What's up guys I was just wondering if the 97-99 awd transmission is the same. I have a 99 gsx and I am going to purchase a 97 awd transmission as a spare. Will there be any issues? I do know the 95-96 trans is not the same as the 97-99 but I just wasn't to make sure. Thanks
Oh I see, I still think that the clutch is slipping which is what your smelling. I would recommend the use of oem master cylinders and that they are bled correctly other wise they will leak internally and the pedal will randomly drop to the floor again. Make sure they are resurfacing the...
What up bro, why was it in the shop? that's smell is most likely you clutch disc slipping. If the car was in for a clutch install they might have forgotten to resurface the flywheel or they didn't resurface it correctly. This would explain why your rpms go up but the car doesn't speed up like it...
I was also wondering about the stm exhaust for the 2g, I like the thermal but that exhaust tip is just to big. I live in socal so I am trying to stay low pro so the stm exhaust has a 3 inch tip so it a bit less obvious. Are there any owners with them that can give there opinion on the exhaust...
Well I guess no one could give a suggestion, I just found out by going back to the auto store and happened to find these which worked perfect. (2721MF) I guess these also where called for as an alternative to #74 which was slightly thicker at the bottom. This extra size would not allow the #74...
Hey bro, always ask for more pictures if your seriously interested in buying a car. But as far as the time invested to fix up the car personally I would start with a vehicle in better condition but that's just me.
Hello peeps I am just changing my burnt out hvac control light bulb in my 99gsx which I have researched and have found the size to be 74. I have a pictures showing that a 74 is slightly bigger, I am now thinking about just doing leds lights for all my lighting but I just want to know what size...
Do you even know if the ecu is socketed for the ecu link? you can check this by opening up the ecu. There should be a chip at the bottom right which you can carefully just pull off as this would mean the ecu is socketed and ready for the link. Plus the chip should say ecu link on it I belive...
Yes sir, the stock ecu is programed for the stock injectors anything larger will cause issues. I think with a 2g or evo maf you can run 550s with out big issues, but that's still not the right way if your looking to doing things correctly.
I would change the spark plug wires as well, you should be ok with those plugs at 15 psi but even with the fuel pump,re wire mod 15psi would be my limit on stock injectors to play it safe
That would seem to be the issue, the vehicle isn't tune to run with those injectors, if this issue was happing to me I would give ecm link a call and see if they can give you some direction to check your set up.
The only way there would be bubbling at the coolant filler neck is if you where doing a cylinder leak down test. which if that was the case the issue would be a blown head gasket. But in this case the bubbling was at the coolant reservoir which would indicate an over heating issue.
The first issue, do you have the blow off valve recirculated back to the intake tube? At idle what does your vac gauge read?
The second issue, seems like when your saying bubbling at the reservoir that has nothing to do with the type of coolant your running. That means your coolant system is...
I haven't been on tuners for awhile, in my last reply I left you the phone number to the trans shop in the valley? unless it was removed the info was there. Anyways at least your trans issue got resolved..
Hey bro I got the info- 818 982-1565. His name is Celso and his shop is called d and b transmission. Give him a call and see what he can do for your situation.
Hey, I just finished installing my brothers 99 gsx trans that he got rebuilt by some shop in the valley. He charged my bro 650.00. I can get you his number if you need it, I still haven't finished the job so I don't know how good of a job he did but they give a 6 month warranty or x amount of...
another quick question, All I have ever used in my 1g gsx with just bpu's is rre no name clutch, was great for daily with my set up but started to slip after a few track days. Act hd pressure plate 2600 with street disc has held great but heavy pedal feel. Other than the southbend what other...
I have had the act 2600, xtreme pressure plate with a street disc, I love the durability but I hate the pedal feel. I don't think I will use this clutch kit again but not because there bad I just want a more stock clutch pedal feel. I hate doing my damn clutch pedal every 2 years. I do drive in...
What up bro, sounds like your fifth gear syncro or actual gear is worn out. I would remove the trans and have it inspected, the cause of the issue really depends on how the trans was treated. Servicing, racing and time all play in the life of the trans component's.
