If you had 3 grand to spend on a stock eclipse what would it consist of?

every now and again up shifting into 3rd the tranny acts like it wants to grind. almost like the clutch isnt engaged all the way. but this is only on occasion not everytime. any ideas on what it is? shifter linkage, tranny itself, gears?any ideas?thanks!
