    Possibly relocating to SF, questions

What city are you planning on moving to? Cops vary quite a bit by area. Two plate state. In my experience they don't pull you over just for that but they will ticket you for it if they have you pulled over for something else.As Far as smog issues I've never been to a referee so I can't...

Best road racing turbo on 2.4

If FP is recommending the 3052 I think I would just go with that. Of course I already happen to have one so take it with a grain of salt.As others have stated I think it's a lot harder to learn to drive with a fast car as it does foster the development of bad habits such as not...

    03-06 Evo Crank in a 92.5-99 7-bolt

I've been wondering the same thing. My concern with the Evo pistons is the offset for the wrist pin. When installing the pistons in a DSM engine the piatons are 180 degrees off.

Phil remember all the parts you want for this engine are 6-bolt parts i.e. a 90-early 92 engine. water pump, front case etc.For the boost pressures you are going to run the ARP head studs are fine. Leave the L 19 stuff to the 35+ psi guys. You are going to use 4g63 adjustable cam gears...

Phil you can use 91-94 coil packs with the 2g wiring harness. You can't use the 90 coil pack as the connector plug is different. I just took my 2g coils and mounted them to the 1g bracket as they were newer (why use the old ones I figured). Then just mount it to the IM like stock.

The girdle helps to keep the main bearings from fretting. This is a problem more common with the 100mm cranks. I think it's cheap insurance for $150.00. It's not mandatory just a good idea. Call Sean over at Full Function and ask his advice. He's got way more experience at this than me. PM me...

Do me a favor and get that main girdle. It's really best to give it to the machine shop with the engine so they can line bore the block with the girdle installed. You'll be happy you did it later.Look forward to seeing you at the track too. Be nice to not be the only DSM beating up on the...

Best road racing turbo on 2.4

I've been thinking about your turbo sizing question for the last day or so. The bigger turbos we've been discussing get their higher flow rates at higher boost pressures. If you're only going to run 22 psi you are giving up the advantage a larger turbo will have over a smaller one. At 20 psi...

A few things to consider for your build.I would recommend a main girdle for your bearing caps. This will help to keep your main bearings happy as you bomb around the track. The lack of a main girdle in the G4CS can lead to fretting of the main bearings over time.To make your conversion...

Creating a Fast Lap database, need suggestions

Thunderhill Raceway has four configurations. Normal and CW, both with or without the bypass.Reno-Fernley raceway in Fernley Nv. is another one to add to the list. Only problem I can see is that it has so many configurations that it would be a bear to list them all.

GT35r ok for road race/autox or should I get something smaller?

I'm not advocating people go out and buy a 35r for roadcourses. Since he has one already there are ways to mitigate it's size is all.

GT35r ok for road race/autox or should I get something smaller?

As far as lag coming out of corners just get on the gas sooner. That way you are spooled on corner exit or you can drive around lag with tools such as left foot braking. :sneaky:
