Thats what i was thinking. One thing i forgot to add tho and what makes me lean away from wheel bearing is that its only making the noise for a segment of the wheel rotation. Like 1-2 seconds grind, 1-2 sec nothing, 1-2 seconds grind, etc.
My car recently began making a speed dependent grinding noise any time any amount of right steering angle is applied and sometimes while going straight. Any amount of left steering angle and the noise goes away completely. The noise seems to be coming from the from the front driver side corner...
Should be getting around to installing the rest of my parts and getting the old girl tuned by the time warm weather hits up here and just curious what some experianced dsmr's think it'll do in the 1/4. The car is a 1991 TSI AWD Auto with a 14b turbo. The car has roughly 130k mi and the...
If you have the right arm ems for for your car it should have a stock tune preloaded that will at least get u started. Try checking out the aempower forums. Lots of people out there willing to help.
My first $1000 in upgrades were an AEM standalone and basic maintenance. The next $1000 after that is the FMIC and turbo-back exhaust living in the shed until spring. These cars burn money almost as fast as they burn fuel.
Hold Brake, press accelerator, let off to accelerator to get some vaccum to the brakes, HARD on the brake, add accelerator until brakes no longer hold, release brakes. Always works for me. Im sure if my brakes were up to shape it would hold all the power, but I just havent had the time to...
build looks like its coming along nice. I could swear those are the Dahm Brothers cars in ## last post but i thought the lambo was in pieces right now?
No offense, but a little grammar and punctuation would help us understand your problems. From what i can tell you have about half the parts you need to be running properly.Your problem right now is that you're running 12lbs of boost with 40psi of fuel pressure through 550cc injectors that are...
Personally i use AEM, but there is literally thousands of pages of help and support for link both here and on the link forums. Just take your time, do your research, and ask for some help and you should be fine.
My first suggestion would be to either track down some stock injectors or buy something to tune with. Just adjusting fuel pressure is a pretty sketchy way of "tuning" and you're pretty much guaranteed to damage something with no way of making fuel/timing adjustments or logging to see what you're...
+1 on getting a new downpipe. Have a similar situation on my car with an aftermarket section of flex and test pipe attached to as stock exhaust. Ill be spending all winter acquiring a new exhaust from the turbo back.
^^rich or not, if u have fuel, spark, and compression it should at least be trying to start or starting then choking out. Also, how old are the injectors? have they been cleaned/flow tested in the past few years?
So I purchased my car with non-functioning pop-ups (stuck in up position) thinking it would be an easy fix. I removed all the plastics, unhooked the motors and sprayed all the hinge points with multiple rounds of pb blaster over 2 days and they still won't budge.Does anyone know if there...
So i bought my car with non working headlights (stuck uo), finally dug into them today to see whats going on. Took off the plastics and top covers to headlights, removed the arms from the motors, sprayed hinges liberally with PB blaster, and tried to break them free. no avail. only movement came...
My car was having the same issue. Turns out it wouldn't kick on automatically till about 205*. I just use the ac switch to turn mine on. Not that big of a hassle for me.
Factory gauge reading means basically nothing. Mine was reading 7 on the factory gauge and 11 on my aftermarket gauge with no boost control modifications. I say go for it. I love my auto.
first check the fluid level and condition as described above, if that checks out check the linkages, if those check out check the filter. if that checks out its either an internal transmission problem or a tcu problem. On the off chance you cant find the information you need on here Automatic...
had the same issue with my mbc. took about 15-20 turns from all the way out to notice an increase in pressure. if that doesnt work then it could be a boost leak.
Currently getting 14 mpg in my 91 awd auto. 14b, 550's, 2g maf untuned. Car runs pig rich through the rev range until the temp gauge reads in the middle, then it leans out a bit and starts running 13-15:1 afrs at cruise, 10:1 at wot and 10-12:1 at idle for some reason.AEM standalone running...
last time i had a stuck and stripped o2 sensor in a car i ended up breaking off the ceramic, grabbing a cheap socket and a bit of jb weld, packing the socket corners with jbweld, putting it on whats left of the sensor, letting it dry, then torquing it off with an impact. then just used a chisel...
I though the auto FPR was 43.5psi? I figured that was contributing to my mileage. the maf is flowing ~20% more, and with the auto fpr on 550's im flowing ~35-40% more fuel. I also discovered that at some point in its life it got a 14b thrown on( still in good shape, virtually no shaft play). Im...
Just did mine yesterday. 1g's are a real pain due to the lack of clearance between the o2 dump and the dipstick tube. I ended up breaking off the top of the old 02, throwing a 7/8 impact socket and a 12" extension and impacting it off. Finger tight the new one in, then lock it down with a box...
But i'm also flowing approx. 20% more air due to the 2g MAF. Ive read a few dozen threads on the topic of puttin a 2g maf in a 1g with 550cc injectors, and still haven't found an answer to whats causing the trouble codes or the extremely poor fuel mileage (approx 11-12mpg).Even if the...
No tuning atm, however if the problem persists i might just go ECMlink because 175 miles to a tank at $4 a gallon will eclipse the cost of link pretty quickly.
"what pressure does the 50os need"? not sure if typo. Also, if my fuel pressure regulator didnt have enough PSI to run the 550's, would i be running lean verses extremely rich? Not sure how thoroughly you read my previous posts. The parts i bough in total were a boost gauge(for a more...
So i swapped the o2 sensor, still have the CEL. Had a buddy with steadier hands a better eyes try his hands at pulling the codes and it seems to be giving me codes 11, 12, and 13 (o2, maf, and iat). Also while under the car i noticed that the rear o2 sensor had been deleted. So my questions...
Pulled the codes, came back o2 sensor. Kinda figured thats what it was considering it doesnt come on until 1-2 min after a cold start. Also ordered a MBC, gauge pod, and an aftermarket boost gauge. Will check back in after i get all the parts installed and letcha know if my problem is solved.
