I am replacing rear control arm bushings and the bushing for upper arm are like 5mm bigger then the hole in the arm. What is normally done: make them fit buy heating them up or should I trim?

My arms are ready to be picked up. So I was wondering if anyone had control arms powder coated and the installed bushings and ball joints in them? If so what did you do to prevent damage to the coating? Pictures are welcome.
