Thanks man! I decided not to get the 1G, I'm a daddy who works full time so needed somethin drivable lol. But I picked up a pretty sweet 2G FWD. youre welcome to come by and take a look! Got a little work to do on it lol.
The guy screwed up with signing over the title and signed as purchaser, (never titled it in his name) and the DMV won't let me get it in my name. It was a careless mistake on my part... But I got a few numbers for the original owner, so I'm gonna call him and ask him for his help so everything...
I've taken a look at mine and it seems simple enough. But you're gonna have to rip down the accessories to get to the timing cover, and then yank it to do a timing job. It shouldn't be more than basic hand tools. If you've got yourself a ratchet and a good amount of metric and SAE you'll be just...
Hahahaha!! :)
Come to find out I may end up needing a new body for the talon... Idiot screwed up the title and now won't answer my calls. I'm gonna have to go down and have a talk with him... Well that's if I can resist the urge to strangle him!!! Hahaha
I don't believe it's too bad to set timing on these, I haven't had to tear into mine yet, but I'll print any info I can find at work and I'll text it to ya (working for an auto parts store has its perks haha :) I'd come up there and help ya out, but woman is still looking for a job and money's a...
Plan on it! LolLol! Nice bro, I struck gold with this one. Even though my talon needs work she absolutely loves it. The only condition she gave me for me trading the mustang was to teach her how to drive a 5 speed! Lol I even get sammiches if I ask for them :)
Definitely lol. Mine will not only grab a wrench and know what to do with it, but will also grab us beers from the fridge :D we're excited to start building the talon.
I've got a couple buddies with paint booths at their shops, but my girlfriend and I will be doing all the work ourselves. (Got lucky and found a woman who likes cars as much as I do!) :D haha
Yea they did a pretty good job with it! Lol. I really like this blue and black color scheme I've got goin on so I'm probably gonna stick with it. And I love the color of this blue :)
Got a throwout bearing to replace before I can make the trip to show it off to all you Jax guys! Haha
Thank ya! It's a fiberglass, previous owners did a butcher job on quite a few things on this car including the hood, so I got some repair work to on it. Definitely got my work cut out for me, but it's gonna be an amazing machine when I'm finally through with it :D I won't make it this meet, but...
Just picked up my Talon TSI, found one near me that runs and drives great, just needs love and TLC and someone to fix her up!
1995 Talon TSI
This is gonna be a slow build, and I gotta un Frankenstein the wire harness that previous owner "modded" for the crappy alarm system, neon, and amp crap...
Awesome man, thanks! I'm looking to get up and running ASAP. Trading my daily for it, so I gotta be able to get to work so I can dump my paychecks into it haha.
Dude had just done all of the normal tune up type stuff including the water pump and timing belt (yadayada) when the belt blew. Definitely bent valves. I'm waiting to hear back from him, while scouring my junkyards looking for a head! Hahaha
^ Poetry. What white is saying can definitely be your issue. If your car runs good when pop started then the problem will definitely be located in between the trans and engine. Possibly flywheel/what white said.
Hey all, I'm a domestic muscle car guy who quite literally stumbled across a 91 talon turbo AWD on Craigslist. It's a daily at the moment, with 54k original miles. Threw the timing belt "pulling into his driveway"
I'm no stranger to cars, but I am to interference engines. One question... How...
