Actually I have a 1g dsm, I don't have an EVO, Im trying to find out if the bracket adapter that allows Evo 8/9 Brembos to go on 1g's will also fit Evo X Brembos on those same brackets
Hi guys,
Good to be back on the forums, I have a 92 1G and need some Brembo front brackets/adapters.
I've searched thru lots of threads including KVM's old one, but I only see them for EVO 8-9, does anyone make them for EVO X's? Wondering what fellow dsmers are doing now
😊 thanks
Hey man - Happy Thanksgiving..I'm assuming by checking the rings? I would have to pull out the pistons which I may be uncomfortable doing but if I have I have to...That's exactly what I was thinking, valve stem seals and blow by as I had alot of oil in the crankcase even with a new valve...
wow - simply awesome to read, your a walking encylopediaNew Pics..
I rotated the crank to look at cylinders 1 & 4 (previous was #2 as that was the one with lower compression).I see significantly more scoring but I also still see cross hatching. The vertical scoring I can't grab with my...

I love the peel & seal - I use the 6" wide by 25' roll I think..I used Dynomat - not too good for the price, Brown Bread if I remember was very good for the price, it's an unknown sound deadening material. But the Peel & Seal works great & is priced great.I did a whole Jeep Cherokee with one...
GST with PSI - here is a close up the HG - cyl 3 & 4 and 1 & 2.So I'm at the point where the head gasket & block are in good order - but I bought a new OEM HG (not multilayer) so I;m ok there. The timing belt & balance belt looks to be recent - but no sticker for replacement in the bay...
GST with PSI...thanks for the note...I will sending out the head not the block.I was thinking of putting some oil in all cylinders and recheck later to see if #2 lost more than the others but can I rotate the crank at this point so the pistons are all even? Im certain I would mess up any...
Hi fells -Looks like a 99 Eclipse just came into my local pick & pull & I'm wondering about a 4 bolt swap but I'm still not 100% sure of a few things:-It has to be manual to manual
-AWD to AWD
-Can't do Turbo to N/T - it's poss but gear ratio's will be off?The last thing I'm not...
Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback - prob is they only allow you so much upload Kilobytes while your on probation, so I had to resize them to be smaller.GST with PSI - here is the #2 cylinder in question - the scoring on the right wall you cannot fell/grab with your finger nail.My...

Hey fellas...I posted on an earlier thread and wanted to update once I got the head off.
90 tsi awd with 240, 000 kms (140k miles) all stock but I bought it with a pretty bad oil leak by the p/s pump/timing belt area with some traces of coolant. Coolant was clean...no traces of oil. Slight...
I agree too much right after you replaced the ignition...
Seems like stuff got "reset" dumping fuel, etc...
The ignition would not cause any of that so yes try a donor ECU first....if that doesn't solve it then u mentioned the vehicle running hot, poss it could damaged the main harness? Did the...
Those are good questions but see if you can have someone look at your shift linkage under the hood looking down under the intake while your trying to engage the gear, see if they see anything getting hung up or something - do it while its idling and when its off
Yeah lots to chew over, thanks for the advice guys...I don't think the turbo was leaking, I had no smoke under boost, only at start up and parking lot driving, which tells me valve stem as well.I have to look at the back of the turbo as suggested, I will take the head off this Saturday...
Thanks for replying...Yeah I meant thr tiny cracks were on the turbo side where it meets the mani...Thanks for the link, I haven't seen that one before - I like how it's more condense than some others I've seen...In anyone's opinion, should I take the head off? It only smoked at...

Interesting read....The way I see it you have nothing to lose by going easy on it for a bit - if use the hard break in method, there's always that chance or voice in the back of your head wondering...Just my $0.02
Okay so I got my drill batteries sorted out and my OEM pump came, the box looks like 23 years old!I'm waiting on my tensioner and pullies now...Question: if I'm removing the t-belt and front cover w/pump to remove the head, do I still need the special tools foe the t-belt when I reassemble it?
No!!! LOL! I know it pays to play - it's not my first rodeo :-)Thanks fellas...I flew out to Calgary and drove it back 7 hours later on with no overheating issues. I checked the coolant and I didn't really see any mixing going on either. Oil smelled like usual gas smell..As far as...
