And finally with the car having no brakes I felt this was a great time to replace some broken bleeders on the wilwood 120-5957/6 superlite 6s. More on that later. Well I got 3 of the 4 valves changed then I managed to destroy the driver side caliper when the 4th was stuck. I should have left it...
So Wednesday morning came and I took the car to have the new tires put on. I was a little worried about leaving the car at a dealership but it's just a tire install whay could go wrong?Well a few hours later I get a call telling me the car has no brakes and they can find out why for me if I'd...
Well I have more updates. Two days ago I took a fairly spirited drive from anchorage to girdwood as far as I know the only decent driving roads around town. The goal was to see how she does and have a comparison of the old tires to the new ones.for some reason I only took one terrible...
Hello again everyone. Breakup finally hit up here in Alaska. We got the aqua mist kit installed and the car up on the dyno. But of course we hit a few snags. The oil pressure is a little high and we couldn't get any boost control so it was waste gate pressure only until it hit some boost creep...
Only have a quick update. The car has been in storage at the shop it's being tuned at. I have a aquamist system ready for install and then the car will hit the Dyno. And today I picked up some new bf sport comp2s. Will update when the Dyno numbers come in.
Just kidding I picked this beauty up from a friend who left the country to travel and need to give the car a home. I'm very happy to have it and will be continuing to post on the build thread the car has on here. http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/my-1g-dsm-story-1990-tsi-awd-clean-street-machine...
Well I guess this is as good of time as any to start. I'm the new owner of this beautiful 1ga and couldn't be happier to have it. My plan for the car is really pretty short it could use some nice tires and a proper Dyno tune. The runs well right now but we know there is a lot more power to be...
The large sanding band for taking paint off and the cone shaped stone for removing the thick rust and crap that's in the corners. The first picture is all a result of the cone shaped stone bit.
Ok so poly mounts are done it like it and my mounts had seen better days. I got bored last night and decided to do the new axel seals. But of course I couldn't just do that. My brakes had been painted red some time ago I'm guessing. So I took the brakes off and got all the old paint off
Well finally home from work. Took the car out this morning to clean it up and pick up some paint for the valve cover I picked up on here a few weeks ago. Should have pics of that up tonight.
Yeah it's a poor post right now. Sorry. Im out of town on work right now but I'll update when I start with my new phase of work. As for the plane lol all the pics I have of the car were to large to upload so I had to adjust the setting and just take a pic of somthing haha.
I can say the manifold gasket is pretty easy and cheap to fix. Did mine with new bolts and helicoiled a stripped out hole in a few hours in no rush. I also did new tierods and ball joints on my 1g and the front end feels like new now. Also not hard or expensive.
did a wot pull anyone care to look at it tell me what you think? hit knock and have some boost creep. pretty sure that i have way to much boost for pump gas. (90 oct). any way im slacking on this whole profile thing but the car has. e316g, 650 injectors, 255, 3inch exhaust, front mount,gm maf...
Ok so currently my car is set up with a gm maf in the draw through set up. I'd like to change it to blow through (seems like a better option to me) the car idles pretty well right now. So my question is will I freak the car out by moving it? Will it be measuring a different amount of air then it...
Thats basically what I accomplished with my boost leak test. I feel pretty good that I have found the leaks but I do like the idea of testing to over the psi you will run. That I am not confident I have accomplished so I still am gun shy about messing around with ecm link.
Ok yeah I never tried closing the MBC all the way. The pcv should be fine I replaced it with a new one like a week ago. I'm away at work now so trying g grab some ideas to try when I get home. As for the throttle body shaft seals go would I be able to tell if they were bad with out taking the tb...
hey there. so i have searched around on this but couldnt really find my exact ansewr i was looking for. i so i have been in the process of finding boost leaks in my car because it runs rich as hell and i beleave some of that is in the tuning but it did have a few rather large leaks. so i have...
The plan right now is to get it machanicaly sound. I have had a shop go through it and have a short list of things to fix. Then I will be getting it tuned for the 16g that's on it. After it's running and driving well I'll start the trans rebuild project. All said and done I want a nice...
