as title states, rear differential out of my 2G. Non LSD manual with no issues. Axles came out of the outer hubs with no issues. Best way to get ahold of me is text.$400 plus shipping330-eight hundred-8737
Several DSM engines for sale. No Shipping on these but may be willing to meet along East Coast1. 7 bolt split thrust X code engine. Very low miles, BSE kit installed. Excellent long block. $8002. 7 bolt short blocks. One is a 97 engine code so it may or may not be split thrust. Need to...
Got an odd one here and after doing some digging I figured I would put this out to the group. While working on a 97 Talon I noticed the inside of the front bumper cover is signed and dated with another number 107I believe this was done on the assembly line since it was dated November of 97...
Been doing some research lately and had a thought that I couldn't find any trial/error on. Methanol Injection has proven itself to be a simple powerful system and had a lot of speculation with using water as a fuel. How many years all of us fought to keep water out of our engines!!Anywho, my...
Good news: it can be fixed.
Bad news: you need different tools.Only way I can think of at this point is to finish it off with a carbide end mill and put the block right into a milling machine. Will take about half hour and you'll have a nice clean hole to work with.Problem your at now is...
Right now you have an empty profile with vague questions and back ground. Post some pics it helps a lot.Give us something to work off of.How do you figure the turbo and starter are shot?
Message our number?Ok guys this is hilarious, who posted this? You got me, I'm laughing, Jus is is you? Hector? It's gotta be one of those dang Suburu guys. Took a picture of his sister and made a fake profile. Or worse yet, the Honda forum!!!Going back to putting Talon together. Thanks...
I have spoken with some guys up in Canada who swear by a hogged out 14B over a 16G housing. They say even after the porting the 14 has more meat left than the 16. One trick is to fill the housing with a light oil like even olive oil, then dump it out and measure until you get the desired volume...
Ok that makes sense.I tried it both ways and was able to calibrate the sensor with the same result. The only difference with my theoretical wiring is that the light does not stay on all the time.So I think both work fine, I just wired it a little different so that the light only comes on...
Ok so found the problem there was a bad ground. Easy fix. Now I have another question. The BLACK calibration wire from the controller is supposed to split, one will go to the push button and the other to the LED then both will ground. The problem is this will bypass the switch because the LED...
I just installed a used LC1 wideband with new sensor. Going thru the calibration steps, i held the calibration button for 20 seconds with sensor unplugged. When I go to the next step, sensor plugged in, it just flashes 9 times with a 2 second gap. So error 9 is for low voltage. My battery reads...
+1
This ain't a small block Chevy tuna buddy, any modification needs compensation. You have to tune the car for these changes or go back to stock setup. I'll put money that a bone stock DSM would run circles around you right now.
You need to check clearance. Every piston is a little different and you need to make sure you have the right gap between the piston and cylinder walls. Then you also need to gap the rings, again to each cylinder.
I'm starting to boost around 3k, which for an 18G wheel is phenomenal. I don't have any numbers to give you, I had a stock 14B prior to this. I know it spools earlier and carries higher into the RPM and hits harder than the stock 14B. That's all I have though, just comparison.
18G.I have an EVO 3 turbine housing, 16G CHRA with custom thrust plates, 18G compressor wheel and custom machined Chinese 16G compressor cover. I used the Chinese housing because the cast surfaces are smoother than MHI, although a bear to machine.
I am running one. I can't tell you it adds 50 HP or anything like that, but the design and concept works as it advertises. The 9 blade has a much better trailing edge exit, similar to clipping, it allows smoother exhaust flow which does help with turbo lag. Some have a smaller lock nut than the...
I just installed an LC-1 wideband In the front O2 sensor position and tapped into pin 76 to log in Link.I was wondering if I need to leave the terminator plug in the input wire or remove it. If I understand correctly I'm not going to use the In/out wires since I'm logging with Link, but does...
I missed 2015, the car was not ready and was not able to go out to observe. My goal is to drive my Talon from North Jersey to Ohio for a long weekend trip. I'm may not even race, I just want to try for the long haul. A friend has a farm house that I can stay at about 45 minutes away so I'm...
We got a complete 7 bolt for sale out of a 97 Talon that was parted out for $700. And there are others around that price range on the classified. I still think your better off buying a complete runner to get you going.
There are a lot of good running engines for sale right now. It would be easier and cheaper to just do a swap. Then if you want to build a performance engine at least you can drive the car while you build.
I have to agree. Oil vapor will light before gas causing the detonation. There are other threads debating this but the bottom line is, there is always some level of toxin or moisture in the vent, why would you run that right back to your intake?I'm currently working on an atmospheric vacuum...
Dead giveaway is the lack of cast TDO... On the compressor housing and the round circles with lines are push out points from the die when it was cast. MHI push outs are much more discreet. The staggered 6 blade like that is what makes it a G series turbo. The B or C would not be staggered, all...
That is a 3 piece spoiler by Wings West.http://www.wingswest.com/catalog/Mitsubishi-1/Eclipse-1/19951999-Eclipse/Spoiler-1000/19951999-Mitsubishi-Eclipse-Commando-Wing-With-Light.html
Even with a good flush, baking soda could still get trapped in the baffle. If you look for pictures of the inside of the VC you'll see what I mean. There is no access in there, which is why usually people re-weld one. You could also just polish the VC.You have to pull the crank pulley anyway...
Since you want to paint the VC anyway, pull it and the cams to be safe.I strongly recommend using a cleaner like simple green on the gears and VC to avoid any damage or grit getting caught in the VC baffle from the blaster.
I may have one. I'll check in a little bit.Good sources for hardware are:DSM community from leftover parts cars.Fastenal. They have a good selection of hardware in stock and what they don't have they can usually order. Also check for a local car parts store or hardware store that is NOT...
I found a lot of good JDM parts on there that claim to still be available and everything I researched is ligit. They take PayPal so if it's bogus you can get your money back.Language barrier is Good and bad. Good is it enforces that this is a real Japanese source but obviously Japanese is very...
Try megazip.ruIf you order through them post if it was a good source or not.I have been waiting to pull the trigger on a big purchase with them but have not gone thru yet
so there is no engine in this but you just wanted to hook up power to test things?Did you connect the white wires from the under hood fuse box to the positive terminal of your battery?
Could be any number of things Jeff. The AC belt as you mentioned should be on it's own, so if it blew it won't prevent the car from starting. I think your on the right track with looking for something the belt took out when it broke. The starter and wiring are on the passenger side of the car so...
I see your dog was chewing again. The gouges shown in the picture will not have any affect on compression. The gasket will seal next to it as long as there are no positive burrs or nicks. Run an Arkansas stone over the surface to make sure there are no positive burrs.Chances are you'll blow...
I'm having a similar issue with mine and since we live near each other and the temperature just tanked finally, I'm finding that the 1G Idle Switch (throttle adjust screw as shown in your picture) is causing an offset to the true 0% position. In other words the stupid spring on the throttle...
I was under the impression he has this style hub with the 4 bolt backing plate. If that's the case shot for sure. But there is another style that is a press in. I figured if the thing is that loose with the axle out it would have just fallen off.
I would agree with the previous posts, looks like the head needs to come off.
Leaving the breather hose unhooked is ok, not a bad idea to hook it into a catch can. There are some really good articles on catch can setup and valve cover breathing.Since your seeing saturation on the intake side...
The stretched tire look that makes the car resemble a wheelchair cause the rim sticks out so far. NJ has the worst roads in the world and your going to drive a slammed car with stretched tires 80 mph down the road and have the nerve to make fun of my stock height car on 16" Ha!Won't be the...
