I had the DEPO and they look cool for sure, but the water temp started acting funny after only 50-100 miles. The connector for the peak hold/warning buttons was very small and cheap (easy to bend the pins).I like the idea of getting those Diesel gauges, they look like they're much higher...
Great tip! My friend's gas gauge is messed up too, I know that there are two floats, one on the driver's side & one on the passenger side with the fuel pump. Can someone confirm that you would need to purchase BOTH fuel level floats if the gauge doesn't work?
I have this problem too when I installed the ISC & FIAV. From what I hear the idle surge is usually a bad/misadjusted ISC or BISS or bad FIAV. Throttle cable can also do it. Make sure your TPS Volts are .63 at idle and check that the ISC position is as close to 30 at idle too...
Yea I saw that at ~20% Throttle, I would try BPR7ES plugs with a .028 gap. That slight knock retard could also be bad gas. It looks random as I see no correlation with the O2 cycle or degrees of timing. You hit 30-33* before and it didn't knock. Could be vibration, phantom knock,etc...
From 6271 you were getting 2.8* of knock retard and your ThrotPos was only up to 87% so I would see about adjusting the TPS and seeing how tight the throttle cable is. My ThrotPos is only at 90% but I am trying to get it to 100% I know anything over 90% is considered WOT.Your airflow was...
This was a 2nd gear pull and I'm not sure if the Airflow #'s are low for 22psi on the FP RED? 258.4 gm/s.
The car dyno'd 430whp at 22psi at it's current setup.
*Fixed* Intercooler hose leak
Thanks for the reply! I will start with reconnecting them. I know the previous owner eliminated a lot of stuff like the AC & ABS so I want to compare what is left in my engine bay.
Found a diagram showing where the FIAV hoses go for anyone else who may have the same concern.I confirmed that...
The talon I just bought has two things I need to fix:1) Idle surges a lot once it's warmed up (1,000-1400 rpms back and forth)
2) VERY Rich in low rpms (in the 10's until boost hits) even taking 30+ % fuel out.I noticed that the two hoses below are NOT on my throttle body. I just see the...
The car I just bought has a 7 Blade HX35, I will post my feedback once I tune it on 20psi pump gas. I plan on running 28psi on 93 + Meth. From what I hear, this is a very solid and robust turbo that can see 30-35psi. 56mm inducer so it's good for 500+ whp
Thanks guys!
Running DSM Link V 2.5
While updating my mods list, I just realized it has 1350's - For some reason I thought they were 1650's so I should be perfect with these!
I bought a talon that was running E85 with a 2.3 HX35 7 blade and FIC 1650cc's. I am switching over to 93 pump running 20psi for now and then eventually pump + meth. Will these 1650's be too difficult to control when just running pump gas for now? I was thinking of selling them to someone...
I was going to get some seats like this from Ebay, for $240 shipped they look nice. I would find the OEM seat rails from another car, that should be easy as there are a ton of people parting their cars out. THen I do what this guy below did. He just used two pieces of steel per seat. He...
Nice setup! I just bought a car with the HX35 on it and I have to tune for 93, then I'll do 93+meth. Very curious to see what kind of power it makes. I think 550-580whp is possible at 33psi
Ah man that sucks, I was just looking around to see which Meth kit is the best, I read a few reviews on this happening with a few AEM Meth kits.In this case, the fact that the rear end was up in the air for 2 months makes it sound like the fluid did indeed somehow just flow through the line...
That sounds like something in the map. Does the A/F get rich or lean during the break up point? My buddy's built car was breaking up and it was as simple as gapping down the plugs a bit more.
Nice project! I'ts fun piecing things together and making the car your own. I've been a turbo addict for 15 years! I always have multiple cars, but I can't go without a fun turbo car. SO addicting
Awesome! I just bought a 2.3 liter Hx35 car, I need to tune it and play with a few things, but I can't wait to feel the boost. To the OP
Do a compression & leak down check and see where the current 7 bolt is at. You'll have a ton of fun with the car for now just doing basic bolt ons. Once...
I just bought a '96 Tsi with the A/C removed and I want to put it back in. I know people remove the A/C due to overheating or lack of room, my car is coming next week so I have to take a look at the setup, but I can't go without AC!
