I'm selling these parts that I've acquired to get into the 9’s. At this point it'll be a while before I can use them and I could use the cash right now so they're for sale… Prices are obo and do not include shipping or PayPal fees. I can ship in the USA from Port Huron MI, 48060 or in Canada...
The shootout is just days away and I have a few parts left that I am selling. I will bring these parts to the shootout for free or I can ship at the buyers expense from Michigan, 48060! I'll post pictures upon request...
All prices are in USD...1G 4 Bolt rear lsd diff from a manual car - $150...
My 1-2 was at 7600 or so and 2-3 at 7800... I was in the process of changing my shift points so that it would shift at 7500 rpm but then my car wouldn't start afterwards. Apparently I hit my nos switch when I was changing my shift points and I blew my mpi fuse, I thought that I burnt out my ecu...
My dsm profile is up to date, but basically I have a built 6 bolt Eagle/Wiseco 9.0 engine, auto swapped, restalled stock converter, forced four shift box, cyclone intake, built 1g head, Kiggly beehive valvesprings, 4 bolt rearend, Hoosier Drag Radials, dsmlink, E85... And some mild weight...
Yeah, Hoosier 225/50/16 drag radials. I've been thinking about getting 26" radials to help my mph but I don't want to sacrifice the 60'... I don't know how much of a difference it would make. My low mph is probably due to my converter slipping too much at high rpms.
No, I did some weight reduction last fall, mostly just rear seats, passenger seat, carpet and bumper supports... I figure that I dropped a couple hundred pounds but there's a lot more left to do... I think that I'm going to dial it back now and get the car set up nicely to run in the 11.5...
I don't have a dyno chart but I do have a timeslip! I broke into the 10's last Monday with my V 1 68HTA! My best run was a 10.84 @124.02 mph. I had 3 more runs in the 10's too! Peak boost pressure was 31 psi falling off to 28 psi. I have no idea of how much power I'm making but I love that...
Sounds like you have it figured out. A 50 shot should do the trick to spool at the line. You should be able to get a 130 mph trap speed with those tires too!
Chances are that if you shift into 4th you'll end up blowing your end clutches. You shouldn't boost in 4th gear! Your mod list looks pretty good though, and I wouldn't be surprised if you're running 10's if you can get a good launch! You might need some nos to spool the turbo at the line though...
No problem... I haven't dyno'd it yet, I'm still playing around with the tune. I've logged as much as 59 lbs/min at 30 psi. I have an auto too so that sucks up a bunch of power. I'd be pretty happy to be making 500 awhp but I don't know yet. I'm thinking about going to get it dyno tuned soon...
Haha my bad, I looked back and that was the first engine build that I found! The new engine sounds awesome though and your car is going to be a beast! BTW you are looking to sell it after your done the build because you want a new project, let me know! Lol... I'm pretty close to you! Lol But on...
It looks like you are doing great work! I've been really thinking about getting a Galant VR4 in the next year or two as well! Good luck with your build!
I am hoping that my big 60mm wastegate will prevent either turbo from being choked. As of now I am pretty much going to be going by trial and error to find out what works the best for my setup!
I would have thought that it would be better to run the low pressure turbo at a higher pressure so that it would be more in its efficiency zone and produce a higher flow rate. With only 10 psi the FP red would lucky to flowing 50 lb/min. I'm definitely not an expert and don't have any real world...
That's interesting. So are you figuring that the low pressure turbo is only putting out 10psi? How did you set up your wastegates? I am planning on controlling the primary turbo by a mbc sensing the boost pressure after the first stage and controlling the secondary with a mbc sensing boost at...
That's good to hear. Do you have any issues with such a small turbine housing? What type of wastegate setup are you running? If I could get away with running the 14b and just using a 60 mm external gate it would be less work fabbing the piping since it's already setup that way...
Instead of creating a new thread, I'm bringing this one back up to discuss my compound turbo project. I recently acquired a compound turbo setup that was originally on a mirage. It consists of a bw s366 primary turbo and an FP 68hta secondary turbo, 2 60 mm wastegates, 1g exhaust manifold with...
Thanks for the reply Justin. I ran some oil through it and the noise has seemed to go away. There also seemed to be a small burr that the turbine wheel was hitting so I removed that and it does seem a lot better. I think that I will try running it and hopefully I won't have any issues. Thanks...
Hey Justin, I just picked up a big 16g for a project and it seems like there is an issue with it. There is no noticeable shaft play but when I spin the wheels there is a ticking from the turbine wheel. Is it possible that all of the oil has drained from it and the wheel is contacting the...
I recently picked up a compound turbo setup that I am going to install over the winter and fix up a few other things. The compound setup is a 16g and a bw s366. I'm aiming for 600+ awhp through the auto tranny and low 10's without using nos to get up on the stall!
It's good to see that you've figured it out. I've been following this thread from the beginning as I have a transmission at home that has no 1st, 2nd or reverse. Is that the front drum that you found broken?
Thanks for the tip... I tried joining that club before but I had a lot of trouble joining while I was using my phone. I'm not really a fan of that site because it's very cumbersome to use...
It seems to me that something isn't right with the shift lever or it could be in the valvebody. Are you saying that when the shifter is in Park that the transmission is in Park? If the transmission is in Park I'd have to say that the lever is ok.
Who did the install of the shift kit and other...
Calling all DSMers from Southwestern Ontario Canada! I just started a new Facebook group - Southwestern Ontario DSM... Hopefully we can plan local events and track days and also sell and trade parts. I'd like to have a strong local DSM community!
Wow, I never thought of gapping my plugs that tight. I am experiencing spark blowout when I turn the boost up to 30 psi. When I am only at 26 psi it runs great. I have br8es gapped to 0.018 so after seeing this thread I am going to try gapping them a bit tighter. I am also just on new stock ngk...
Don't let that stop you, bring them! I went for my first time last year with my pregnant GF, and 2 kids - a 5 year old and 8 month old. We're going back this year with another kid - he's only 6 months old! This time I'm going to tow the talon though, it's a pita driving 2 vehicles down...
I was having a similar issue after doing an auto swap last fall. I didn't have any issues spooling up a 14b, but when I installed my 20g I could only spool up when my iat's were very cold, like 70°F in the early morning. I tried everything, adjusting timing and a/f ratios and even antilag...
Ah, I am not sure about the 2g's but the 1g crossmembers are the same for auto and manuals. Hopefully someone else will chime in, I'm sure that you want to get your car fired up... You must be hoping to have the car ready for the shootout, eh?
My setup is in my profile, but yes, I do have a restalled 1g torque converter, forced power sheet metal intake manifold, Crane 264 cams, built 2.0L with wiseco 9:1 Pistons and Eagle rods, and a JAM rebuilt 1g head with 1mm oversized valves.
It is true that I'd be able to stall up better with my...
I'm going to chime in on this... I've been following this thread and others like it about launching an auto since I recently completed an auto swap. From my limited experience I believe that to stall the auto you need to build torque to load up the converter. To do this you need to have high...
Beautiful car man! Do you have any results with the old school fp red? I am going to be installing my old school fp red within the next month and have similar mods except I've done an auto swap...
