You might have already checked, but you might need to bend the sensor under the hood up a little to make a better connection with the hood. I accidentally leaned on mine and it bent down and caused inconsistent alarm issues. Bent it back and problem solved. Just thought I would add this idea.
I did not start a list of who is going. There are a number of people who are not on dsmtuners (they do not have DSM's) but are going. Should be good! See you all Friday!I cannot meet before then. Maybe someone else can? Help a fellow DSM'er out!!
Hey there!So the planned meet-up location prior to heading down is Kendig Square shopping center at the corner of route 741 and route 272 South of Lancaster. The track is only 36 miles from here.
Meet at ~4:30 pm to 5:00 pm Friday, March 19th in the parking lot at the K Mart there by the...
Have had a very good response ... so far about 15 people going. We will meet up somewhere in Lancaster and head down that evening. Stay tuned for more details!
Will definitely meet up and cruise down. Will update on when and where. I have had a very good response thus far - about 10 people today alone not including friends of mine already going.
Hello,I am looking to get a number of people together to head down to the Cecil County Dragway Friday night street racing on March 19. Doors open at 5pm and racing begins at 6pm. There are many people signed up to go currently and it should be a good time to talk cars. There will be a...
Boost and wideband are for sure needed. I chose fuel pressure as my third. I got the AEM unit which I can switch if needed between fuel pressure or oil pressure.
Snow is not a worry for me thus far. POR-15 is the best for rust (google it). As far as auto or 5 speed, there are fast cars with either. Depends on your preference. Have fun!
Good comments above by sKeeT007. If you can be meticulous on any changes and re-builds, and perform all required maintenance, it greatly reduces the risk of issues.
I have this same issue and have not seen any problems arising from it. It is condensation and the same creamy stuff comes out of my catch can. It is worse without a PCV as stated. For those of you with leaking or old oil caps without proper seal, you can run 2 rubber seals under the cap for a...
I have the SBR kit and kept my foglights. Had to hack the stock foglight mounting brackets to fit. Prior to this FMIC, I used the Hahn Racecraft FMIC and also kept the stock foglights with no hack required.
I had my car in storage for 3 years just outside Chicago. It was driven once a month and had all kinds of issues with the Optima red top. Would never hold a charge. Went through multiple red tops. Ended up having to keep a trickle charger on it which helped. Currently running a yellow top...
I was out of the country for 3 years and had it started once a month and driven 2 miles or so after warmup. Came back and drove it 12 hours to my new home without issue. Hopefully this gives some insight. Had a battery issue in the winter initially which was solved by using a trickle charger...
I am using washers without issue. It is only one side. Be sure to see if you can turn the wheels freely after install. It will bind if that bracket is twisted.
I run a re-wired supra pump. It was a long time ago when I installed it but I remember my pump was on an angle as well and I installed it with a cracked brown piece like you had. My crack was not all the way up the side though ... only the bottom portion. Been running this way since 2003. I...
I did the motor mount inserts in my garage with a hack saw, drill, flathead screwdriver, and a hammer. Drill out the stock rubber, hacksaw the metal inner ring, and use the screwdriver and hammer to pry/pound out. This is obviously for the tranny top and drivers side mounts. The front and...
If the motor is out of the car, you can put 2 flywheel bolts in on the other side and use a metal bar off of the ground or held by a friend to hold the crank in place while you break the bolt loose. Worked for me.
The ECU pulls 1* of timing below 34*F. Cold air gains are worth it though.pV = nRTWhere:p = absolute pressure of the gas (air in this case)
V = volume of the gas
n = amount of gas
R = gas constant
T = absolute temperature of the gas
Was down for 4 months ... full rebuild and many other parts in my profile. 1 month of that was work, travel, and family stuff. Now have 800 miles on the new engine with no running issues and not a single drop of anything leaking. :D :thumb:
Don't know about those fog lights ... but I have a 97 gsx and have the huge SBR/Kenetic FMIC and kept the stock fog lights. Took some hacking of the stock fog light brackets though.BTW ... I am in Lancaster, PA.
I run AEM boost, wideband, and fuel pressure. The AEM fuel pressure gauge can also be used for oil pressure and if you buy new, comes with the proper labeling for either so you can switch down the road if needed.
Just to add some info ... I had a similar issue doing a boost leak test and my quick disconnect from the water/meth tube into the fitting leaked pushing water/meth out into the engine bay. This was with a square end and a shallow angle into the fitting. I called the manufacturer and they...
