran the Ventus V12s on my 350z and they were amazing in the summer. Beware if you live in a state where it snows or gets cold, though, because those tires SUCK when they're cold. They also seemed a bit noisy...
Also, just a heads up for fan shrouds:If the shroud is on the outlet side of the fan, facing away from the radiator, it does nothing for the flow coming through the radiator. It only creates laminar flow downstream of the fan.A very well-designed fan shroud that will create laminar flow...
Thanks to everyone for the replies. I spent the day working on the electrical issues, and I think I've zeroed in on most of the issues. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to finish fixing the abortion that is the wiring, and I'll use the settings from 19gsx91. I'll repost with the results.
Like I said in my first post, this is the tune from the previous owner. After failing to see the expected results from one of the ECMlink tutorials, I reverted back to the previous settings. Also, of course the throttle doesn't go to 100%, because I never went WOT as per the ECMlink...
I'd like to start by saying that I have read ALL of the ECMlink tutorials, watched SEVERAL videos, and scoured this forum for similar issues. I would also like to say thank you to anyone who takes the time to really read this post. The issue:
I recently bought a 2G GSX, and from talking to the...
