Geographicaly speaking its near perfect, mild weather, mountains a couple hrs one way, beach a couple hrs the other way. Outer banks are awesome, stokes county has a mountain range tht begins and ends within the county (the sauratown mountains) and theelre are some hella fun roads:D
94 talon tsi front wheel drive hear, VERY interested in the mounts, would be interested in all 4 mounts or solid roll stop mounts and poly inserts for the other 2
The front balance shaft is driven off the belt, the rear balance shaft is internally gear driven and will have to be removed with a stub shaft installed in its place. If you do not remove the rear balance shaft you will have bad vibrations and it can lead to bolts backing out or even clutch or...
Fixing all the screw ups from the last owner, LOTS of screw ups. Ive owned this car for less than 6 months and have had to spend some time atleast once a week every week since ive had it to fix it, and the deeper ive gotten into it the more i find wrong with it. Ive finally gotten it to a state...
Finally got the too small ugly 14 inch wheels off and got some 2g gs wheels. They had some scratches and gashes so i sanded them down, resurfaced, polished, and clear coated them. Ill post pics tomorro my computer is being dumb tonite
Yea there are definitly no shortage of muscle cars down here, some are very high horsepower, i have several friends with 500+ hp daily drivers. Im in the king area, work at a shop in winston salem, welcome to n.c. i think you'll like it.
There are a few of us still roaming the streets, you wont be far from miller import parts if you end up in concord. There are a CRAP TON of buzzing hondas down here for your car to eat.:sneaky: what part of virginia you from?
Wish they would put the 1g n more games like need for speed pro street where u would b able to mod and tune it (love tht game, playing with a 2g as my grip car right now)
Ive seen brand new rotors that are warpped straight out of the box, not often but it happens, you can have them resurfacedOr return them as defective if they will let you
Pulled the busted trans yesterday, (even on my day off i still end up turning wrenches) found a toasted pressure plate and throw out bearing and broken throw out bearing sleeve, got pissed, said i was gna junk it at the to of my lungs, and spent the rest of the day searchin for parts to fix it...
Not true i worked for a chevy dealer for a little over 5 yrs, and ive been at small family owned places, i am currently the a tech at a precision tune for the last 4 years and its about the best place ive found so far as far as treating its employees good, i have 5 kids, my wife is currently...

Yea, it seemed like a pretty soild car when i looked at it, the shell has no rust at all, and the motor was just rebuilt about 1000 miles ago, ive shaken the suspension down and ball joints and stufd look tight for now, he must have stripped the nut on the tierod when he was tightening it down...
Using a test light one side to neg battery post one side to starter signal terminal turn key to crank position and see if test light illuminates if it dies uve most likely got a bad starter
Edit: if it DOES uve most likely got a bad starter
The 6 puck disc wasnt in straight, previous owner installed, i think that is what caused the throwout bearing sleave to shatter apart, thouse chunks were caught inbetween the pressure plate and the 6 puck disc, the ear broke was the result from how violently it was shakingThe outer tie rod end...
Slow down u didnt fail, its running, can u get under it and see about where the oil is coming from? Look very carefully at all seals from top to bottom since u redid everythingIf u cant tell, you can get a uv leak detection dye kit for cheap and that will help u pinpoint it very quick
Does the starter try to engage at all? Does the starter itself click? Sounds like the starter armature is stuck (bad starter)Have someone try start it while u take a hammer and lightly tap on the starter
There is ton of info and miss info out there about balance shafts, what they actually do, and the pros and cons. The vibration is generated because the movement of the conecting rods in an inline engine are not symmetrical throughout crankshaft rotation. Due to this the engine has an inherent...
Yea Magnaflow makes a really good sounding product all across the board! I have several friends with various vehicles that are running magnaflow and every single one of em sounds great, (1 of em is a honda if that tells you anything)
Sounds like the lock cylinder is worn out, relaping it is your best optionHave you ever tried 2 part epoxy? Sets as hard as jb kwik weld but is made for plastics, dries clear and is sandable/paintableSorry, i ment replacing it, trying to type this on my phone
With the brembo twim piston calipers in the rear u will notice a big difference than with the stock rear calipers, more responsive, but the bias should remain about the same
Yea ive heard of em, they are outta California, been around for a long time, i ordered some accesories for a F-250 i used to have from em, they were cheap and i got my stuff via fed ex pretty quick
Yea just leave the balance shaft belt off, ive ran all my cars with out em and never have a problemThe balance shift belts r there to dampen idle vibrations, u wont notice much of a change, if at all, and it frees up a little hp
Its pretty easy to miss it by one tooth, ive been a tech for 15 yrs and have seen it quite a bitWith the engine idling have you got under the hood and tried to locate the source of the buzzing u were talking about?
6 puck describes the # of individual sections of the friction disc instead of having 1 360* disc, if u do decide on a puck disc for ur clutch u need to know that taking off from a stop it will "chatter" i have a 2600 in my 1g and it works great i love it, u need to atleast resurface the flywheel
Is this something tht has benn progressivly gettin worse over time or has this lack of power once warm something tht started all at once? Have u checked compression yet?
Victor reinz r junk, use ANYTHING but victor reinz, Fel-Pro is ur best bet for no having an issueIf its hard to tell where the oil is coming from get a small bottle of u/v die and put it n with ur oil, drive it 50-100 miles and use the yellow glasses and a u/v light to pinpoint the leakThe valve...
If rounYea those things r lifesavers! They have pulled me outta hard spots at work quite a few times, if its stripped out on the inside and just spinning on the stud u can try to get a flat head screw driver or something similer btween the frame and nut and push up while u turn, cut it off, or...
3 yrs ago i bought a 05 kawasaki ninja 750 for $2000, drove it for over a yr, traded for a (roughly) 350 whp 1990 mustang, kept and drove it till about 2-3 months ago and traded it for this one
Take a stroll thru some of the build journals at wht other peole have done and qht times they run etc. to get an idea of wht kinda mods u will need to perform to reach the #s u want
Brembos r prone to squealing, either kit ur lookin at will b way far greater than stock, the diff between 4 & 6 piston calipers is basically just the distribution of pressure over the pads, resulting in better pedal feel and better pad wear w/ the 6 piston over the 4, n a street application u...
Right u should set the crank just b4 tdc when installing belt, once belt is on rotate enginge twice by hand at the crank w/ crank stopping on timing mark and check both cams to make sure they r dead on, even one tooth of will run horrible
