Bump for a great guy and talented fabricator! Very exciting to see new life being breathed into the platform. Looking forward to getting his parts on my 1g when the time comes.
Small update... got the motor mount all finished up and had my valve cover welded. I removed a few other parts to be cleaned and painted while waiting for stuff to be delivered. I decided to relocate the battery to the back of the car. I'm currently addressing the birds nest of wiring that was...
Thats awesome considering the issues you were having. I'm curious to see how you are going to set up your nitrous. I'm in the process of doing the same thing. Wet or dry? what size shot? Also, is your oil catch can a custom one off piece or are they for sale some where? Im in need of one.
Started working on my driver's side motor mount tonight after work. It was SHOT. Got it all welded up and ground smooth. Getting painted and reinstalled tomorrow. :thumb:
Just read the entire thread. Awesome build man! the car looks great! Looking forward to updates. Tell me more about that sinister converter. Are you happy with it? What does it stall to? Cruising trans temps? I'm running damn near the same setup aside from the built motor and I'm really...
Thanks man it's come a long way but there's still so much more to do. As for the turbo fitment. It's very close mabey an 1/8" between the compressor housing and water pipe. I had to do a little bit of gentle persuasion with a pry bar to get clearance.
Here are a few pictures of the current setup. It's a stock bottom end 6 bolt w/ an IPT built trans and converter
ARP head studs
GSC S2 cams
GSC springs and retainers
Cometic MLS head gasket
AEM tru-time cam gears
PTE 6262 (undivided T3, BB)
JMF bottom mount manifold
Custom DP to full 3" exhaust...
Holy s***!!! Decided to look back at the old build thread today. Seeing how much has changed since my last post and seeing how much I've learned is pretty damn cool. I've done a lot to the car since then but unfortunately I didnt do a great job of documenting all the changes. I'm gonna try my...
Finally got the car running! Turns out I had the wrong map input selected. Now I'm dealing with a super rich idle, I've been reading for days and I've tried a few different ways to remove fuel. I've lowered the numbers in the upper left hand corner of the ve table and also tried messing with the...
Thanks! Still playing around with my vacuum lines making sure I have everything hooked up correctly before posting a log. I'm gonna try posting one this evening, this link definitely helps.
Yea it pulls about 20 hg but it's idling at about 1600 rpm. My fuel pressure is set to 43 psi at the regulator and in ecmlink. And this is only with a vacuum leak, car will only idle for 3-4 seconds before dying with all lines connected.
Haven't checked in on this thread in awhile, I'm still working on my 92 auto project, should be road ready soon. Curious to know if there's gonna be any meets or track events you guys are gonna be at, I'm always down to meet up. Anyone run at Cecil or Atco?
My injectors are 1800cc. I used the calculator in ecmlink to give me my global fuel percentage and injector dead time. I tried different base fuel pressures also with no affect.
Hey guys! Looking for any input on this current issue I'm dealing with. Ive been driving the car occasionally all stock with no issues for a few months untill recently i did some work and changed my timing belt, added a fmic, upgraded the fuel system, and set the car up on speed density with...
So this is why I will no longer let anyone I don't fully trust do anything to my car...:banghead: If anyone has a spare drivers side spindle they'd like to sell me or some info on where I could fine one that would be awesome. I've checked most of the local junkyards and parts stores... no luck.
About 2 months ago I pulled the trans at a friends house to have it built and confirm that I have a 6 bolt (wasn't sure up until then) so that I could order all the right parts in the future. This is how the car sits currently. Kinda depressing, but things are gonna pick up quick when spring...
Good eye! Hahah the air can wasn't hacked, just removed and put on the back seat for some reason :idontknow: and I removed the heat shield to check the condition of the manifold.
Not sure whats up with the pictures. I'mm using the IMG code provided by photobucket and pasting directly into the reply. if this is incorrect or if someone knows a fix let me know because I have alot more pics to post
Hello everyone. So after a few months of learning, researching, and searching I found my first DSM. A clean low-mile 92' Eagle Talon TSi AWD auto. My plans are to to build an occasionally street driven drag car. I'm starting this thread to document all my progress and hopefully get some input...
Yea man this site has been a huge help, and maintenance is definitely #1 on the list. I'm currently as of yesterday diagnosing a random no-start condition. :banghead: :ohdamn:Thanks man. I got pretty lucky finding a completely unmodified car, unfortunately it was 3 hours away in New York. I'm...
Hello everyone!!My name is Adam. After a long search I recently bought my first turbo car, a bone stock 92' 1G talon. Its an auto with 93,000 miles. I plan to build an occasionally street driven drag car. A friend introduced me to drag racing and the DSM world, and after a few years of...
