The spring on the bov is only there to hold the valve shut during idle and cruise, when boost comes on the pressure is pushed to the top of the bov so it's pushed shut, you should be able to loosen that bad boy all the way and it should still hold boost fine
I bought a valve cover with 2 10an bungs on it and it was powder coated, so my guess is it was sandblasted and it doesn't look like the baffles were removed. That's my situation haha.
I'm mainly just looking to see if anyone has any experience with running a kiggly hla and didn't use a baffle in the valve cover, how much oil ended up in the catch can?
Hey Justin, I bought a JB fp black during the tax time sale mostly because I saw the evo guys doing awesome with it, well everything I see is telling me that the MHI housing sucks and the 8cm is too restrictive for it.Is there a different turbine housing I can get or maybe some sort of...
It should move freely, with a balance shaft there's weight to pull it down so it will move when you let go but without one it will immediately stop, but it should still spin freely
If money wasn't an option for me, my endgame would probably be Vader or R&R aluminum rods with wiesco HDs. The new age aluminum rods have really proved themselves to me, they will be going into my next engine for sure.On the whole compression thing, if I were in his shoes, I would probably...
As for the NA pistons im sure they will be fine. I personally don't have any experience with them but as long as your cams are not excessively huge I don't see any issues, but @bastarddsm would know, he's ran them. Now with the gash in the stud hole, the only thing I would do is just re round...
I'd say stick with the stock twin scroll housing, but I also don't have any experience what so ever with twin scroll setups, but everything I've seen says they are that perfect in-between for quick spool and top end power.
I know @Archer Fabrications has some pretty mean manifolds, I'm not so...
When I bought my 1g it had a cooked small 16g that was getting raped daily to 32psi in a bone stock 6 bolt with hardly a tune running real lean on 91 premium, spark knocking like a tank, and that's just what my cousin put it through for a year. He never changed the oil the time he had it and he...
Take out the thermostat and put it in a pot of water and bring it to boil, make sure it opens, I'd say it's either the thermostat or a good air restriction to the radiator. Do you still have an AC condenser?
Does it still overheat at a standstill when the fans are on? If it's just overheating on the interstate I'd say you would probably need some ducting to your radiator to get some more air through there.
Has anyone found any pumps recently that would maybe better suit our needs? I took out the power steering in my 1g and I'm really interested in getting an electric setup.
Forgot to mention too I swapped one of them from my parts car, never bothered to actually check them tho. Lol. @1990TSIAWDTALON thanks for the tip and schematic, I'll look into it
I art thou callith back from the deadithSo ever since I bought my 90 talon I've battled this issue, the headlights go up and operate fine but they do not retract on their own.
I've tried swapping that box in the footwell, as well as the relays.
The motors seem fine, they don't have any issues...
Welcome to the club! I'm from Michigan's upper peninsula, small world! Hopefully it's something small like plug gap, I ran into that issue when I really started to push my 20g
From my experience I ran a tdo5h 20g on my 1g last summer with the stock intake and cams and the torque hit was insane, but the power fell off and the car felt restricted above 6k, so I tossed some comp 101200s in (similar to a 272) and made the mid range more sluggish, but the gains were pretty...
I was more or less just giving examples, if you had a sheet metal intake I'd say get some 272s, or if you ever plan on growing your setup. But I'd say some 264s would give an awesome powerband with the stock intake and the 7cm housing. And for your setup if your looking to save some cash, you...
When I called FP about the oiling for my black, the only thing the guy told me was run it off the ofh with no restrictor, he said the more oil pressure the better. Just my experience, I just deleted my balance shafts and I haven't installed the turbo yet, hopefully my seals won't blow!
When I had my hood exit it was in about the same spot as it would be on the o2 housing. I regret my hood exit. My car just sounded like an obnoxious tractor lol.
I'm in a similar situation, I would like to see how I'll be able to get up on an fp black and a stock converter, I'll probably end up doing a dry 50 shot pre turbo and see what happens. I have comp 101200s, JMF drag intake, 2.0 8.5:1 compression. But I do have a bunch of nozzles to test!
Hey y'all yet again, just curious before I drop $1000 on a quality converter, has anybody pushed the stocker enough to spool a turbo of this caliber? I have a sniper system at my disposal and before I blow a converter apart, has anyone tried around a 50 or 75 shot on the stock converter with...
