So I got 97 eclipse with a 420a, and my transmission is in need of replacement. Shop I took it down to said it's cheaper to just get a used one, since to rebuild it will cost $1200 (about $700 were in parts) . So I got a 97 eclipse, 420a motor and my shifter stopped shifting into reverse. Checked out the linkages, bushings, clips etc and came to the conclusion that it's an internal issue with my gear. I will either send out my tranny to be rebuilt, or get a used one (still indecisive). My question is...

Def. Sounds like an alignment issue. When I lowered my car, my thrown off camber was definitely not griping the road correctly.

+1 after installing my clutch, about 5 months my car did the same thing. Replaced the TOB Again and clutch fork, been running like a champ for more than 2 years now.
