    2G Mishimoto fan issue

Sorry for the late reply but the issue ended up being wires going to the incorrect pins on the plug and play fans. I cut and soldered them to the correct pins and everything works properly.

    Walbro 255 random shutoff

That last post was actually wrong. I finally managed to catch the problem on a log. MAP sensor is having issues. Problem solved.

    Walbro 255 random shutoff

Hey. I'm just updating this thread in case anybody else has a similar issue and is looking for a resolution.I replaced the Walbro 255 with a DW300 and there was no change to the issue. At this point I'm assuming the pumps are fine.I think the problem was that I had finally exceeded the...

Can I wire my pump this way? / Diagnosing fuel pump issues.

I thought this was the case but wanted to be sure. I'll look into the rewire ground again but I had this issue before the rewire as well. My STM relay is run from the factory power wire in the back, just before the pump. To clarify, my plan would be to not run the factory power wire at all. My...

Can I wire my pump this way? / Diagnosing fuel pump issues.

I'd like to see if I can wire my fuel pump a certain way but first here is some information about why I'm asking.Ever since I installed a Walbro 255 and Aeromotive fpr I've had an issue with the fuel pump randomly cutting off. I usually can't re-start immediately but I can after waiting 10...

    Walbro 255 random shutoff

Yeah it's definitely not fun getting stranded. Thankfully I was only on a main road one of the times it cut off. Also that I have a second daily for when my race daily does this haha. The pump does work. I'll drive it for a couple of days without issues and then it just randomly cuts out. I...

    1G turbo questions

I'd just get a rebuild on the one you already have then, it should be good for 300 anyways. Put that extra money away for Link. It's a world of difference. You'll run better and make more power.

    1G turbo questions

If I was shooting for some extra power on a daily car I would probably go with a 20g w/ a billet wheel or something right at that size. A lot of people like the FP turbos too and it bolts right up. The lag wouldn't be much more than you have now and it'll flow so much better. It's really going...

    Walbro 255 random shutoff

I'll check out the stock relay and run a 12 gauge signal wire to the rewire relay. My money is on faulty pump as well. I was planning on getting an ethanol rated pump later this year anyways its just a huge annoyance if a name brand pump is failing within a week of use.
  10. jon95dsm

    Walbro 255 random shutoff

You're referring to the factory power wire that triggers the relay, not the little bit that remains as a power wire after a pump rewire, correct? I can give that a shot. The only part that doesn't clear up is that I was having the issue before doing the rewire as well. I did read that some...

    Walbro 255 random shutoff

Yes I got the Walbro installation kit as well so the only reused part is the plastic spacer on the pump outlet.

    Walbro 255 random shutoff

Hey guys. I'm having an issue since upgrading my fuel system and didn't see anything quite the same using the search function. This started after installing a Walbro 255 and an Aeromotive fpr.A few days after installing the pump and fpr I was cruising and my afr pegged lean then a few seconds...

1G my 91 talon starts cutting out when i get into boost

Either a log or more information is needed to give a good answer. There's lots of different problems it could be so any symptoms helps cut that list down. Is the boost building really slowly? Is it getting to wastegate pressure? Is it getting to the psi your boost controller is set to? If not...

    ECMlink tune help please

Typically if your fuel trims are in line and you're still getting knock, it means you need to remove a little timing. You managed to get it from 4-7 down to 1-2. So you'd remove 1-2 degrees at the spot where its still knocking. Have you been running 15 psi without knock in the past or did you...

2G No start, has fuel and spark, ECMlink,E85,PTE1600cc

Since you're still new to tuning it would be best to just leave all of the direct access settings alone until you know exactly what you're changing and why you're making that change. You can accomplish most of what you need to do from the ECU config settings.

2G No start, has fuel and spark, ECMlink,E85,PTE1600cc

It's good you're seeing some results but some of the settings make no sense at all. You said further back in your thread that you're using the OmniPower MAP sensor plugged into the stock MDP plug but your inputs tab now has "baro" listed as the MAP input. That needs to be changed back to MDP...

Driver's Side Motor Mount Bolt Issues

I don't know enough about its tolerances to give accurate advice but a friend of mine builds dsms professionally. I'll ask him his opinion when he gets off of work.

Driver's Side Motor Mount Bolt Issues

It looks like the correct part. I'm pretty confident mine is straight like the one you got from STM. Can take a look in the afternoon to be sure. Checked the oem parts listed on extremepsi to compare and it looks exactly the same. Do the threads on the mounting bracket still look good?

2G No start, has fuel and spark, ECMlink,E85,PTE1600cc

The TPS box isn't checked. The values have been changed but its not turned on. I wouldn't expect that to cause it to not start though. Also since the intake was changed, was the throttle adjusted properly?

