Oh, I am sorry, only reason I asked is bc they are new to town and a rivalry is always nice to drum up business. (If not alittle fun) xD If countries can make money on wars shouldn't everyone? Drunkmann tuning is kinda a subby only thing. Suby's are like varmain here in Pcola. So, frail and bug...
butchered crank also? I actually seen those rods last time I was there. Remind me not to pull up aside your car at a red light, lol. what programs you use to tune?
I agree that you should have a oil psi sending unit on your oiil feed line from the OFH so you can monitor the psi correctly. I bought two prosport 60mm oil psi gauges for alittle over 100$. One for the engine psi and one after the turbo feed restrictor. Also, this sounds like a major problem...
I had the same problem when installing my new FP NEW old school red turbo. What i did was install a T at the OFH and ran a sensor at T and another sensor between restrictor and turbo. found out the block psi and turbo feed psi then installed the proper restrictor.
I would jump over there also and make a account. I would use the same account name for both forums. Its easier for ppl to contact you through each forum. Also, could you post a top pic of your engine bay im curious about your setup :hmm:
they having a sale on turbos in stock.. 800$ for a red or green i think. I bought mine from Forced Performance and it was one of the best products i bought for my car. Go look at vendor announcements.
I just watched a episode of BBC Top Gear where they talk about how fast the chinese does impact test on their car crash study's...Guess how fast?!.. 60mph?50?30?10? Nope, I was told 6MPH...lol I dont know if Jeremy was just talking shit but i wouldn't chance it either.
make sure you have the specialty tools needed. Like a big ass Axel socket, a tool to pop out the tie-rods, grease and i would replace seals while i had it out.. 5$ just to make sure its not broken is good insurance. GOOD LUCK!
sounds like tranny work will be a must. I would take it to a technician that knows dsm's and check everything over if owner will let you. Its very cheap though, so the money you save you could put into it. GL
This is a perfect cap on motoman vs normal brake in procedure. 1 thing though.. I would buy OEM filter from dealership they cost 6$ and its the better filter IMO
When I bought my 2Ga GS eclipse I was told the same thing, however, Its just like any other motor. Just build the head up for a turbo and make sure your compression is good. Then go with the supporting mods. If you like the car, do what you want. Now i am not saying the 420a motor is worse or...
I was told by a well known machinist to use the motoman way on my brake in, however, I was too paranoid to use the brake in with nothing but hard driving. motoman brake in goes against everything in my nature for braking in a car. Personally I just let it get up to themp and check for leaks. If...
Yea, when I got this car i was blessed with the longest route FMIC EVER! make best of a pre-fabbed kit, unless you got the means to cut and weld yourself. GL
I have never been past the 2900 with this vehicle and wouldnt know how difficult it would be goin from stop and go all day. Is this car goin to be your DD?
I got 2 gauges running from the OFH and the turbo feed line from the OFH. I put a very small restrictor on the turbo feed and i see 20psi on turbo feed all the way too 60 psi on high boost. I was told from Jusmx that it should never go past 70 psi, so i am about to install a little smaller...
After I worked on the throttlebody and getting everything ready to install, I figured out i would do a BSE with the new block. So, I messaged BogusSVO that has a shop right down the street and asked if he had a extra he could sell. He was quick to respond with a "come on down and see what I...
Its always nice running into a 20+ year old car that hasnt been abused and a old women that owns it for the life of the car. (i am never that damn lucky)
Ouch, I would never get rid of this car now, specially for a evo. Its part of the family!
While putting the motor together I was able to get some new parts. I bought a new throttle body from throttlebody.com and I got it bored out to 65mm with the half shaft mod. This was my very 1st time dealing with steve from throttlebody.com and it was a very good experience. He was very...
Before pulling the old motor I had to disconnect everything from the motor. I had a couple surprises, one being a broken thermostat housing. The bottom bolt was being used to hold up the 02 sensor and wide-band sensor wiring, so it might of been broken to hold this stuff up.This is the old...
This is my first swing at making my very first build thread/journal. I wish that I would of started keeping tabs and pictures when I first bought this car for a correct build journal, however, I can only jump in head first then hope that it might resemble a thought out and thorough thread that...
I like the 1g. it looks like it has been nontouched by a backyard mechanic with horrible ricer addons. anyways, good luck and let us know your decision!
I always mark the milage before getting out of my car if i ever have to take a vehicle in, however, i mostly do all my work now.
Harbor Freight has a box of seals for 5$, just make sure to get some Vaseline.
I agree. they must of left a plug/sensor/hose off the car. I would go some where else and have previous shop reimburse me for the new shop work. i had a shop pay for my hotel and repairs when they screwed up my car while i was on a trip.
Does any of the pulley's look bent? even a small imperfection will make it move. I had a 96 eclipse GS and the ass. belt would fall off because of the AC condenser pulley was just barely bent. also, what was the sequence of pulleys you put the timing belt on? did you put the timing belt 1st on...
