I see you watch PF too. I love watching his channel. Allows many of us to really see the real value of many items we look at to purchase without having to find out the hard way, if the cost is worth it. Shows as close to real world comparisons as you can get. Allows me to know when to go...

1G OEM engine bay wire sizes

I guess I am either blind, dumb, or a little bit of both :banghead:. I did see that, but it never registered in my brain that, that was the wiring size, not sure why. I probably didn't understand how to read it at first, and just skipped over it, then never thought to look again. Also probably...

I haven't touched any of the wiring or car since Sunday. But I have been thinking about what I am gonna do as for the wiring. As I was following the wires around, I noticed that the wires that come through the firewall on the passenger side, lead all the way around the front then back into the driver side frame hole that looks like it leads to inside the car for the fuse block under the driver side dash. Is this...

    1992 Turtle

I did not include the fan as I am adding in a separate switch for it/turn on and off automatically through @Vegas Smith way. Also the coolant sensor and IAT/SD was not included as it is an add in and not in the current main harness I am pulling and rewiring.

    1992 Turtle

So with what I did today and marked everything, I want to make sure I got all the plugs marked that I need to. This is a street legal car, without all the creature comforts for the most part. For under the hood, I have marked...CAS ISC Injectors x 4 Knock sensor Coil pack (idk it's proper...

  35. 90'AWDTalonFroggy

    1992 Turtle

There is a few I am not sure if I have to keep any or all of them. I plan to run a new coolant sensor into the back of the thermostat housing. Which will eliminate the stock location on the radiator. I am running an aftermarket aluminum radiator. So my question is do I even need any of these...

    1992 Turtle

There is a few plugs that I need to replace. Because they were broke from the start.1st- CAS, being held in place with a wire wrapped around the plug.2nd - PTU? Was glued in I had to zip tie it.3rd - TPS plug, it too was glued in.
  37. 90'AWDTalonFroggy

    1992 Turtle

As I was going through marking everything, I found one that I just can't believe it is still running and hadn't broke yet. It is literally being held on by just 1 strand of wire.
  38. 90'AWDTalonFroggy

    1992 Turtle

Well I managed to somehow find a little bit of time to get out and work on the car today. All I did was start labeling which plugs I need to keep.
  39. 90'AWDTalonFroggy

    1992 Turtle

I haven't changed any of the fuse box wiring from stock other then what I have posted, I believe around post #43. But I am planning on moving it to inside the cabin. If not just rewiring everything, as you will see a few connectors need replaced.
  40. 90'AWDTalonFroggy

    1992 Turtle

So I was asked on exactly how I had the car wired with the battery in the trunk. So this is how. I hope this helps, anyone who might need it one day.

    1992 Turtle

I managed to get out to the garage for a short while. So I pulled the plastics covering the wires that run from the battery to upfront. I could have left this alone, but I want to change it up a little as you will see, I also wanted to put lugs with soder on instead of the crimp style that is...

    1992 Turtle

So with that, that came to the conclusion of what I was able to get done as of Thanksgiving weekend. Now time to do things won't be as much going forward. But I will be doing my best to get as much time as I can to work on everything.
  45. 90'AWDTalonFroggy

    1992 Turtle

That is its final resting place, until I get my leveler and the correct bolt sizes to put it on the stand. So I worked a little bit on pulling stuff out of the engine bay. It looks a little cleaner as I pulled some stuff out of it. With alot more to go.
  46. 90'AWDTalonFroggy

    1992 Turtle

Once the motor was out, I took some more photos obviously. But I also wrestled to get it on my engine stand, but it wasn't having any of it. So once I get my leveler I will get it on the stand and order some of the correct size bolts, anyone know what sizes we need? 😁
  47. 90'AWDTalonFroggy

    1992 Turtle

After I got the xfer case out, it was time to work on pulling the motor out in its entirety. It wasn't as easy as I had hoped it would be for me. A few reasons, primarily cuz I do not currently own an engine leveler, but I will by the time I need one again. Also cuz I am doing this by myself...

    1992 Turtle

After the exhaust and getting the axles pulled next up was the xfer case, and Holy cow was is it dirty. But you know what, it is under the car getting all that dirt and grime. Plus before I installed.the catch can the oil that would cent out of the pcv was leaking directly on to it. My question...

    1992 Turtle

While pulling the axles I pulled the downpipe as well, since it would make my life easier getting to the half shaft carrier bearing bolts. As well as it needs to be detached from the 02 housing anyways to pull the motor. The gasket well it has definitely seen better days, as when I unbolted the...
