That's awesome. I just watched the jafro video. I didn't realise it was that easy, I've always sent them out to be cleaned at a local place for 15/injector. No more!
Always go by what the manufacturer of the part intended. It's almost critical to have a FSM around when doing anything like this.I'm a mechanic and I love and breathe the FSM.
Awesome. I used to crew chief for Janusz Komorowski back in the day. We went all over Canada with the Canadian Rally Championship, best outcome was third for the Bighorn Rally in 2001 ish.I miss those days...GREAT BUILD, by the way. I just got my hands on another 95 awd dsm. Not sure what...
Well, a Red has recently one 10.50 with a reasonably built car. Base your needs off that. Do you want to cage the car? Then likely don't need a Red.My advice: for a fun street car, go with the smallest turbo you need for you power goals. Maybe look into one of the many 20G variants, 7cm 06SL2...
How high is the stall on the converter? Do you think you'd be able to stall the Red on a stock converter with your setup? My setup is similar except for hks 272 cams and a stock converter.
On the first 3g colt that I swapped a 4g63t into I ran a large blue bottle glass pack style muffler with a turndown on it. The muffler was maybe 18" long, and welded directly to the downpipe to catcon flange. It worked well. Wasn't TOO loud. This was 15 years ago and I'm old now. I wouldn't do...
The black goo doesn't immediately mean it's bad. If you are having knock sensor issues and there is black goo it's indicative of problems. If there is black goo coming out of it there will be issues upcoming.
I'm going to try a e3 16g in a 6cm housing with a large external. Try the compound idea out with it, in a sense. Vent the excess gas around the turbine, but keep a small housing to keep the spool.I hope it works. If not, back to the old 7cm.This is on a 2g with a stock converter.
I'm on the same path as you, just a 2g auto. I'm set on a billet 20g, just not a 68hta due to the large turbine housing. As such, I went with a larger injector in the event I want to go bigger.
Just unbolt the entire housing and go from there. I think a new housing and seal isn't a whole ton of money, been a while since I replaced one.Ultra grey is what I suggest.
Beautiful work. I also would suggest opening up the teardrop recess on the head. I've yet to have problems with the normal lifters, but would use the revised 3g ones when I need to swap them out.
Where do you live that it's that cold already? Reason I ask is i live in a cold climate, and may be close to help. I'm in Edmonton. With no power under load, you really need to do the basics first. Fuel filter and plug wires. I've chased misfires on these things and it's usually ignition...
