What are you considering to be max boost? How much psi? These cars have a bad rep because of people that make unwise decisions while modifying them. They need tender love and care to be reliable, but they can be if we take the right steps. If you already have engine management sorted out, and...
Did you supply ground to the brown wire coming from the gauge? If it isn't grounded then ECM Link will not be getting a reading from the white wire going to your ECU.
They don't cost a whole lot more than the better pads and rotors that parts stores sell so I went with em plus I get a better deal working at one. But I do want to upgrade to bigger brakes cause they did not make a significant difference compared to another 1g with 3000GT calipers and rotors

Yeah bud, chances are you bought the car and the previous owner took the ECM Link out and replaced with a stock ECU which is programmed for a stock turbo so even if you have the injectors to support the turbo, you can't feed it enough fuel. If you have even a minor boost leak, you will run...
How did you blow the 20g?You should not have to mess with the air flow sensor. If you aren’t already on an upgraded MAF or Speed Density you have to recirculate the extra boost. Speed Density is highly recommended. You likely need bigger injectors and a fuel pump to support your new turbo as...
I use the AEM X Series UEGO (30-0300) in mine, it works well enough but I faced some issues where the pins backed out of the harness and then didn't stay in all of the time resulting in inconsistency. I was unable to get any warranty support for the issue and had to buy replacement harnesses...
Sorry that some of the pics are blurry I was driving lol. Here is a link to the kit I purchased. https://www.walmart.com/ip/H4-9003-Negative-Switched-Headlight-Conversion-Harness-Two-Relay-Design-Heat-Resistant-Ceramic-Socket-Fuse-Protected-Wiring-For-Ground-Triggered-H605/486747919
So the polarity reverser has yet to show but a h4 relay kit showed up today so i tried it first. I’m more drawn to this design as it is fused however there is also more wiring with it. It only utilizes one connection also. But it works! And I love these headlights!
Still waiting on the kit to get here, also ordered a h4 relay harness to try also, which is just an alternative to the polarity switch method suggested by GroteI will keep you posted
I have done the Hella H4 Conversion and put in HID on a previous car. The one I am currently driving had a similar setup but with LED bulbs. They were not Hella lens, but they were some after market lens with a 9006 bulb fit in place. Unfortunately the previous owner also hacked up the harness...
Gotcha. Well it sounds like you just aren't hearing what you expect to hear but the cars running the way that it should. I daily drive a stock ecu with a 14b which requires MAF and recirculating BOV so its very quiet on shift naturally. You can hear the slightest noise between shifts, but...
What on earth were you pushing it to 110 for if you are even slightly considering it has an issue? The factory gauge is essentially your ECU guestimating how much boost you have based on engine load. It cannot be trusted as you could have a blown coupler (essentially a full boost leak) and it...
WOW man yeah that body kit is so well done! Really not a fan of the interior colors or the seats I would probably revert to black. but with that said it is done in a way that looks right so it's very acceptable. It appears to have a dressed up engine bay starting with a tubular manifold. I would...
Post a pic of the engine bay so we can help. You posted elsewhere and left this post without a reply with like four of us trying to help you now...Sounds like you just didn't hook up the new intake pipe correctly. If you post the picture as requested someone will spot what you've done and you...
The gamble is, all three sensors may not work. But, odds are at least one does. I would take the risk if I needed one. It is up to you if you want to see about them shipping it or just driving out to get it.
It appears to have all three sensors in tact along with the pigtail should you end up needing them, which you probably won't, but still a nice to have. The sensor you were looking at replacing appears to be a part of that unit as best as I can tell. I think it'd be worth risking since yours was...
If you look up a 92 Eclipse with a 1.8L on there, it shouldn't redirect you to incompatible parts. If you find one I imagine it will come with the Throttle Position Sensor, Fast Idle Air Valve, Idle Speed Control Motor attached (one of which may have been faulty and you disassembled it)...
I don't see the part listed online for a 1.8l. Have you tried car-part.com? You can punch in the vehicle and find nearby salvage yards. You would probably need to look at buying a replacement throttle body at that point. when you call you call ask if it has sensors, etc.
Searching for "Gauge cluster bulb" I found this article which has your answer, a 2773
https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/the-correct-bulbs-for-gauge-cluster.534051/As @stealthee stated though there is a lot of work that goes into changing the look of your gauge cluster with just LED bulbs...