Alright stay 450 then. The increased global will help for now. Gl finding a fuse. For the wideband, look at the post where I showed the picture of my inputs tab. 2G No start, has fuel and spark, ECMlink,E85,PTE1600cc

There are 2 things I would do. The first is that the PTE injectors are actually overrated by about 6-8% at 43 psi so you probably need a little more global fuel. Try -55% that's what it came to with that taken into account. Also the ecmlink page only shows PTE injectors up to 1000cc but the...

18g turbo with billet turbine wheel

To find out if this turbo is worth buying you need some more information about what needs to be rebuilt. Some side to side shaft play can be fixed with a basic rebuild. In and out play is a bit more serious. If it's bad enough that it needs a new center housing, its not worth your time. Also...

    1999 GSX DSMLink or MAFT?

There is a huge difference. The maft is intended to adjust fuel trims and to let you use a GM maf instead of the stock one. DSMLink does fuel trims, timing tables, fuel tables, speed density capability, custom pin inputs, and much much more. Too much to sit here and individually list everything...

    Power Goal Req

Sounds good. Look over what people are running a bit before you decide. Most of the FIC and ID injectors are E85 safe now. If they aren't its usually the small sizes. 750cc will get you to your 300 goal. For 450-500 you'll need to look closer to the 1100-1300 range.
  32. jon95dsm

    Power Goal Req

I did think of one other thing to look into while the car is down getting work done. Since your clutch is unknown go ahead and pull it out and see what it is and how much life it has left. Check the flywheel for cracks too. Last thing you'd want is to build your dream car then have a worn out...
  33. jon95dsm

    Power Goal Req

You'll have higher peak hp with the longer duration. But when you go longer you do sacrifice the low end. It all just depends what your overall goal for the car is. If you're favoring everyday drivability and see a good bit of traffic you may choose to go with the 264/264 just because its easier...
  34. jon95dsm

    Power Goal Req

The evo injectors will get you further than the dsm ones but you'll still probably cap out before 300 wheel. If you want to run E85 look at the ID1300x injectors. They are E85 safe and from what I've seen they are about as large as you can go while still having a good idle/cruise tune on gas...
  35. jon95dsm

    Power Goal Req

There are just a few things I would suggest. You're on the right track already.1. There's a chance those injectors won't get you quite to 300. I'm running FIC 650s making right at the hp you want and I hit 80% duty cycle on 93 octane. You might consider going for a set of 650s or 750s just to...

2G How far can i go on pump gas?

This. You have V3 Alex so you could always go for a flex fuel system. The supporting mods for ethanol are a bit pricier than running a meth kit but you did say you were looking at going that route at one point anyways.I haven't finished yet but that is what I'm going to be doing on my car...

1G desperatley seeking some ecmlink advice

Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. I've gotten comfortable with Link but I'm not an expert by any means either. AFREst is just that, an estimate. The ECU could think hes running stoic in open loop based on the settings its looking at even if the car is actually rich/lean.There's...

1G desperatley seeking some ecmlink advice

Where are you seeing this? High o2 voltages are rich. That's why its at -30% fuel trim on closed loop log.
  39. jon95dsm

1G desperatley seeking some ecmlink advice

The wideband should be able to confirm or deny it staying too rich to cycle o2 whenever you get it hooked up. Do you have an aftermarket IAT sensor? I ask because I'm using a GM sensor but if I log the stock one, it sits there at 77. Seems to be the default number if it's not getting a signal...

1G desperatley seeking some ecmlink advice

Is ECUBoost your MAP sensor? Also can you log your wideband? I didn't see any available to view. Are you able to verify fuel pressure? Dual 450s is very overkill if you're only going to be running a single set of 1000cc injectors. There's a good chance they're keeping it too rich for the o2 to...

Knock and inconsistent AFRS at low boost (log included)

If you're shooting for 11:1 it looks like it just needs a little fuel taken out over 1000Hz across the board. Your pulls don't go all the way up so I can't really say past 5k. It's also going rich when you let off the throttle. There's not really a whole lot you can do to stop that entirely...

    2G Mishimoto fan issue

Thanks for the response. I sent them an email Sunday night, waiting for an answer now. Hopefully by the end of the day. It's raining today but tomorrow I'm planning on checking the Mishimoto connectors to make sure it's not something as simple as a wire accidentally put in the wrong pin.

I recently bought a Mishimoto radiator and fan shroud with dual slim fans. The shroud package comes with connectors that are plug and play. 2G First time eclipse owner need help please!

Do you have a way to watch oil pressure when you're driving it? These cars are known to have bad lifter tick so that's likely what you're hearing from the head. If it bothers you too much you can switch them for revised 3g lifters. It won't go away entirely but it'll be a lot better than with...

    2G tire size and recommendations

I have 235/40/17 Sport Comp 2s on 17x8 wheels and love the way they fit and the tire size compared to the wheel width. My car is on Eibach Pro-Line springs and KYB GY2 shocks.
