love the detail here. Though I'm curious why you masked off all of the bolt holes etc on the knuckle. Are you worried about hole tolerances or fastening over the coating?
I made this template for 1-1/2 inch schedule tubing to cutout merge collectors without fancy tools for my compound turbo setup. This was the first test and it's just a 12degree merge. I think i'll design another one with a 12/15 split angle so that it fits the rectangular flange better...
they max out at 400, so you need a bigger turbo if you're not happy where it is.... what are you making right now?You could probably push 400 on E85 with the 16g
Plan is to use the cheaper fittings (Kurt brand) and some kurt sae 100r7 hose which has a nylon core. Crimping won't be an issue with this standard stuff and nylon is e85 safe. The hose is only $3/ft instead of the $5/ft for PTFE so I'll probably save quite a bit overall for a full fuel setup...
I called the local places places and its $5 to do a hose so its kinda border line on the pricing side. Problem is they need to know how far to crimp and would probably be guessing with these fittings.Edit: also jic 37deg fittings are the same as an fittings.
No, but I was planning on taking them to a local hydraulic shop... Shouldn't be too expensive but I should probably get a quote first as that will either make or break this idea.
I was looking into JIC fittings as an alternative to AN for a cheaper fuel setup that wont blow up in my face and found something kinda odd with the difference between fancy PTFE fittings and the standard hydraulic fittings. If you look at the links above, you'll see that the dimensions are the...
Nice Welding cast is always controversial.... What was your setup?Pic attached of the ceramic cup (with standard collet body) and the gas lense collet/glass cup I was using. Ceramic cup is size 6. cup was 12mm I think. About 10-15 CFH and no other changes besides swapping out collet/cup.I'm...
What kinda tig cups do you use? I have a WP26 torch and bought some ebay lenses (because surely they can't mess this up) but they don't work for crap. I ran the same gas CFH with a traditional ceramic cup and welded just fine then switched over to the lenses with the glass cups and it...
a gt35 should get you to 5/600. you'll need a 40 size if you want more. I like to run E85 all the time because less detonation etc and it makes more HP anyways.. I dont know if a td05 could make this much HP.
I'm hesitant to even mention this because you probably don't want to deal with it, but: look into a dog box. It's the only thing I've found that would hold up to 2.4L torque over time.
Some one on here did a rotisserie, but i have no idea where it is hah.Edit: This isnt it, but it might help http://www.ca.dsm.org/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=431259Ahh here it is, not exactly a rotisserie http://www.mitsustyle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30878&page=2Oh and i...
first off, its his car and he can do whatever he wants. He is obviously not going to give up as he as already started. Second, dont me so dang negative. Why don't you critique instead of calling it shit. Far as i know this is his first RWD build, of course its not gonna be the best. live and learn.
that white looks really good! have fun keeping it clean though haha.also, why did you use seam sealer on the paint, and not on the bare metal (wouldn't that be stronger)?
Don't remember where, but someone used dental floss, but it becomes harder the older they are. Maybe some thin wire, or even nichrome wire (thin wire that heats up a lot with power ran through it)
2.5in as seen here http://www.apexi-usa.com/store/exhaust/downpipes/n1-downpipes/n1-downpipe-1995-1999-mitsubishi-eclipse-gst.htmlwhy dont you just crawl under and check to be sure?
Do you know if it has a boost controller? Or is it stock? You said earlier it was around teh stock 12psi pressure, so ill just assume you dont.heres a vacuum line diagram for the eclipse:As i see it there are a few things that could be causing our issue: bad BOV (bypass valve), bad wastegate...
Yeah that's a good idea because some places check for a physical cat under the car.By tubes, i'm guessing you're talking about dump tubes? the wastegate routes the excess exhaust through them. People either dump them to atmosphere under the engine, or route them back into the exhaust further...
for the catback issue, you need to trick the rear 02 sensor. the catback CEL is caused by the rear o2 detecting the gases the cat would've normally filtered out. This is fixed by deacreasing the amount of exhaust gas that reaches the rear o2 sensor.Either of these should fix your issue, but...
i believe intrigd is talking about using a 3d printer to make plastic molds which can then be used to create new parts with methods such as injection molding.
I was thinking of the same for here in Rapid City. The roads are absolutely HORRENDOUS. They have these huge dips on all four edges of 4 way stops in the residential areas that make my shitty 02 corolla (stock point A to B car) scrape unless i take it from the side or at 5mph (literally!).I...
I got a strange question haha.... Im a college student here in Rapid so I can't afford a DSM (saving for tuition etc), but i'd still like to get some experience with DSMs so that i can dive in when i can. I've done work on my current car (engine rebuild, general maintenance) so I know a bit...
I thought this would be an interesting topic to start: what song describes or makes you think about your DSM or any other car I guess?Ill start with Love The Way You Lie
That is some of the best wiring i've seen. i wish i wasn't a poor college student so i could own a DSM and do stuff like this! Anyways, keep up the great stuff man.
We are apart of the black hills AWS region and i think we are considered a student chapter as were on the list AWS - Student Chaptersi dont think AWS does anything for us though. i mean we could have our own private "welding club" and still do the same stuff. even though we are a chapter, i...
so i went to the AWS meeting. there is such a thing called AWS student membership as that one dude said last page. 15$ for a subscription to some magazine, scholarships and other stuff. itll probs be a few weeks before we get all the other stuff ready and we can start actually welding :(as for...