Thanks for the info and tips!I should be able to source it without too much problem, you might say I am "connected" lol.I don't know if there is a difference between the ones for a 90 vs 91 vs 92-94, I would imagine there would be as the 90 has so many other nuiance differences.
Did you do any testing on your DSM Stock Replacement manifold with vs without the stock DSM Split Flange? To clarify I am wondering what the split flange design changes vs one without. I am curious if there would be any gain or loss to remove the flange.
Hello, I recently found a source for almost an entire AC System for my 1990 Eclipse. I can get almost everything I can think I will need to reintroduce AC into my car.I found a new compressor with clutch
a new condenser
a new discharge line
a new filter/dryer
a new expansion valve
a new belt...
Definitely worth saving, but someone is ripping you off to charge you $100 per head stud if that is the stretch bolt you are referring to. You can get all 10 of them for under $200 easily. Then the head gasket job is really not that much work. You could do it yourself and save a ton of money.
As titled I need a healthy AWD Filler neck for a 1g, fixing it temporarily with JB Weld and a stainless ones in the books for spring but waiting for them to start producing one.
Miller Import Parts are located in NC and they are a DSM graveyard. It would be worth reaching out to someone there. My brother, probably has a parts car with interior that could be scavenged but shipping might be stupid just because of the size of some of the pieces.
I seen a video of someone doing that also on a CRV. It might make it easier and as long as the axle is seated in the trans and the half shaft is bolted up it would be safe to do.
I wasn’t suggesting you ordered the wrong part, all too often the wrong part gets sent out when ordering.Make sure the part numbers on the box match what you ordered.Hopefully someone else can chime in if there is a known trick to reseating the cv axle to the half shaft. The passenger...
Honestly I have never had to do that step before. :ohdamn:My job was to take them apart. I would imagine it should just slide back together though. I wonder if the replacement CV was the correct part?
Glad we could help! Putting it back together is basically the same thing in opposite.Be careful putting the axle back in, you do not want to break the seal. Then, if you have an AC Compressor nothing to consider, but if you don't you are technically supposed to put spacers between the half...
Nice work, to seperate them, you just need to use a small sledge hammer to knock the intermediate shaft off. Tap the carrier bearing, it will come off with the intermediate shaft. It doesn't take a lot of force, dont aim for the ear either, just tap the lip until it comes off.
Are you running stock computer and MAF still?I had a similar issue happen to me on my 1g with a 14b on stock everything, not really a downshift but an aggressive 2nd gear pull and it ended up popping a coupler off going into 3rd and I thought I blew my turbo or something. I could hardly drive...
I've always pulled it as one unit. It would probably be tough to knock the intermediate shaft off with it still in the car, and again potentially hurt your axle seals in the trans. You can use a small sledge to seperate them from eachother.
I am not under the car right now, but that is generally the procedure I go through. If you can see where the axle goes into the transmission and can pry on it with a prybar, you should not need to remove the T-Case.I used to tear these cars down for my brother so my objective wasn't...
By now you probably already sorted it out, but yeah the bar you are pointing to is commonly refered to as the north/south bar and if you remove it you should be able to get to the half-shaft carrier bolts you need to remove easier. If it has a half-shaft that means it is AWD, so you will have to...
I see you lowered the price in the headline, I am happy to help you rewrite it, but I don't want to rewrite it for you.If you wanna go through it and make adjustments using some of my suggestions I am happy to proofread it and give more advice from there.
The Shootout is so much fun, I wish I could say I have been to more of them. I know I have missed out on the best ones, but I am part of the generation to keep this thing going for as many more years to come as we can.I met several people this year that are just starting out their DSM...
The bolt on mods actually depreciate the value. The examples of these cars that fetch a great deal of money are show cars or literally stock.
This one sold on BaT for $12,000 at some point and is now asking close to $60k for a bone stock car with under 25k miles.
There is another one that...
Realistically this car could sell for whatever the buyer is willing to pay, but as others have pointed out, the time that you put into it will never be recouped. The buyer you have in mind has money but doesn't have the time or knowledge to go find a clean shell and build the car from the...
My 90 has an unknown trans, believe it is a 90 but I haven't confirmed - just too lazy cause it works.I have a 90 shift base with 91-94 cables and 90 brackets on my transmission.I had to make my cable adjustment on the transmission brackets in order to get it to shift right.
