1.5 hours by myself w/out power tools. What do all normally start taking apart first? I always get em up on stands and start with the suspension(axles). They can be time consuming at times.
My last coolant leak was the water neck o-ring that plugs into the t-stat housing. This o-ring is a PITA to come by but NAPA can order you a Felpro replacement. Check the general area to determine where the leak is coming from first as this will most likely help us help you pinpoint the problem...
Almost 4 years later and still holding up decently?:thumb: Considering my car is strictly just a daily, I might as well consider these for the price!!:hellyeah:
The hex bolts(allen keys)screw and tighten to the actual cylinder base. Just unscrew them to remove the adjusting unit. And correct..you do not need a spring compressor.
Sometimes its cheaper to do an AWD SWAP as you can find FWD turbo cheap. Also, wow this thread is showing some grey hairs haha. Funny how easy it is to do the swap, and how much information there is speaking of this topic around these days.Is the TSI AWD? Also, what year is it?
30lbs of boost is a pretty decent number. Has it ever been dyno tuned? If so, the numbers might be pretty interesting. Oh, is that the car as your avatar and is a body kit on it?
If I were you, I would "dig" deep into the car before purchasing it. 1000 dollars might seem like a good deal but normally is when you are buying someone else's headache that they just simply cannot complete. Did a shop install the engine? List of mods? Receipts for any type of work, parts...

To be honest, that is a question that can't really be responded to. A lot of factors matter when purchasing insurance. Tickets, drivers history, age, etc..say for instance..I'm 28 and pay 62 dollars for full coverage on my gst. Being your age, new driver, blah blah..you might be paying more...
To be honest, their really isn't any easy way of replacing the knock sensor. It can be replaced without the intake manifold being removed tho(skinny arms). Being that you are AWD, going from the bottom would be a pain and near impossible. If you can't get it by simply reaching around, over...
Are you 100% sure the mechanical timing is at TDC? If the timing is off, it could result in the MAF not working properly or throwing it out of wack just the slightest.
Why not go with a holset in a bolt on housing? Very cost effective and can definately achieve your HP goals. Makes for a darn good street turbo too...as for a street setup, I would lean torwards an 8 blade hx35 or hx40 as they are the quickest in spool out of the bunch. But, if you can get your...

Good evening dsmtuners! To start off, I am not new to DSM's but relatively new to the way tire sizes, offsets, etc. come in handy. I do understand the whole aspect of how to determine what exactly "offset" means. Lower the number the deeper the mounting surface is correct?Anyways, I am...
