I am still shell prepping, it might be a while until any actual testing.
If this combo doesn't work, I will turn it into a FP RED or similar and sell it.
Not trying to reinvent anything, the compressor and turbine combo has existed for a while. Just wanting to see how this setup responds with this tiny turbine housing.
Of course the SL2 combo is proven, Justin. Depends how we define what "enough" turbine is. I am wanting a wider torque band than what's already on graph.
Simply because I want more than the SL2. I still think the 5H and SL2 turbines aren't quite enough for the 20g compressor wheel.
There are 8cm housings for the 5H turbine but it wouldn't be direct bolt-on.
I'm aware of all results. All combinations have been proven to have a very hard punch down low, but I'd like more up top.
The 5H turbine just falls off too soon for my liking.
If the setup proves us wrong, I would try the SL2 turbine next.
After all, I sourced parts at very cost efficient...
At last, I am finally picking up where I left off.Started a build journal here:

She's been jack stands for over a year now. Wheel wells look great... but are they?I was curious to what I have to play with so I started at the worst part of the vehicle. As we all know, the rocker corners on these cars will rot away.
Luckily, no through rust was found! I don't want to...
This thread is dedicated to my restoration and build of my street car.
The car is a manual 1997 Eagle Talon TSI AWD.
The 2017 goal is to somewhat restore the chassis back to factory condition, semi-stripped interior while keeping the vehicle in compliance to be able to legally drive on the...
Sorry to all who've been waiting. No testing yet, my excuse is that I've been busy with a career change and lost access to personal time on machining. I have a sibling and a friend who are machinists but have not had free time to take on my machining needs yet. Hopefully soon.
But in all seriousness, it's cool to get all the feedback from you guys so thanks. The 14B housing is in fact restrictive, the housing diameter is small, and the tunnel is small. There's no way around it really, even if fully ported. There's no bolt-on housings that'll hold the TD06H turbine...
Here's an example of 20G + TDO5H turbine, posted on here in a different thread, and he is local. Dyno graph in that thread."mrTachyon, Oct 20, 2012 #88
Hey guys, new to this site.Just put down 448/489 HP and TQ with a TD05h 20G this afternoon at MAP in the Twin Cities.1g TSi AWD - Self...
I just read up on the threads when you've suggested this combo in the past to the people on here, thanks a lot! It makes me more confident in achieving a really fun turbo! I have many MHI cores to build from, enough to build two right now.Did you really love it? Was it like a harder hitting...
I have already ran an e316g. But you think it'll surge huh? Due to the smaller volume the turbine housing will allow? The TD06H turbine paired to the 20g compressor wheel shouldn't cross over the compressor surge or choke line...... But yes, I am trying to achieve the most low end and...
Hello all,I am in the process of rebuilding an old school FP 20g(52.6X68 compressor wheel) with a TD06H turbine in a machined 14b turbine housing. Does anyone have a clue on what flow rates would be seen? And has anyone dyno'd a similar setup? Why would I run the 14b housing? Because it's...
