Can anyone tell me what the hole circled in red is for? Someone filled it with silicone. It's a 91' 6-bolt. I've searched the forums but couldn't come up with an answer. Thank you.
I currently have PTE 880cc injectors fitted in an AEM fuel rail:https://stmtuned.com/products/aem-high-volume-fuel-rail-1g-2g-dsmI've been dealing with what I think are boost leak issues related to the injectors/fuel rail. So to be a bit safer (the o-rings on the AEM fuel rail don't seal...
Article Part 2:Motor Oil 105
Part Five. Let’s use top gear:Let’s go racing. I will discuss driving in traffic jams in the Florida summer as well as racing in Sebring though there is no commonality. People lump these two driving situations together but there is no overlap. On the race track...
The below article is a historical post that was removed from their main website at some point. I went on the WayBackMachine and pulled the snapshot from 2009 and posted it here. There was a mention on a DSMTuners post about it in this thread...
@TK's9d2TSi Completely agree, prolly gunna need a helicoil/timesert. The master rod adjustment is right where it should be and the clutch fork sits where it should.@Mello Completely agree.@twicks69 Completely agree, I'll pull it soon. For this particular application do you think I should go...
Thank you @TK's9d2TSi + @nismojones . I'm just trying to check and see if it's there, I couldn't locate it but was able to with the help here. It's there but it feels "righty loosey" RIP :(. Been dealing with some 'clutch drag' type issues.
Do you have an open thread? I don't want to flood this one with posts etc discussing the issues you're going through. Just let me know and I'll see if I can chime in.
Bit broke right now - trying to get it back on the road without any additional costs. But, if replacing the o-rings with the ones I have doesn't work I'll likely just order a 91-94 fuel rail and call it done. 400HP-ish - I know the stock fuel rail is more than sufficient. I bought the car with...
Does anyone have info on how to properly rebuild/reseal an AEM fuel rail? I've replaced the o-ring on the side where I was getting a fuel leak, however, it doesn't seem to have helped. The o-ring I replaced was completely destroyed - but the replacement o-ring came from an o-ring kit I have...
Yuuuup thank you. Those struts+springs ride great. We were gunna put those skirts on the rally car but haven't gotten to it yet so it may go on after the event.
She doesn't get out too much right now. One of my buddies dailied it for a little bit while his DSM was dead but other than that we've just been pulling it out for the Rocky Mountain Rambler. I think we're gunna start taking it down to Pueblo, CO for the sand dunes there and we had plans last...
This is our 1G Rally car build that we've been running for the Rocky Mountain Rambler 500. It's 1991? Mitsubishi GSX with a spider diff and 4 bolt rear end. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of the photos from the first year. There are some but I'm missing a lot of them. Apparently, these 1G's...
Looking for 1G AWD front and rear suspension springs or potentially coil overs dependent on price, condition, and brand. I also may be interested in 1G AWD front and rear struts dependent on mileage, condition and brand.Currently have 1G Megan lowering springs on blown struts.
I don't know - I suspect that it had to do with the SBC clutch and its geometry. A potential difference in our experience is that my flywheel was brand new ( specs unverified, apparently ACT flywheel are known to be out of spec even new ) and when I had it stepped and resurfaced it was its first...
I'm not sure it's advisable to provide this link...The website is dead but "The Wayback Machine" still hosts a copy:https://web.archive.org/web/20060309091649/http://4g64.150m.com/
I think that's '..within spec...' RE the shift fork position in the window. However, as I remember I also had a shim added which ended up being taken out. Mine was also in the '..correct..' position in the window. I pretty much have the same set-up on mine minus the shimmed fulcrum.Started...
I chased issues on mine for a while, in the end I think it was the flywheel step height and free-play in my pedal assembly. The pedal assembly is easy to check. I would not try any extended master cylinder rods, slave cylinder shims/ext rods etc. I went down this path and destroyed a new SBC...
There's a sealing o-ring on the fuel pump hanger that when re-installed incorrectly may cause the fuel system to lose pressure. I have the same issue on my 1G but I haven't pulled the pump to confirm. I'll see if I can find the thread that references it.Found it...
Here's some vendors that have OEM parts that we use regularly:ExtremePSI, JNZ Tuning, MachV Motorsports, STM Tuned, DSMPartsOnline.com, and a few others.Good luck. <3
I have LEDs in a H4666 housing from Amazon. I had to saw off some round tabs on the back of all four of them with a hacksaw though. Other than that I had to unplug the headlight motor and manually tilt them down since they're so bright. OP might have found a better option that doesn't require...
