+1 on the Kiggly HLA because it will help lower the amount of oil in the cylinder head. Also in my setup, I put a check valve to keep the can from being pressurized at WOT. This check valve is placed at the end of the line that comes from the intake manifold to the catch can.
Red with white wheels is attention getting combo. A couple of red colors that stand out are Mazda Velocity Red, and Mazda Copper Red Mica.Or maybe stick with Mitsubishi colors and go with Rotor Glow.
Glad I came across this thread. Its awesome to see the process of painting this car. I am proud to see this show-quality work coming from the bay-area. I would love to this DSM in person. When is the next show that you are bringing the car to?
Sometimes its surprising to find out how cheap things can be. These calipers are replacements for the 2004 Cadillac CTS-V.If anyone wants to know ACDELCO 172-2288 is a brembo caliper for the right hand side. ACDELCO 172-2287 is for the left hand side. Then for the rear its ACDELCO Part #...
Those holes look like they were drilled for a hood scoop and locking pins.I also agree that an easy way to fix faded carbon fiber hoods is to sand them down and respray a clear coat. Sometimes people do the respray themselves and it doesn't look right.
If I had an experienced fabricator I would have him make me a custom exhaust manifold and intercooler pipes. Then a custom catch can that is part of the engine bay.If he has crazy master skills then I would have him make tubular subframes and tubular suspension arms with spherical race bearings.
Plastidip is awesome. If I had access to some I would have dipped my Evo by now.A couple fast ways to remove plastidip.1. Use SEM solvent #38373. I heard on the evo forums that it reduces the plastidip to dirty water. Then its easy to wipe off.2. Use 3M adhesive remover. Its not as good...
I personally run the Koyo Radiator. Its well-made and they stand by their product.I also recommend STM as I have dealt with them in the past and they have met all my needs.STM: 90-99 DSM | COOLING SYSTEM
British American TransferBritish American Transferhttp://97.74.32.155/files/metric.pdfI actually never knew about this before. Glad I came across this info.
Well even if you had to wait 9 months this looks like a well done paint job. What color is it called? To me it looks like a dark gray with silver flake.
For the money the Koni Yellow Struts with Eibach Springs are a economical option with great adjustability and dampening.I drove a car with these before and they absorb bumps and dips well.
It does sound like cams. This is weird. Who built it? Is it blueprinted? It also seems like an engine tuning issue. Has the ecu been reflashed or retuned?
On these wheels you can run 255/40/17 tires. Depending on the tire brand this tire size will be a decent tread height. Its about 2-3/4 inches of tire from the wheel.
I would go with the OEM mitsu head gasket and ARP headstuds.Isn't it common knowledge that the Head Bolts stretch once a Head Gasket is blown. In that situation you shouldn't reuse the head bolts because the length of each bolt might be different.
Just to be safe when pushing that much power I would run it on E-85.The injectors size is fine for E-85. This setup may cause the fuel pump to be the weak point but it should be fine for up to 400 awhp. For a gauge setup I would recommend either Zeitronix ZT2 or ZT3. It can read afr, boost...
For my Speed Density setup I was going to connect the IAT sensor to the MAF connector. They are available through this website: http://www.spoolinup.com
Just want to add that the IAT sensor tap for SD I have on my Evo is on the Upper Intercooler Pipe about 3 inches away from the Throttle Body on the pipe.
I was thinking about this today and orange cars are rare. An orange car catches your attention. Now, whether that attention is positive or negative is up to question.
Is this the kit you are referring to:
https://www.extremepsi.com/store/product.php?productid=17787I dont like mixing part brands. So I would chose to go with the replacement PTE seals for peace of mind. Its a good idea to have replacement seals. I know I lost a seal or two into the engine...
It could be the engine tune. If you were running a stock intercooler before then it makes sense that the car is bogging. The stock intercooler is usually smaller in volume than the aftermarket intercooler. The extra air volume changes the turbo's response.
Yep I looked at the instructions too and it makes sense cut the line. Then reconnect them with the plastic tee. Then run the vacuum line from the engine bay to the boost gauge. I usually use 5/32" ID rubber vacuum line for this.
Hello,Fellow Mistubishi owner here. I own an Evo VIII RS. I have had the Evo for almost three years. Its great but its a temptress. Finally decided to register on this site because I am interested in learning more about the Holset Turbos. They look like a good option and I would like...
