I was running 18lbs with my s16g reaching boost at 2500. I now run 24lbs on my evo3 and hit full boost at 2700. If its not any quicker its atleast the same. I did have 3" exhaust but i also ended up with lag so i went back to 2.5" which is perfect. Barely any lag while still having great...
Right, but you really think a newbie is going to know this???? He may know it now for future but half the time you can barely read them. And you dont know if the housings have been changed or not. This way you know for sure.
Actually the evo spools a tad quicker. The wheel is lighter. IMO it the best street turbo out there for the price. I went from the s16g to the evo 16g and there was a remarkable difference at the same amount of boost. I myself wont ever own anything but the evo3 turbo. I wont even take a...
First off, thats a hell of a buy for $800! Congrats and welcome to the club. Anyway, if its the stock turbo, its a 14b. Theres no way to tell just by looking at the turbo itself since both 14b's and 16g's use the same compressor housing. You have to take the intake off and actually look...
I would imagine thats with a good "high rev" clutch dump. Most of them without a clutch dump average a low 15. The quickest ive seen without a clutch dump is 15.1 on stock 1g :talon:
Honestly, its should tell you "PREMIUM FUEL ONLY" on the gauge cluster :rolleyes:Yes, with heavy throttle conditions. Cruising conditions you wouldnt notice a difference. The highest grade you can get. Its cleaner :talon:
Yes check and make sure all your cables and everything on your TB is how it should be. Make sure theres nothing blocking the pedal from going as far as it should inside the car. If all else fails then your TPS is going bad. It should read 100% at full throttle :talon:
The evo has a quicker 0-60 time than the sti. But the sti is a hair quicker in the 1320. But as someone else stated, the evo out handles the sti. I personally like the styling of the evo better. Now im not that familiar with suburu's motor at all, but a friend of mine has a wrx and another...
3" already on that car is a good thing. Might as well just keep it and put a muffler on it. Assuming the rest of the system is good. Asess the situation and see which muffler will work or is close to it. Im sure it wont be hard to find one. Any custom shop can make it work :talon:
I hope your relying on something else other than just the a/f ratio gauge to determine whether your running lean or rich. There pointless for for that. Their always pegged at rich at WOT unless the o2 sensor is fried. And depending on how much boost and FP your running, i highly doubt you...
I had that happen to me once believe it or not. Little bastards packed my cat full of junk. Needless to say they got a rude awakening when i started the car. Damn thing would barely run. Made for a good reason to eliminate the cat  Sorry had to mention it. Anyway back to the...
Most likely a boost leak. Be more specific. Is it boost creep or spike? For a definition of the 2 refer here . To do a leak test get your self one of these found here and attach it to the intake of the turbo on the compressor housing. Youll have to remove the intake to do so. And yes you...
Not every car is the same. I know of some at 400whp that hasnt broke anything. But for me at 326whp, ive been thru, center diffs, rear diffs, driveshafts, and x-fer cases. No im not a bad driver nor do i go out and pound the hell out of my car till it falls apart. I guess its just my bad...
No, i was just curious if it was ever replaced. When they start to go bad they dont read knock correctly. And you wont get knock from a denser, colder air. If your getting phantom knock from lifter tick it would have to be a pretty violent case of lifter tick at that rpm :talon:
Do what anconover said. Make sure your base timing is set correctly. And whats your plugs like? What kinda are they? Ive seen cases of knock just from plugs :talon:
Hes also running a 2g mas which will make him run lean. So he cant zero it out or he will be too lean. He will need to richen it back up but definately not as much as he has it :talon:
I highly doubt your getting heat soak at 10psi. You should be able to run 16lbs without heat soakin safely. Hell ive ran 18lbs with a 16g, stock smic and injectors without heatsoaking. Your trying to tune for no knock with 91 octane, which is tough. I could only go 18lbs on sunoco 94 so i...
Wow, you guys are cheap. He should easily get 3200 for that with a rebuilt motor and a good paint job. 3200 but no more. Assuming the drivetrain and the rest of the car is in good condition also :talon:
A bad o2 sensor can cause a number of affects with a car. Youd be surprised how much it could affect the performance of a car. So yes, it can cause some random misfires. If your still seeing some volts from it i doubt it will pull a CEL. It wont be long before it does tho :talon:
http://www.dsmtuner.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143148Youll see a pic of mine in that thread and a few others. Maybe that will shed some light on it for ya. And your going to need a fuel pump to feed those injectors. Then youll need a FPR to do it right :talon:
If the banjo bolt for the oil feed line AT the turbo is the one you need, the banjo bolt for the fuel filter is the exact same if you got a spare one of those laying around. Local junk yard should have one too. Just make sure its clean before installation. Another resourceful site...
I hate automatics :thumbdown But i think i would even buy it. That car is immaculant. If the motor and drivetrain all checkout ok, (with 44k miles on it should) i think i would :talon:
SBR told me a ported 2g o2 housing was worth 15hp on a 1g. I found that hard to believe but i could notice a difference. I dont think it was quite 15hp but it definately helped :talon:
It will definately help with future upgrades. You wont see any bad side affects as your car is now so go for it. It will help some but you wont really notice it until you upgrade the turbo. A tube manifold would be the way to go IMO if you got the money :talon:
That and in between the gears when shifting. Youll understand what i mean if you do it. If you were to put the center shaft from the tranny into the t-case and turn it back and forth youll see what i mean :talon:
ha never. Talking bout a DSM here. There kinda like a magnet. They never let you go. Either that or their to afraid to come out of the garage. Actually its more like if you buy one, just plan on building a garage around them  LOL I gotta admit tho, all the hell that i have been...
That looks like a turbo bumper to me. The turbo FWD bumpers are different from the turbo AWD's if thats what u mean. The FWD turbo eclipse i used to have had the exact same bumper. I have never seen a non turbo eclipse with that bumper. Turbo Talon's all have the same bumper regardless...
Dude, no need to get defensive :thumbdown Jake brake, maybe. Definately not air brake. I know what they sound like and he was on the gas when it happend. I said im not in a position to argue. Let it go. If they dont have then they dont. I dont know i was just stating what i heard :talon:
I dont know much bout semi's so im definately in a position to argue but i do know that what i heard was no air brake. I dont think it was a jake brake either cuz its illegal to use them in the city's here in PA but i could be wrong. If it was, i sure as hell never heard one that sounded like...
