how are your brake calipers and shoes?? i had a sticking passenger caliper and it was causing a pull/vibration.. if its warped your rotors that vibration could be causing the axel to shake. doesnt explain the alignment issue tho. good luck.
Pvc begins to loose rigidity Above 73*F.. At 100*F it's only 70% as strong. Melting point is 170*F.. & it can emit chlorine gas above 100*F. Not something I'd be safe with or recommend but it's possible. You can get a metal intake on eBay for $80 with Couplers and filter. Way better option.
$2k, 167,000 miles, perfect leather interior/dash, lowered/exhaust, touchscreen alpine. only 20% of undercarriage was rusted (not bad for new york state).
looks clean. maybe front splitter, aftermarket sideskirts. what about mirrors? vinyl wrap is pretty easy to do if you want to throw something over the mirrors.. or even to fill the sidemarkers (wrap the oem ones in red)
can you post a video of it running? without throwing more parts at it, hard to tell. first inclination is IAC. second is a vacuum leak (added: at intake/exhaust gasket). last is TPS.
i've seen subaru guys modify injectors that way on a couple other forums... so i searched and here's a article talking about it and the pic looks like what you're seeinghttp://www.superstreetonline.com/how-to/engine/impp-1102-modified-stock-injectors/
you can use the parts to swap out rusty parts, but it wont "fix the rust"IMHO you're better off fabricating the pieces from new steel and welding them in..if you're going to spend the time, might as well put in new steel rather than old steel. but it depends on where rust is located and how...
i had the same issue- previous said he changed slave/rebuilt master... i adjusted the crap out of the rod for 3 weeks, still hard to get into 1st/reverse.. eventually i replaced the master cylinder w/ new oem (nabisco) and deleted the clutch accumulator with a stainless steel master to slave...
$800 For pistons/rods/bearings/hardware
$290 to remachine cylinders
$150 for gaskets/bolts
$150 in tools
That's all stock knock offs.. Times total by 1.5 for legit oem parts. And by 2.5 for name brand performance Parts.I paid 2,500 For my running tsi that Didn't need it's engine rebuilt, I...
if he rebuilt the engine and it pooped after 400 miles It makes it hard to believe everything else is 100%.. He's probably misdiagnosing whatever is wrong with cylinder 1.If the lack of a correct knock sensor is Causing driving issues who knows what damaged the actual knock has caused while...
Wouldn't be comfortable buying or trading for that car it If it was me or any of my friends. But if you're just looking to have another car and don't care if it runs go ahead. When I hear words like "dead cylinder" & "missfire" & "popping a piston" coupled with "gotta love turbos L. O.L" ...
Bad master cylinder. And throw a Stainless Steel clutch line on while you're in there.Once u have a new master cylinder, Then adjust the rod properly..
Lots of evo guys have had success with e85 conversions and run with 300-550hp .. you can pickup some decent used pumps/injectors on evo sites, including some sick double pump units guys are fabricating. It's the "Future".. however, i own boats.. and i've seen what ethanol can do to those...
2.5k-3k slip the clutch, roll into it. i would not drop the clutch at 4k w/ stock clutch/trans.you'll hear the phrase "slip it and rip it" repeated 10,000,000 times on this site
Everyone knows it's Festivus Season-So let's start with the honorary "Airing of the Grievances".. get it off your chest so you can start the new year fresh. Keep it car related. This should get interesting...1. Dad's driving mini-vans that try racing me every time i take my TSI to work. We...
for the sake of argument- just swap a fully built LSx in it and do the rwd conversion with autoglide trans...but seriously, sell it and buy a Gs-t or gs-x to get a turbo.. dont waste your time or money turboing the 420a. you could swap in a 4g63 but depending on your technical ability, you'll...
+1 work on it while it's "warm"- dont start wrenching after its sat overnight- the ambient heat will keep it a little easier to get the bolts out.Make sure you have the right header gasket and you properly remove the old one. and use all of the gaskets for the exhaust pipe otherwise you;ll...
Wow that sucks. In order for the city/state or even that manufacturer to do anything, Should've stopped on side of road and filled a police report. otherwise contacting a company or Municipality is unlikely to yield any results.Luckily You weren't behind the truck when it fell Off.. I would...
also, i think by "depending on drive line" they mean the size of the casing for rear differential.. i could be wrong but depending on the case, not the internals, it might impede or conflict with stock sway bar path. especially if you're going with a super thick sway bar..not 100% sure but i...
i'd look into front camber kit. also, you can do the rear camber kit with some bolts and washers from hardware store.it'll give you some adjustability as you start changing parts. plus, you wont eat tires as bad if you can correct camber as you go. buy a set and throw them on when you decide...
i had a problem with a bad spark plug/boot/coil that would produce similar results around 5k, voltage would drop and battery light would flicker and car would stutter/jerk. changed plugs/boots/coil and issue was resolved.however, since you're unsure about the ecu/ 2step install it makes it...
new master (and slave if you have $) along with SS clutch line. cost me $167 shipped for master cylinder and ss line together from http://www.streettunedmotorsports.com/
buy a 2.5 or 3 inch inlet universal muffler from ebay ($50) along with a cat or resonator ($30-50) then take above items to your local non-corporate muffler shop and negotiate him to $75-$100 to weld and install the system. It might flow alright and sound okay... but the muffler will probably...
i have similar holes on my 97 tsi doors.. the trim was missing when i bought the car from the previous owner.i bought 3/8 and 5/16 nylon plugs from local hardware store (.25-.50/a piece) in hope of sealing the doors up.. had to widen a couple of the holes in the door with a drimmel before...
without a volt reading from each wire, it's hard to tell where the issue might be... so that info would help greatly..i know this isnt what you want to hear.. but have you tried swapping back in stock connectors and see if problem goes away?
I disagree. hot rodding has its roots based on cheap do it yourself mods. guys didnt go to the parts store or order from a catalog until the late 70s and early 80's.. for 50 years (1920-1970) they threw parts from various cars together in a jumbled mess with a function over form attitude...
there's a reason ferrari owners own ferraris, corvette owners own corvettes, classic guys own classics, and dsm guys own dsms. dsms are budget cars. if we had 10k to dump into them at once, we probably would have just bought a new car in the first place.browse any mustang, camaro, TA, evo, wrx...
+1 for examples.. looking to do the same.no pics of it, but i had a friend put the stereo in the glovebox and use the stock radio slot for storage. and pop out cup holder tray from a VW jetta. used abs plastic.
