It is probably just a bad sending unit if you are seeing oil pressure at the head. Get a new stock one or better yet, get a real oil pressure gauge so you can see the exact pressure you have.
Yeah, I looked on their site and saw the stage 4 and 5. What is the difference between stage 3 and stage 4 in terms of pedal pressure? How much power can the stage 4 handle. Also have you ever used the stage 5? Is it streetable, is the pedal super stiff? Thanks
Hmmm, I was under the impression that the stage 2 was like the 2600, but the 2600 is rated right around 400 ft/lbs which seems very close to the stage 3. I was hoping the stage 3 was stronger than that because I need a clutch that can handle quite a bit more torque Does "spec" make a stronger...
A wideband is a great tool, but by no means absolutely neccessary. I ran 11's all last year on a logger, eprom chip and safc. If you just watch your timing advance and knock you can get a very nice tune. Obviously you can be more precise with a wbo2, but if your goals aren't too fast I don't see...
Wow! I just read the whole thread on ATDSM. I must say, GREAT JOB! Never in my wildest dreams would I think there would be a paddle shifter available for a DSM. LOL. My hat off to Hugo for starting a project and actually completeing it. I can't wait for the release!
I don't have any experience with the magnus or other manifold out there so I will not post my opinion of them. I think we are being a little harsh on the FRH though. I have one on my car and ran an 11.5 @ 121 on 21 psi with my 3052. At 25 psi I trapped a little over 127 mph with a terrible 1.8...
My car did the exact same thing. I thought it was something serious but it ended up being very simple. It was just way too rich in between shifts. Try leaning it out around 4500 - 5000 rpm, or wherever your shift point is. .94 seems very rich, I am usually .88 - .90. That should to the trick.
The other problem is that is also turns the a/c on if you still have it. I just did the vfaq way of the fan switch and indeed the a/c does come on along with the fans. I have been trying to think of others ways to get around this and I think your idea will work. Maybe it was just too obvious and...
I have the FRH manifold on my car. I have no flow numbers but I can tell you that it performs well on my car. I trapped 127 mph on a 3052 with it and it seems to pull very strong on the top end for me. I have always heard good things about the FRH. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Just so you all know, the JM heat shield is NOT aluminum. They are made from stainless I believe. I have one and it is very nice. Better lookin than in the pics.
No, pocketlogger cannot be used to adjust the biss screw. It is strictly a logging tool. I would pressure test your intake system for vacuum leaks and get a new biss o-ring. Then just adjust the biss by hand.
Hi, nice work on the MMCD. I have always used the pocketlogger SW and am unfamiliar with the MMCD. Could you maybe list out what all the abbreviations mean. Most are obvious but there are a few i can't figure out. Thanks
Just a word of advice on FP 30 series turbos. They are stainless and apparently normal anti seize doesn't work too well. I had 3 of my bolts get stuck and actually break off. I called up FP and they told me to use 4 brand new OEM bolts and two 2g conical crush washers per bolt along with COPPER...
98talonAWD, I have a hard time believing a turbo of that size will spool by 3700 on a stock bottom end. I mean people with 3065's are spooling early 4000 and they are full ball bearing turbos. Saying that a stroker will spool it up by 3000 rpm is a bit ridiculous as well. I am not flaming you or...
Are there any drawbacks from running it on a palm? I don't have a laptop and don't intend to buy one. Can you do everything on a Palm that can be done with a laptop?
The numbers DSM put down are very impressive, but to those doubting the power capability of the FP3052, don't forget he is on a stock intake manifold and stock bottom end. Heck, maybe his head is stock too. I have run 126.5 mph on my 3052 at 25 psi and an unmolested head. This turbo is more than...
Yeah, that sounds good. I pretty much have everything right now except the turbo. I currently have a 3052, wanna hit tens then will go to a 3065. I was just curious about the little box because I have never heard of it before. I searched for a while and came up with nothing. If anyone out...
Not to sound like a dick, but I am well aware how good our stock ignition system is. Yes I plan on making over 500 whp (don't we all, lol). Currently I am running mid 11's at over 126 mph. I am thinking about a 3065 in the near future. I think I am coming to a point where my stock ignition isn't...
Has anyone evre used the Ignition Solutions Plasma Booster? You can check it out here:Ignition SolutionsI have heard that Curt Brown used it on his 9 second car and have read lots of magazine reviews on it that seem to like it. It seems to me like it is similar to a MSD-2 without all the...
dustyduff, how do you like the dog box racing trans? I was looking at them but can't seem to find too many people using them. Anyone putting down good power and using a dog box racing trans? Their prices seem really good and thats good for a cheapy like me.LOL.
I just put -8 line on my car from the tank to the rail. I have a 255lph and it works fine. It can make as much pressure as I want it to. Good luck with your FP3065. I have the 3052 and love it.Ryan
The same thing happens to me when I am part throttle making a little boost. I have a Tial BOV and have not put a lighter spring in it yet to stop this though. But what I think is happening is that the BOV is fluttering and that is what is causing the jerkiness of the car. I know it is the BOV on...
Hey Vassil, nice numbers. I have almost the same exact setup as you except I have a stock head, FRH manifold and GM MAFT. I was wondering how much of an improvement you noticed with your ported and polished head. I am just wondering if that is holding me back at all. My best time so far with the...
Despite my name I have a 91 Talon AWD. I ran an 11.58 @ 121 at 21 psi. I have pics of the turbo in my gallery if you want to see it. I haven't been able to turn the boost up recently because off some odd tuning issues I am having. Once I get them sorted and get my hands on a new trans I plan on...
I am having a similar voltage drop problem. Except my voltage will randomly drop to about 11.5 volts, then shoot back to 13.8 for a couple minutes. Then the voltage will drop again. It is weird. Also my alternator is brand new and I have new 8 awg wire for the alt. and 4 awg for the battery. Has...
I don't know what the fastest time is with the 3052. At 21 psi I ran an 11.58 @ 121 on my 3052. I am sure someone will post a 10 second slip sooner or later with this turbo. I would turn up the boost some more but I am confident my 126k tranny will break and I am flat broke.
FP 3052 ReviewThis is a very nice review of the FP 3052. I personally own this turbo and would highly recommend it. You can read my personal review on the last page of the link.
I start to see positive boost by 3k and full boost by about 3500 - 3600. And in case anyonw cares I went out and started tuning and turning the boost up. I set it to 20 psi and man it scared me all over again. It was awesome. I love this turbo. When I am driving on the highway and accelerate a...
I recieved my turbo within 2 weeks also. It was polished and had a 2.5" elbow welded on. I just got my car back together and took it to the track. I was only at 16 psi and was taking it real easy out of the hole (1.9 - 2.0 60 foot) and shifting at 6500 rpm to get a feel for my new setup. I...
Shep is in southern ohio. But Michigan is on the border of Ohio so shep could easily be 2-4 hours away depending on where 99gstracer lives in Michigan.
Yup you guys were right. I dropped the pan and found tiny metal shivings all over the bottom. I guess I spun a rod bearing. Well at least I have a good excuse to upgrade to some Ross and Eagles. One more dumb question that I can't seem to find the answer to. Does the front case from Conicelli...
Ok so this morning I go and work on the car. I used a breaker bar on the crankshaft and it spins but is extremely hard to turn over. I took out the plugs and it is still very hard to turn over. So I am thinking maybe my alternator, water pump or oil pump seized. Nope they all rotate freely. So...
