Picked this gem up about a month and a half ago from a guy up in Greensboro, NC. He was the second owner and had obtained it from the original owners estate sale. The car was a little rough around the edges but it ran good and I took a chance and picked it up. Since then I’ve just been focusing...
I think I am gonna go with the gloss black spoiler, I think it will look good. Really make the car pop. He’s getting started on it next week. It’s gonna take him about a month because he does the work at nights and on weekends. But he does good work and it’s totally gonna be worth it.
Thank you! I will pass the information on to my paint guy and I will post pictures of the progress! If you’re in NC around Wilson, I have a guy who is affordable and does good work.
Might be the guys machine, have you tried any where else? I’m in Wilson county myself... I had an issue with my 2g when I had it where the readiness codes wouldn’t set, it seemed to take forever to get them to set.
Hey guys, I’ve been trying to search to find this and I’m having a hard time finding an answer so I’m hoping a more knowledgeable member might know. I’m doing a resto mod on my 1ga talon and I’m having it painted with in the next couple of weeks. What I would like to know is the spoiler supposed...
You have much to learn young grass hopper. The best thing you can do is read over the tech forums, they have a ton of useful information. You will want to worry about many other things first.
Thanks for the responses guys. I agree with what you guys are saying, I think just at the end of the day I need to get my car tuned, I have a few other things I want to have taken care of before I actually get it tuned. Just to make sure I don't run into any hiccups while its at National Speed...
I will take a look at that, If it is off replace it again, it will be the 100000th one I have gotten. I would seem that could be the cause. I am at work right now but I can check it either this afternoon or tomorrow.OK, so the isc is good, I don't have any intake leaks, I think I have narrowed...
Now I have seen the post where the cams are just not lopey but this has truly blown my mind!I just installed HKS 272 cams, They idled lopey when I first cranked it, had a nice chop to it. I was loving it lol well I let it warm up then I drove it, after getting back from driving it, the car...
He also has a supra, a skyline (legit skyline), a grandnational, and a oldsmobile t type... His race car is a DSM. Its an auto talon. Hes a cool guy. Just an all out car guy. Strait up to buy from tooWe could do a meet here in Wilson, Im in the middle between raliegh, goldsboro, greenville. So...
I think I have narrowed down to the fiav. The plunger moves in and out like its supposed on the isc. My readings on link are good from the O2 sensor and the coolant temp sensor. As far as boost leaks go. My fmic is crap on this car. Its a scrap set up basically. So I plan on ordering a new...
Cold it starts at 800 (with the BISS all the way in) it gradually works its way to 1000, once it warms up it goes to 1900 and some time surges, its just really all over the place. once it warms up thats when its worse.I have seen the second one from a google search but the first one i have...
Ok, so I have this high idle problem I have been chasing. I think I have narrowed it down to two things. The FIAV or the coolant temp sensor. ( which im still not sure the coolant temp sensor would cause that.) Im gonna hook it up to link tonight to see exactly what all my sensors are putting...
My opinion for what it counts...If you have a buddy that is familiar with DSM, take him with you to look at the car. Duct tape on the intake doesnt sound to thrilling. I have never heard of some one getting rid of a car because they just "dont need it" unless its truely one of those rare...
as found here completely pointless lol, nah im just gonna put a boost controller on it eventually.I was thinking of getting a cheap manual one, I made one a long time ago and still have it I just dont want to blow up my car lolI "improved" it recently with a different spring and a new...
Ah, see I dont have factory lines. I only have regular vacuum hoses running from the compressor housing and the WGA to the BCSThank you very much. That was helpful
Im not to worried about it, I want to put a new front mount on it, new forge recirc valve and all that. I just wanted to try something. It didnt work I was just wondering if some one would know right off hand. A google search didnt provide much. But like I said, I am still in the early stages of...
When I was running just the waste gate actuator with the compressor housing I was doing 10 - 11 psi, and when I did the switch and connected it all up it still maintained the same boost level. ( in saying this I am assuming that my boost gauge is reading correctly seeing as stock boost is 10psi...
I think I will just do a manual boost controller soon. for a quick small upgrade. I have everything necessary to handle the boost I just need a way to get it there
pretty much what the title says, I removed my boost restrictor and did not gain any boost. Has any one ever experienced this? I was trying to just trying to do something small that would give my basic bolt on car some balls lol
First off I would like to say, I am very very pleased with my purchase from ecmlink.com. I ordered dsmlink on tuesday and got it yesterday sitting on my door step. I have the lite version but I am still very impressed with the capabilities of the system. I do plan on upgrading to the full...
That would be the big advantage i need. I could buy 2.5 pass inspection then get v3 later. but I would hate to just throw money away when time would be all thats needed to fix the problem
First and for most. (just trying to be helpful and do not intend to sound like a jerk)We need to see exactly what is wrong with the car. Then go from there.once you figure that out you need to set a over all goal of what you want to do with the car. Just dd it, make it fast, autox, drag...
There is no missfire.I have a 1g cas which makes the computer think it has a missfire, when it does not.Its not a problem, just something that goes along with the mod if you dont turn of the missfire check.I tried the potmod and failed.... lolbut we live we learn so yea lol
My plan now is to install dsmlink then drive it a couple of times a day until it passes inspection. I plan on getting it painted first then doing that, Its about perfect weather for it now so I figured I would get that out of the way. Then dsmlink, fix a few other small things here and there...
